The nicest shelter I've ever seen especially with kidss she is fortunate to have a temporary place.
But you can tell that she doesn't appreciate it or teach her children to appreciate it

The father of the youngest has him and she probably doesn't even know who the father is of at least one of her kids. She is irresponsible and reckless

@@Drchamomile yes I am and was an amazing mother..I homeschooled my son and He has a PhD now in physics ...and he never did drugs, alcohol , or any other bad thing....He is married now for 9 years they were both virgins when they got married and they have managed NOT to have children in 9 years of marriage....so not sure why people keep having kids who can't support them.......she is a HORRIBLE mother for many reasons.....I hope she can turn it around ...but her attitude is so bad., that will have to change in order for her to succeed.....
Been there done that, even being a veteran and was married to a veteran we got NO help from anyone who actually should have, we were treated like trash for years and it took us separating and so much hell for me to get a few steps above homeless. I'm disgusted with how no matter how someone becomes homeless you end up being all stereotyped in with drug addicts and alcoholic's and treated like the worst way possible.
I see a lot of people judging in some of the comments. Difficult times for everyone. Be kind.

I feel for her, we fall on hard times sometimes.
However I also see the sisters side, I would never allow an adult to stay with me & not do their part. Family or not, you need to contribute in some way.
I do hope she gets back on her feet though. At least the youngest is with his dad for now.
It sounds like Jackie and her sister got into an argument because Jackie wasn’t working, but the house was messy. And it sounds like maybe her sister was working, and expected Jackie to clean and take care of the house. But Jackie’s youngest son looks really young, and it makes me wonder if she was experiencing depression and just overwhelmed. It sounds like the argument was really explosive and got out of hand.
Been there. There's only so much people can take when they're trying to help others. She probably pushed her sister to her limit.
I mean either way if you’re living In someone’s house, do your part. I refuse to come home from working to a dirty house.

That was my impression as well. When I stayed with friends and had no cash I cooked, clean, babysat. They hated to see me go.

I had to rewatch this to make sure I was hearing all of this right. If I should ever be down on my luck and need to get into a shelter, I sure hope it is as clean and beautiful as that one is. So many people waiting for help would take your place in a second!

I have problem with people who complain about the rules at the shelter, those rules are there for a reason. Yes it is hard living there. Can you envision the level of chaos that would have ensued in the absence of rules?

Don't know what exactly happened with her mom and sister but from what she said she wasn't pulling her weight even if she wasn't working she should try and keep the house clean and her kids in check. And the way she was complaining about the shelter rules and the food she sounded kinda ungrateful.

She has some deeply suppressed emotional issue that is behind her situation. Since she doesn't seem to be an addict of any kind, it is harder to diagnose.
She lacks the logic to admit that having small children while homeless is completely irrational.

If you "love your kids" you get your life in order first before even having kids. Seems like she's been an irresponsible person her entire life and is only living in the homeless shelter because her sister kicked her out of the apartment that she (her sister) was paying for while according to her own words she wasn't working. Why wasn't she working and she has children? Only sympathy here goes to the children who are thrust into a situation they have no control over

It’s actually a good thing the father wants him and doesn’t want to leave him to struggle with the mother. It’s good the older kids are saving her sanity. I know her kids are her rocks right now. Too bad the daddies aren’t helping them.

I have a feeling we aren’t getting the full story here, something doesn’t seem right. I do feel empathy for her and her situation, especially towards her children but she does seem irresponsible. Her little boy is definitely in the right place with his father for the time being.
I'm sure no one wants to be in a shelter as I know I wouldn't want to be. Regarding the accommodation I think it looks lovely, spotless, safe and they are together, obviously after a while it would get in on you. Wish you all the best, seems like a good mother, God bless x

I’m sorry but I don’t believe we are getting the entire story with this woman. She seems to be delusional if she thinks there is something wrong with the father not wanting her to see her child. He’s the one with full custody and a stable environment. She also seems to have an attitude if she’s not able to live peacefully with her own family. She also needs to leave her own kids out of her adult situations. Seeing her treat her daughter as her own therapist is frustrating, and she will be bitter about this when she gets older. I should know, since both of my parents treated me the same way when I was younger.

