Filled with jealousy, the evil witch Maleficent (Eleanor Audley) curses Princess Aurora (Mary Costa) to die on her 16th birthday. Thanks to Aurora's guardian fairies (Verna Felton, Barbara Jo Allen, Barbara Luddy), she only falls into a deep sleep that can be ended with a kiss from her betrothed, Prince Phillip (Bill Shirley). To prevent Phillip from rescuing Aurora, Maleficent kidnaps and imprisons him. The good fairies are the last hope to free Phillip so that he can awaken Aurora.

One of the best comebacks in an older Disney film.
I call karma. Merriweather was a bigmouth when Aurora was a baby, and fueled Maleficent's ire when she was about to leave. So she gets the crap roles all throughout from Flora. (For example, Flora made the dress, insulted Merriweather, and when they got the wands out, Merriweather was relegated to mop-wrangler.)
@@brandiarmstrong2902 Merryweather is my favorite of the three (and blue has always also my favorite color lol) but she does have a big mouth. Again when they go to rescue Prince Philip she gives them away to the crow.

"Now, shall you deal with ME, O Prince - and all the powers of HELL!" That has got to be one of the rawest lines ever said by a Disney character, and I expected nothing less from the Mistress of All Evil.

I'm pretty sure the word "hell" had never been uttered in a Disney movie before (and I don't know if it has since?... probably in Hunchback). It was genuinely shocking at the time, and the whole fight sequence there remains as thrilling as I remember.

I think there is a working Disney theory that Maleficent is actually a servant of Chernabog. I like the theory and I believe it because they both love touring their victims. Chernabog did it in Fantasia and Maleficent did it with Philip. It just makes them iconic villains.
Despite Aurora being out of commission for a majority of this movie, it’s still a timeless classic, and Maleficent is a great Villain.
I agree. When thinking about Maleficent’s evil intentions about keeping Aurora forever asleep, it’s rather cruel that she intended to keep Prince Philip imprisoned and would release him when he’s an old man.
@@twist58 well at least this isn’t as bad as the original grim fairytale because according to that fairytale, she is asleep for 100 years total because she got a splinter… then there’s a king that comes to that castle, has sex with her while she’s asleep, she gets pregnant and has the babies again while she’s asleep. She didn’t end up, waking up until one of the babies is sucking on her finger and takes the splinter out… compared to the grim fairytale. This is child’s play.
Due to the timeless music by Tchaikovsky though ... which also gives a shout to George Bruns who did a fantastic job composing all the music.

fun fact the fight flora and merry weather have about the color of the dress was a real fight during the production - some wanted the dress to be blue and some wanted it pink- they decided to incorporate the argument into the movie

There's several such in-jokes in this movie. That bit about building a castle prematurely is a joke on how the Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland was built years before the movie was done. That's why the castle in the park looks nothing like the one in this movie.
Maleficent is STILL a ICONIC disney villain to this day
She's the best! One of my (if not the top) all time favorite villains, from my all time favorite Disney movie. I used to watch this movie all the time when I was a little kid, I had the whole thing memorized LOL.

The two fairies fighting over pink and blue was a great plot line because it’s a genuine argument. Also, both or neither are not solutions lol
Yeah why didn't they just combined them and make purple probablya light purple since it's pink and not a full red. Then both will be happy.
@@jamesstutz6907Conceptually, purple would’ve been a good color choice. However from an artistic perspective, Aurora’s mother wore purple and I’m sure that the artistic team wanted Aurora’s dress to stand out more, to avoid confusion between the two of them.

