- A young mermaid makes a deal with a sea witch to trade her beautiful voice for human legs so she can discover the world above water and impress a prince.
a lot of this dudes criticisms about this adaption is just him being ignorant about the original story book, the original movie and marine life in general. This remake was a lot better than people give it credit. Mainly because it fixed a lot of the issues the original has. My main one being Eric killing Ursula. It makes better sense it's Ariel who kills her in this version cause the entire point of King Triton being against humans is because they kill sea creatures. Why would he then accept Eric cause he killed Ursula?? It would just prove his point that humans are barbaric killers. Even if she's Evil it was never Eric's place to deal with the sea witch. It had to be Ariel (cause she started the mess) or Triton (cause he's the sea king)
Hearing the songs only reminds me how much better the originals are! Same way I felt with the Lion King!