She DOESNT HAVE CUSTODY, and THANK GOD, she only wants to bring chaos and destruction into that kids world, and the way she puts all that emotional burden onto her kids is DISGUSTING. Many of us grow up w crappy parents, NEWS ALERT, these moms seem to think they are the ONLY ones w problems in like, and fail to see the correlation between their ACTIONS and the CONSEQUENCES….poor kids of hers, they haven’t had any better an upbringing than she did, ESPECIALLY with the morbid obesity, she’s clearly over feeding them to get them to “leave her alone” that’s HORRIBLE parenting, nobody is changing my mind, she also is raising them to be entitled and become upset with disappointing circumstances (such as the apartment situation) why is she even telling them they’re going to have one when it’s a CHANCE only? These comments are sickening… I saw a woman owning her mistakes, making decisions with her head and not her heart, and keeping herself together for her babies. I heard/seen no complaining , laziness, or ungrateful behaviors. Takes nothing to be kind.❤
Exactly! These people are weird who commented berating her! Its not even her fault her life was unstable. She had a cracked head mother who left her at FIVE years old to babysit another baby...WTF. That didn't set this poor girl up for a healthy life at all and of course she looked for an outlet and had kids. But thank God she didn't turn to drugs like her mom. So I was hella upset to see her mom all cozy in a house when she's the one who made her kids life emotionally, mentally, financially unstable! It should of been the mom in a shelter paying back her sins and the siblings should of worked it put to be each others ride or die. And she was probably depressed and didn't want to work or clean....EVERY single person here has felt that...but when you have a hard life from a baby at 5 having to banysit..the bounce back is harder than for most other people.

She isn’t being hard enough! If you want 3 children, get out in the world and earn a real living!
She messed up by having children outside of a marriage or at least committed relationship. It’s just not a stable family unit without two parents. I’m not being mean and she’s not being too hard on herself by admitting she’s made some serious mistakes and is going to have to work twice as hard to create a stable situation now.

Plus, why is she having kids outside of a stable relationship? Children need a wholesome family environment. It seems though she got pregnant to men that were no good for her. Women should stop having babies outside of stable, loving relationships.

I take my hat off to this young mum.
Life throws us so many curve balls and she's been dealt some fucked up ones. But her heart and priorities are in the right place. Time will change her living situation and her family will flourish when she gets there. But only coz she's got her head switched on now and knows what she wants for her kids and herself.
19 years ago, I myself was in a similar situation with my toddler boys. It's hard but it gets better. With alittle support at the start all falls into place, aslong as you have that positive attitude.
Why would you dye your hair green and only work part-time when you have 2 kids and live in a shelter? Leave the baby daddy alone and focus on getting it together.

Okay so she had a roof over there heads and she didn’t find anything ya wright she was not trying to find a job when you want something bad enough there’s nothing going to stop you but she waited for her family to reach the Breaking point then instead of going out to find a job she just left now three adult people living underneath one roof and she made the decision to leave instead of trying to communicate with her family I’m just saying that we’re only hearing her side of the story I feel like something is missing

She sounds lazy, and her kids are spoilt and ungrateful. She had her kids, so it's for her to look after them. I don't see why her mother and sister should go out to work to support her and her kids, yet she can't keep the home clean. She didn't pull her weight.

@Arizona_lilly . You are correct. Where are these so called "fathers"? That's why women need to be more discerning as to whom they sleep with and have babies with. It's always the kids that suffer.
Me too she was in house with her family but not working why not work if you have the work permit not disabled but after chasing her away she got a job🤦🤦

How is she broke though?? Where is her money going to?? She is paying for food. The kids get medicaid for insurance All i can see she is paying for is maybe her phone and bus pass and toiletries. Where is her money going? . She should gave at least $5k saved up in 4 months. Or she is smoking it up or getting her nails done. Smh ! Prioritize the essentials lady!

And she gets a tax refund because she’s poor so I know that’s about 5-6K back during the spring season…. She might be financially irresponsible
There's more to the story than a argument. They probably talked to her multiple times about issues around the home and she could not cRe less until they put her out.