Prince Philip is such an underrated Disney prince! Dude literally fought a dragon for his love. Plus he wanted to go against royalty for wanting to marry a “peasant girl” but really it was Aurora lol.
This movie is a masterpiece. Press pause and every shot is a painting.
For 1959 the Philip vs Maleficent battle was pretty action packed. Once that beat hits 29:56 I get chills throughout that entire sequence
22:30 I can’t imagine a Disney movie that got me more scared as a child than Maleficent briefly appearing in the fireplace like that and then slowly fading away without saying a single word. The creepy music also adds to it as well.
Oh, you too? I'm glad I wasn't the only one who got scared shitless by that sequence. The whole sequence was pure nightmare fuel. To this day, just a glimpse of that scene and the first few notes of that music are sending a cold chill down my spine.
What's interesting is that a lot of people seem to misunderstand is that it's actually the FAIRIES who are the heroes and main characters of this movie.
This movie was powerful as the last Disney princess ever made by Walt disney himself. Maleficent was always the villain I wanted to see the most in Disney world every time I went there
Maleficent scared the livin’ hell out of me as a kid and she still does till this day.
The characters of this film are very good, mostly with the three fairies and Maleficent, my favorite of them all. Her VA (the late Eleanor Audley) was not only responsible for providing live reference material for the animators of her character, but also voicing and acting for her other villainous character, Lady Tremaine, the wicked stepmother of Cinderella. Maleficent is among the greatest and most iconic Disney villains!
If you have ever seen the television show Green Acres she plays Oliver’s mother. I don’t know if it’s still available but it used to be on RUclips. I can’t remember if it was the second or third episode of the show. I could be wrong but I don’t think it was the shows first episode. She was an icon actress who was also in various radio shows. I’m not sure but I think I heard that she was a regular on either the I Love Lucy or the Lucy Show.
Aurora and Prince Philip waltzing during "Once Upon a Dream" song has always been my favorite scene in this movie also Maleficent is an iconic Disney villain 💕🎶🎥😈

The voice actress for Aurora (both speaking and singing) is Mary Costa -- then at the start of what turned out to be a substantial operatic career (and still with us, at 94). I love her work in the film. All the music we hear (with the exception of the drinking song) derives from Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty ballet, and I think it's a superb example of orchestral underscoring.
Mary Costa can be both seen and heard in the 1972 Johann Strauss bio-pic, *The Great Waltz.*
There's a beautiful video about her by Dizography that talks about her whole career with Disney to her operatic career. And what a career she had!! She truly is a gem!
Even though it is not mentioned in the film, Maleficent's pet raven is named Diablo.
Queen Leah is the first mother of a Disney Princess to be alive during the film. This would not happen again until Mulan (1998).
The restoration process involved four painstaking steps. The first was to scan the original negative into a computer and subject the entire print to a deflickering procedure, evening out all the worn images and creating a cohesive canvas upon which the restoration artists could work. This was then followed by rotoscoping to extract the principal characters, dust-busting to remove all traces of dust and scuffing, and then re-inserting the characters into their cleaned-up backgrounds. Then all 180,000 frames would be completely repainted by up to 40 people in a process that clocked up nearly 48,000 hours. Once complete, the final product is then scanned onto a new negative.
The prince is named after Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh and husband of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain, as well as Prince Philip.
A flamethrower was used to create the dragon breath sound effect for the climax of the movie. Castanets were used for the sound of its snapping jaws.
Bill Shirley and Mary Costa auditioned together to ensure that their voices complemented each other's.
For several years it was largely unknown who voiced Queen Leah (Aurora's mother), due to her being uncredited. Her two lines were possibly recorded by Verna Felton, who recorded most dialogue as Flora.
The art direction for this movie was inspired by European paintings French medieval tapestries, French gothic manuscripts, and French and German architectures.
Despite being the titular character, Sleeping Beauty/Aurora/Briar Rose is only on screen for 18 minutes, and only has 18 lines of dialogue, making some people believe that her fairy godmothers are the main protagonists of the film. Furthermore, despite Aurora being marketed in a pink dress for all of her merchandise, her famous dress is blue for six minutes, about a third of her time on screen, while her dress is pink for only about 13 seconds.
This launched Mary Costa's successful career as an opera singer.
Shot on a 35mm Technirama double-frame negative (which is as big as two regular Academy frames joined together) running horizontally through the animation camera, with each frame photographed three times (once with a red filter, once with a blue filter, and once with a green filter). This negative was then printed on both CinemaScope-compatible anamorphic film and Super Technirama 70mm film, the first film released in Super Technirama 70.
The castle for Sleeping Beauty is based on the Neuschwanstein castle in Bavaria, Germany. It was also used for Snow White and Cinderella.
The music when Aurora and Prince Philip descend the stairs during the finale is the Royal Anthem of France, the former national anthem before the French Revolution.
In the scene where Maleficent appears in the fireplace and hypnotizes Aurora, the female vocalist heard while the fire is burning out is saying "Aurora!" and is sung by none other than Mary Costa herself. While difficult to hear in the film, it is much clearer on the score/soundtrack.
In active production from 1951 until the end of 1958, setting a record (for which it is tied with another 70mm film, The Black Cauldron (1985)) for being the Disney animated film with the longest production schedule.
This is the only Disney movie with square trees.
For a long time, it has been largely unknown who voiced Lord Duke (Royal Herald), possibly due to Hans Conried being replaced by Taylor Holmes for the voice role of King Stefan in the movie's final cut. It can be inferred that while recording some voice lines as King Stefan for the demo recording and that Duke almost has the same Mid-Atlantic accent in higher pitch, Conried possibly recorded some dialogues as Duke in his exciting high pitch and possibly provided one yawning sound for Sir Minstrel, though never confirmed or solved either.
The second and final Disney animated feature to be filmed in the 2.55:1 aspect ratio. The first was Lady and the Tramp (1955).
Despite being released theatrically early in 1959, the film was completed in 1958 (MCMLVIII) according to the opening credits.
Although the film is implied to be set in France, Princess Aurora, Maleficent, King Stefan, and Lord Duke all speak in English accents while Prince Phillip, Mistress Flora, Mistress Merryweather, Mistress Fauna, King Hubert, and Queen Leah have American accents.
The sound effect artist James MacDonald was tasked with finding a suitable sound effect for the fiery breath of Maleficent's dragon form. He had the idea to use the sound of real-life flamethrowers, which he found in training films produced by the United States Army.
According to a line by Prince Philip, the film is set in the 14th century.
When the good fairies arm Prince Philip with a sword and shield, the symbol on the shield is a cross. The implication is that a Christian symbol is used to defeat a demonic-looking villain, providing the film with a religious subtext.
When the good fairies place a sleeping spell on the entire kingdom, several heraldic banners are seen. A few of these banners display the fleur-de-lis, a symbol of the French monarchy.
In the film, Prince Philip claims that his old-fashioned father has yet to catch up with life in the 14th century. In history, the 14th and the 15th century are typically grouped as the "Late Middle Ages". The relative prosperity of the High Middle Ages (c. 1000-1300) ended abruptly with a series of famines and plagues, such as the Great Famine (1315-1317) and the Black Death (1346-1353). Throughout the Late Middle Ages, Europe was experiencing a rapid population decline, social unrest, and endemic warfare.
Maleficent's scream when Prince Phillip's sword gets stuck in her heart is the very same scream the Queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) emitted when falling off a cliff at the end of the movie, even though Maleficent's character only uses the first two seconds of the original seven-second-long scream used in "Snow White".

