Earla Weese u need to do more research. i mean im a paycheck or illness away from homelessness but u should look into other countries and see they dont even have title loans they eat dirt pies and they search garbage for food. no homelss shelters or food stamps. we are blessed. it gets bad but it can get better in the u.s. with Christ all things are possible. and be4 u say well why wont God do anything u have not because u ask not. and if people arent serving Him theyre living beneath their priveledge. yes Jesus is the answer and yes He would raise people out of poverty it may require some creativity and effort but he helps those who help themselves. alot of poverty would be eradicated with Jesus as the head.

Naiym1 I agree because they are living way better than these true American people and some don't work for it either. They are smart, too because they'll be quick to get that citizenship if given the opportunity and have kids here, so after that- they can't go home or wherever they came from because they will officially be "American citizens" because the government will be oh so generous to grant them that; without having to work for it either.

I hate to tell people this, but it's sad when someone is able-bodied, able-minded, and working at Wendy's when they're 45. Like, what happened in your life that that's the best you can do?

It is hard because I know nobody feels like they even have enough for themselves or their own children - and if they give, they feel they will fall behind. But seeing things like this is truly terrible. I am moved that people in the video took this family in. When we spoke to our pastors about doing something like this ourselves, all they did was lecture us about the risks and defiling our homes. We left that church over those comments. The even greater irony is that the poor are zoned far away up North here, so it's very hard to know someone well enough to make that kind of substantial change for them. It is hard but, I am glad that someone was able to do it for these people.

Any bank will let you use your money right away, IF you can prove you don't bounce checks or have late payments.
You're a fool to spend 225% interest. I'd be bugging my boss for cash. That's like 5.00 on 100.00 for a WEEK! When a bank is FREE.
I see so many people so ignorant about money. It's basic stuff. Don't waste any.
Learn to invest. It's not brain surgery. Mutual funds. ROTH IRA. Stable stuff to start, NOT crypto. Why?
Because the rich guys like Buffett and Gates won't touch it and Gates wants to short it. I'd assume they know more than us. So I'd follow them. Never bet more than you can lose, buy if you're diversified (lots of stocks, Mutual funds, which are a lot of companies tied together) and stay simple and easy.
Nothing you don't understand or has a ridiculous amount of small print on. Crypto, for example. Lots of scammers all over it. Used for all sorts of illegal things. Lots of people will steal it from you and scam you about it.
A Mutual fund is a bit harder in that regard. You can read money books and magazines from the library or free magazine digital downloads the same as any rich person.
Look into Prince Charming isn't Coming (woman got her money stolen by her ex).
      Terry Savage.
There's lots of easy to read things. Start simple. Read about this guru or that. See the negative if any.

This is a problem that can be solved. When I wanted better, I took my last public aid check and moved my family where there were better opportunities. And life got better. We had to stay in a shelter for 30 days but they help me get housing. I then sought out job training from American Red cross to become NURSING Assistant (free of Charge). I also received training from the carpenters Union( free of charge) $24.00 a hour plus benefits. Don't tell me people have to stay poor.

Earla Weese: Chantel is describing an alternative to staying in a region of the country where there are no good jobs. She is absolutely correct that anyone can take control of their own destination. When I was 20, I lived in a place with poor job placement, living in a little shack. I decided one day to change my direction in life so I joined the military service for 4 years. 30 years later, I'm making nearly a 6 figure income and will be ready to retire in leisure soon. Anyone CAN do it if they set their mind to it.

I agree that many people who aren’t even in that bad a situation where they were come here buying into the Hollywood hype that it’s just rainbows and butterflies here and life is just so easy and money is handed into your lap etc....well with more earnings come more expenses, and that’s if you are willing to put in the hard work to put yourself in a good earning position to begin with. If you came here with not much or were born here with nothing, nobody is going to hand success over to you. The American dream is not for the faint of heart and I implore anyone who doesn’t like that about this country to just go back home. Not everyone is built for so much stress in their lives.

"The greatest disease in the West today is not TB or leprosy; it is being unwanted, unloved, and uncared for.
We can cure physical diseases with medicine, but the only cure for loneliness, despair, and hopelessness is love.
There are many in the world who are dying for a piece of bread but there are many more dying for a little love.
The poverty in the West is a different kind of poverty -- it is not only a poverty of loneliness but also of spirituality.
There's a hunger for love, as there is a hunger for God."

even the bible says if you see your neighbor who has nothing and you say keep well and stay warm but do NOTHING for his physical needs- its useless. you cannot love in words only, you must literally give the food you have, the clothes you have, the extra dollar in your wallet. many people say- oh my- no way- its MY DOLLAR. its MY food. but the point is to watch out for your neighbor. to give to them when they are in need. everyone everywhere should practice this hospitality. not take responsibility for all the bills someone accumulated. no. i'm not going to pay anyone's credit card debts. i donn't have that money. but i can give a sandwich. or a water bottle. i can help. i will help. and i won't close my eyes. i won't jump on the judgement wagon that condems the poor as if they are filthy sinners. don't be cruel. Love. and don't judge. that is the way to win this battle.

in the south sexual wellness is still taboo and stigmatized, it's a shame.
if they had access to the proper contraception then they wouldnt have as many kids.
if agencies provide condoms in high schools the rich southerners throw a fit.
some of these low income people have become dependent on welfare and it's a vicious cycle to break.

Wth 22k! He made a little more than me. I'm a home health aide in Florida and I grossed 17k working Monday through Friday 9 to 5 but took home 15k. It's hard trying to stretch that out for the year. Currently working on internet sales for extra income.

3 rules that will increase your odds of success in this country.
    1. Finish high school.
    2. Get some kind of secondary education while you are young! (College, traded school, union apprenticeship, even in areas where work is hard to find, electrician and plumber never have a hard time finding a job and they are paid well!!!!)
    3. Do not have children before steps 1 & 2 are completed.
Everyone wants to have sex because it feels good but not everybody is willing to deal with the responsibility that comes with it.
These 3 rules are not a guarantee of success they only increase your chances.

Yeah, single moms have no choice. They do not want to raise their kids without a father, but things happen. Separation, the father's on drugs, abusive, demanding, narcissistic, sociopathic, etc. Women cannot raise kids under these conditions.

@Helen Hines Nope. You did niot make that quite obvious. You needed that ebt card too, didn't you. Looking at your comment I don't think you were talking about single moms. I am sure that you know that all single moms are not looking for sympathy, child support, government assistance, using an ebt cards, section 8, or sitting around thinking that they do not need a man. Where have you met these single moms?

Witnessing the Descendants of those who built/made America into the wealthiest nation in human history be faced with such sustained hardships generation after generation, it reaffirms so much about what America is and who it has continued to lock out of any substantial participation in it.