My kids were never allowed to be picky eaters, but if there was something they really couldn’t stand we’d at least have them try it. When I was staying in shelters it was very much like the one they showed here.
I remember doing one of these documentaries for the shelter I lived in .
It's easy to judge when you have never been in that situation. Her situation is hers and no matter how she got there she is trying. I have been in her shoes so I understand if it doesn't break you it makes you a stronger person. I'm 68 years old and all that unhappiness has long been gone but I understand and feel when people go through things in life. Life sometimes doesn't work out like you want. Praying for her and anyone going through this in life.
She is very lucky because 100% of the time around the state of Delaware if you're not of a certain color they automatically take your kids and put you out on the streets and refuse to help you, if you're of that specific skin color you're giving an apartment almost immediately or they put you up in a nice hotel with in 24 hours,give you gift cards and everything like that and treated like royalty!
So white people have it easier in Delaware. No surprise really.

I work for a state agency that help homeless. I know I don’t know what they have gone though, but I irritates me each time they complain about the food, the bed, they complain how little the gov. Gave them money for food, etc and make this an excuse not to stay in shelter but out of the street then harried the Government to give them free housing or apartment rental. Then some also request car or transportation allowance, or bills payment because they are behind months of rent of apt, electric or water.. jeezzzz

Please help your children to under that this place is safe, and they are not sleeping on the streets. There are a lot of kids who are less fortunate and your kids don’t appear to know the sense of value. The food is free and they are receiving a hot meal. You need to stay focused and remember to be responsible so that they will be responsible so that when you get a new place you can keep it clean; which is what got you in this situation from what it sounds like. Not being stable is not a good thing. Please try to get it together for the baby whom is being cared for by his father. The father could take him away as he feels that you are not a fit parent. This is your time to push towards greatness. Bless you!!🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Cigarettes are very expensive. That money could be put to better use.

This mother of three is broke but she managed to spend money on cigarettes a carton of cigarettes is over $100. That money would go a long way towards buying things for her children

They have daycares at those shelters so she could have worked and left her child and a daycare and not abandon him.
No JJ, No Apartment, No Happy Ending. These videos are so depressing. They all mostly end with people still homeless😢.

She should have left her kids with her mother while she dealt with the welfare check on her son. Her daughter is just 6 years old and does not understand the gravity of the situation.
I agree. The entire situation could be traumatic for them because they don't understand what's happening with their brother, but it especially broke my heart when she cried into her daughters arms. That's so scary for a 6 year old with no idea what's going on💔

If homeless means you still get food, clothes, cell phones, and a bed to sleep in, that’s not bad.
Her living space might be small for 3 people. But she could at least keep it tidy. My goodness 😮.

That is against the law to not let the parent see the child. There’s no court order banning her from seeing her child. Full custody I seriously doubt he will get it because courts love to give parents shared parenting as long as there is no abuse. Just because she’s temporarily in a shelter will not make her lose custody of her child. The father will not look good in court the minute he tells the judge he hasn’t let her see her child in a long time. Keep your text messages as proof.

many people myself included agree.....if she wanted to be taken seriously and get a GOOD paying job she would get a hair cut and cut off all that GREEN.....she looks stupid and appears lazy ....

She seems lazy. The shelter room was messy, so I can only imagine the state of the house she was sharing with her mother and sister, after a long day at work nobody wants to come home to find somebody else’s mess.
Poor kids . I saw this woman living in a home together w kids they eat in a hall together share a shower is better then nothing n yes a pass because this is t ur home everything has rules

She should take her son's father to court to have co. parents or get her full custody back again. The other parents should never stop the other parents from seeing their children.
She needed this reality check. She's in this position because she was irresponsible and lazy. Her sister and mom were over it. Take the L and accept the lesson. The rules of the shelter are there to help instill the structure that a lot of these people are lacking.

For those of you who are wondering why she had 3 children back to back with no father in sight with multiple men. She obviously stated that her parents were addicted to drxgs and humans being emotional creatures, she wanted to receive unconditional love. It seriously doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that. She won’t be the first struggling single mother nor the last. Mental healthcare is important. Not everyone comes from a good background with a good head on their shoulders knowing not to bring children into poverty. Yes, birth control is free but when you’re mentally and emotionally behind then you’re going to make this common mistake. She should have stopped at 1 but I see her side as well.