The first time Blood was visually spilled in a Disney film. Much to the shock of the audience. The classic films rock.
Original drafts for Bambi were gonna have him find his mom's corpse with her head laying in a puddle of blood if my memory is right. They cut it from the finished product.

I'm sure that the reason Aurora still had to be woke up is because the sleep wasn't of Malificent's intent, as originally mean Aurora to die but thanks to Merryweather changing it to sleep, that part became the magic of the faires.
Sleeping Beauty is a visual spectacle! It is described as an animated tapestry and it is clear with the overall design of the film and as an artist/animator, I enjoy that aspect of it a lot.
If you really think about it, it's not that the fairies didn't know how to cook or sew, what's more likely is that Flora and Fauna changed roles on the last day. And in an awesome version of irony, Merryweather was the most against living like a mortal, but her lines imply that she was the most competent of the three. She wanted to make the dress, and when she couldn't she wanted to make the cake. She also knew that "tsp" stood for "teaspoon".
Nothing beats the classic.
The scene where Aurora got caught in the trance and lured to the wheel scared the shit outta me as a child.
Aurora and Philip dancing in the sky was an idea that have been rejected twice in the first two Disney Princess movies. First in Snow White, she and the Prince were going to dance on the clouds while she was sining Someday My Prince Will Come but Disney rejected it so we could see the reactions of the dwarfs. In Cinderella, she and Prince Charming was going to dance on the clouds while they sung Dancing on A Cloud but it was changed to So This Is Love and the setting to be in the castle gardens.
The music is one of the greatest things about this. The final battle during Phillips escape and Maleficent using her magic to fight him(both at a distance and as a dragon)never fails to get my heart pumping.

Recently, I’ve learned that the storybook prop that was used to open up the film is actually still around to this day, preserved at one of the Disney museums.

I’ve seen the “Waking Sleeping Beauty” documentary. All I got to say is there’s always going to be some dirty stuff going on behind the magic. I can’t help but appreciate the hard work Disney “creative” despite the crap and drama with Disney “corporate”. I’d like to see a documentary involving the more recent struggle with Disney “corporate vs creative” (cuz it’s definitely there!).
The score seems timeless because it's from the ballet "The Sleeping Beauty" by Tchsikovsky. My mom was a ballet dancer so I heard this music through two different filters throughout my childhood.

