Hi! Great video. How can I set the sharing link so that always the quick connect ID will be used instead of the IP address? I want the link to be available from anywhere.
I'm trying to share an album with my another user, however I dont see the option to set her permissions as a "Provider". I only see downloader and viewer. What am I missing?
I replaced my synology nas. I used to be able to send a folder link where all user could view all the the images in the folder / or a single photo in that directory . Was this ability remove in one of the updates? I started with a fresh version dsm..
There are so many basics missing from Synology photos that make it the poorer choice. Why can I not add a directory outside of the home/photos folder.... also, WHY DO YOU HAVE NO OBJECT/THINGS detection at all???? You had this in Moments... and EVERY competitor has this... come on Synology it's 2023, not 1997.
Even worse … you loose vital features when you try to access synology photos logged in as a regular user with just read-only permissions. (Shared space only setup) Suddenly there is no timeline view and no access to the default “smart” albums (people,places,tags,videos) Why in the world Synology will eliminate those features for regular “read-only” users but having them available for admins is beyond my understanding. Basically there is no way to provide your household members synology photos access WITHOUT a DELETE button for shared space photos AND having also a fully functional BROWSING experience (identical to what an admin have). You either risk photo deletion or have safe access but with limited browsing functionality .
Hey, quiet a late reply but i hope i can help you with this. I had the same issue with no Object recognition recently. The solutuion is quiet simple..... First your NAS has to support it (you can google ur NAS Type and object recognition, there is a official Site by Synology). There is a chance that your NAS can run it but you need more RAM in it (atleast 4Gb to run Object recognition) so its maybe worth buying additional RAM components by Synology and upgreading your NAs

This app is trash because i have my 20GB of photos in many different folders in File Station and Photos have not option to use these folders as albums, really bad solution