This is a great Disney classic! The music is so grand and Maleficent is the best Disney villain of all time! Strange that it wasn't a big hit when it came out in 1959
I love this movie for it's the perfect fairy tale classic. I mean, you have kings and queens, medieval castles, princes with noble steeds, princesses to be saved, faries and even a DRAGON, what more could we wish for?
This movie was part of my childhood, the part where Aurora follows the green light of Maleficent always brings me chills🥶 It's good that you reacted to it❤
In medieval culture, not inviting someone to a royal gathering - in this case, Aurora's birth - was *EXTREMELY* disrespectful. And the fact that the King and Queen decided to summon the three good fairies instead? That was just playing favorites. Soooo... I do get why Maleficent was upset (still, she shouldn't have cursed little Aurora, in my opinion). ^^;
The aspect ratio was promoted by the studio at the time as "Technorama 70"; Disney's last animated film before this, Lady and the Tramp, had been the first animated movie ever to be shot in widescreen, and the studio followed it up immediately with the super-widescreen of Sleeping Beauty. The style of the background art was supervised by the wonderful painter Eyvind Earle, whose distinctive use of perfectly rectangular vegetation can be seen in many of the forest shots.
I remember as a child having a Disney Sleeping Beauty dress up toy. It consisted of peel off vinyl pieces of clothing for Princess Aurora on a background of the movie. I played with it so much that the sticking part stopped working. I wish now that I had kept it for nostalgia.
There's certainly an eerie vibe about this movie. Out of all Disney Princess movies this one kind of scares and tenses me up idk why..?!?!?
Interesting little fact that I looked up from sleeping beauty lore:
The spinning wheel is a symbol for maturity. So by pricking her finger on it, Maleficent was actually giving Aurora the opportunity to grow up and be her own person. By burning all the spinning wheels in the kingdom, the king was essentially saying, "No, she'll never grow up. Ever."
So, technically, Maleficent was trying to protect her...and all of the Maleficent LA movies are right
One of my favorite Disney movies since childhood. A lot of people criticize it for Aurora and Philip being flat characters. But I think they're missing the point - the three good fairies and Maleficent are the ones driving the story.
Animation at it's best. So much better than the stuff they do with computers.
All the music in the movie are done from Peter Tchaikovsky coming from his ballet The Sleeping Beauty, being done by Disney composer George Bruns, who later did the music for 101 Dalmatians, The Absent-Minded Professor (a live action movie), The Sword in the Stone, The Jungle Book, The Love Bug (another live action movie), The Aristocats and Robin Hood, in addition writing the title song in the Humphery the Bear cartoon In the Bag, co-writing Yo-ho, A Pirate's Life For Me for Pirates of the Caribbean Ride with Xavier Atencio (which is also used in the movie franchise)-
The storymen and animators couldn't decide on whever Aurora's dress should be blue or pink so they came up with Flora and Merryweather arguing about it should be pink or blue. In the offical Disey Princess line-up Aurora's dress is pink because that's the last color it was shown before the book closed up at the end.
Probably a little late, but “Waking Sleeping Beauty” is not a documentary on the animated film but the slump the Disney Company was in between the time of Walt’s death in 1966 and the animation renaissance that began in the late 80s and early 90s.
I love the fairies. Their dynamic reminds me of the Golden Girls.
In one of the popular vesions (not the original) of the tale, when the princess falls sleep, the whole kingdom falls with her. The witch made a big forest (or labyrinth, I don't remmember well) for prevent any prince to made his way to kiss her, so everyone is sleeping for 100 years. I think Disney wanted to incorporeted this elements of taht version to the movie
My favorite bit of trivia about this movie is that after about the halfway point of the movie, neither Aurora nor Philip have any more dialogue. This wasnt by design, either; production on this movie was a nightmare, between a control-freak director working the animators into various brekadowns, having to adjust to animating in CinemaScope, and a rapidly spiraling budget. At some point, the lead voice actors left the production.
Fortunately, since the film focuses so tightly on the conflict between the fairies, you can hardly notice.
The part where Aurora gets hypnotised used to scare me as a child!

I remember watching this movie all the time as a kid. It's still one of my favorites. I wish Disney still made movies like this. I love the more recent movies like Frozen, Wreck-it-Ralf, and Moana, but there is just something magical about old classic movies had that almost everything after 2010 lacks.
Ah my childhood in a nutshell! I hope more classic Disney will be reacted to in the future. May I recommend the Rescuers, it was made in the 70’s. But either way, great video Tim! ❤️
Fun fact: the voice actress who played Maleficent had tuberculosis during the filming period of Sleeping Beauty. This made her laugh more haunting to hear than normal. Also she voiced the step mother in Cinderella.
One of my favorite Disney film scores of all time. It was my first. Still my favorite.
This was the last Disney animated film of the Golden Age. The 50s marked the end of an era with Sleeping Beauty. Then came the Silver Age starting with 101 Dalmatians.
It was also the first project animation great Floyd Norman early did as an inbetweener. He was the first black animator ever hired by the studio.
In most references, the Golden Age is said to be 1937 to 1942, followed by the Package Age, 1943 to 1949. 1950 is considered part of the Silver Age, up to 1967. The movies produced after Walt's death are considered the Bronze Age, and then gave way to the Disney Renessaince (sorry wrong spelling), then the Transitional Age, then the Revival, etc. The name Silver Age may be a misnomer, however, as it was the era of Disneyland being launched and was a very successful time. Disney was more ambitious and it mostly paid off. 101 Dalmatians, The Sword in the Stone and The Jungle Book are all part of this era, while the Bronze Era really began with The Aristocats in 1970.
@@strawberrysoulforever8336 Bronze Age or Dark Age (the latter because Walt died in 1966 and the studio was on its own with new people hired and some of Walt’s top animators came out of retirement to assist them).
@@twist58 That's what I said, after Walt's death. The last film Walt worked on was The Jungle Book, and the last movie he approved was The Aristocats. He died before The Jungle Book was released in 1967, and the Bronze Era opened with The Aristocats three years later. It was fairly positively received when it came out, but the company struggled for most of the era and there's a noticeable dip in quality in many of the fully animated films until 1989. The Black Cauldron barely made back half of its budget and it was outgrossed by the Care Bears Movie, which was released the same year.

When I was a kid, I got a gift card to Toys R Us. It was enough for about two items. One was a Barbie doll but I had to choose between a movie or another doll as the second item and I ended up buying this movie. It became a childhood and still adulthood favorite. Ironically, my two favorite Disney princesses are Aurora and Mulan, the two opposite sides of the princess spectrum.
I always find it funny how the title is 'sleeping beauty' yet Prince Phillip gets more screen time than Aurora
And also the fairies and Maleficent. Also just like Aurora, both of her parents and King Hubert also have less screen time
I grew up with classical music, and as far as I can tell, ALL the music in this film was taking directly from Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty ballet. Even the songs used his melodies.

Maleficent’s final line before becoming a dragon freaking gave me chills as a kid when I first saw this movie as a kid, and even as an adult now it still does till this day! I’m telling ya, modern Disney Villains are nothing compared to Maleficent, she is the true queen of Disney villainy 😳
Also yes! Snow White is a pretty good decent movie! And not only it was Walt Disney’s first ever animated movie but it was also the first ever animated movie in general! It changed cinema forever 😁
I once wrote a modern fanfic of this movie with characters transplanted from the Total Drama series. As far as the fairies went, Courtney still gave her beauty, but Bridgette gave her optimism instead of song, and Gwen's gift was heavily implied to be smarts, but she had to soften Heather’s curse. That's because Lindsay, the princess, is the classic dumb blonde, although she's so nice she's easy to love.

Throwing this in because I have to on reactions to this (it's my equivalent of Viggo's toe!) - the noise of Maleficent striking her staff on the floor is the same sound effect as her jaws snapping shut when she's in dragon form.

Indeed, Disney's 1959 animated adaptation of of Sleeping Beauty (originally a fairytale written in 1697) is a timeless classic.
Maleficent herself is definitely one of the best animated Disney villains.
By the way you should check out some more Silver Era Disney films (50s to 60s), both feature-length ones and short films.
- The music had its work cut out for them given that the orchestration is adapted from a ballet version of this story.
- I don't think people realize that the moment we the audience KNOW that the man in the woods is Prince Phillip, is the moment he is announced as he returns to the castle. That A. justifies the fairies' reaction to Aurora meeting a stranger, and B. it introduced a possible conflict in the plot aka a love triangle. Until NOPE turns out that was Phillip all along.
It was a good movie, beautiful art in the background but I wish there was more screen time for aurora/ briar Rose.

One of my Favorite Disney Movies i loved Growing up. Aurora was beautiful and Phillip was my Favorite Disney Prince. i always have a good laugh with the 3 Fairies ^_^. I love Maleficent, She was a great and scary Villain, specially her Awesome Dragon Form. It sure is a timeless Disney Classic.😃
Four things I love about this movie: first the fairies are the main characters, we are living the story through what they live and it's great ! Also, the music which is gorgeous is made from the Sleeping Beauty ballet written by Tchaïkovski in 1889. I love those details. Finally the art style is amazing and still my favourite in all Disney movies. The combination between 1950's animation style for the characters mixed with Medieval paintings and false perspectives of the backgrounds is great and works perfectly. This movies is a masterpiece. Finally, Maleficent is the best Disney villain ever made (so petty but I love it haha). Everytime shes on screen, her presence is so imposing and she's so scary at times, the whole scene with her leading Aurora to the spinning wheel is so well done !
Ps there's a book about maleficent's back story.
While I do wish we got a remake that fleshed out Aurora and Phillip more, this film just FEELS like an old fairy tale. Really wish "Wish" felt that way.
I'm sure it would have delved more into that had production on this movie not been an utter nightmare
@@christopherwall2121 I'm not so sure about that. Disney films at the time were more about story, not character psychology/analysis, from what I've seen--as with many older movies.

@@christopherwall2121 I'll have to take your word for it. I know a lot of Disney movies had tight deadlines and issues in production, though I've never heard of the older ones really having a deep inlook for some of their characters.
Phillip feels more fleshed out but not Aurora’s parents as they could have been fleshed more

Love Sleeping Beauty. Some people are wondering why they couldn't waited like a day or a week after her birthday to return her home. I also seen a different version of this and Sleeping Beauty slept for a hundred years before a prince came along and broke the spell.

This is easily my favorite classic disney princess movie, while I do enjoy the story, I particularly love this movie for the music and artwork! The singer for Aurora, Mary Costa has such a high range but also is deep sounding and it gives Aurora a unique voice compared to the other classic princesses who have fairly light and high voices. The artwork is by far my favorite part tho, the contrast between the vibrate colors next to these neutral back grounds or very dark colors just work so well together! Also I just love the painted background era of Disney!
Malifient's death scream is the same scream as The Evil Queen's scream from Sow White when she falls from the cliff in her hag form.
This has always been my favorite Disney traditionally animated movie. It’s absolutely gorgeous from an animation standpoint. There is actually a really good documentary about the making of this called “Waking Sleeping Beauty “ which is really cool too.

I’ve always loved this movie, especially the fairies & Maleficent. One small note about the cooking & dress making is I believe those are things those specific fairies had never done rather than things they’d never done period in 15 years. I believe this is the case because Merryweather comments Fauna had never made a cake and Flora says to let her do it as it’s “her” last chance making me think one of them, likely Merryweather, normally handled the cooking.
And the sewing. Flora seems to bully Merriweather a lot
Although this movie is not one of my favorite Disney movies, I have always loved the animation. It’s so gorgeous!
Just clicked this video, haven't started it yet, but just wanted to say before I do that for as far back as my memory goes, and I can even remember some things from my toddler days, this has always been my top number one favorite Disney movie of all time ever.
I love the characters, I love the story, I love the magic, I love the music (which was adapted from the music of Tchaikovsky's "The Sleeping Beauty" ballet), I love the settings, I love the dialogue, I love the humor, I love the way its drawn, I just love everything about this movie. This maybe a shocker to most people. But my favorite character in this is the Green Fairy Fauna. Why many ask? she is the only one that is pretty neutral. She is level headed and didnt cause any issues at all with anyone she is the more calmer polite one. Merryweather and Flora always fighting causing issues, as she is like . eh id make the cake though i cant cook which that scene in itelf is funny as heck. She is also the one that says she dont understand love, which gave Flora the idea. She also just seems very chill very nice respectful one. Then i love the jester then Prince Phillips dad then Phillip. Magnificent is the most coolest villian ever. 2nd best Disney movie to Aladdin/ Return of Jafar,/ Robin Hood and Sword in stone all 4 tied favorite disney movies.. Then this beautiful masterpiece if finally got a tiny cake topper of Fauna to have as a collectiable.
