I was ''born ''a muslim (in Albania) ..I have listened to a lot of Christian preachers ...Guru preachers etc. But listening to Rabbi Manis brings you closer to God without being pressured ..no matter where you come from . God bless him ! (Oh ..and I was born a socialist but I am conservative.😊 )

Once again, which god? There is as much evidence for Thor, Wotan, the Greek gods, the Roman gods, the gods ancient Angles worshipped (for fear it will send crop failures, disease, thunderstorms, pestilence etc). Believers worship their particular "god" for fear of being barbecued or punishment. What sort of all powerful deity would need to threaten it's devotees to obtain subjugation?

What he mentions is accurate even from a psychological standpoint. Carl Jung echoed a similar sentiment. This is reminiscent of a Buddhist tale: 'Blind men touching different parts of an elephant perceive only a fragment of the whole, each describing something different, yet all descriptions pertain to the same elephant.'

I agree when it comes to beliefs in G-d. I disagree w the rabbi when it comes to ethics; like, " murder is wrong," in that some ethics are also built-in biologically. (Except that beliefs can get tangled in upon themselves;. I do believe G-d created creation, so G-d, ultimately, created biology.)
Love & ethics are entwined when religion is healthy. Species w helpless young (us & a lot of other mammals) must love their babies or the babies won't survive & the species dies off. (Darwin, BTW, said there are love genes in species w helpless young, but these writings were pretty much ignored till the 1970s, because the rapacious colonial policies of England were rationalized by Darwin's theories on instinctive competition; a lack of critical thinking skills that persists to this day) . . . anyway; to cut thru my rambling primatologist Franz de Haals has shown that bonobos & other great ape species (we're in the great apes once you move beyond the homo designation) have a sense of fairness & of keeping agreements.
In studies de Haals would reward chimps w treats for learning something. When he had two of them doing the same process, and both succeeding, but the treats were different (one got grapes, which they love, & the other got something boring) the one who didn't get grapes got miffed. When you watch clips of it it's easy to see in the body language of the one who didn't get grapes, that he's thinking; "that's not fair! You gave him something better & I should get that, too."
Religious fundamentalists got upset w de Haal's research because they believed only humans have a moral sense, & they get it from G-d. Animals can't have morality because they don't believe in G-d.
Me; I have no problem w de Haal's studies. Morality comes from the Creator, & the Creator puts it in the biology of species w helpless young....

This is so deep. As an orthodox Jew, I never thought about this because it always was "obvious" to me. So thank you for explaining it in this way for everyone to understand it.
I must, however, call you out on your last comment. Hitler's war against the Jews had nothing to do with religion. It was a RACIAL war. He killed atheists and Rabbis alike. That is what set him apart from all our other enemies throughout the ages.

I love listening to Rabbi, but I want to add to what he spoke about. G-d makes Himself known to everyone at some point in their lives. A great example is in Exodus 9:15. G-d wanted His name known everywhere on earth. All nations, all people, at every corner have knowledge of the One true G-d. We can't dictate what G-d's judgment will be for each person, but we can't deny His Word. No matter where you are born and into what religion, at some point G-d will reveal Himself. He is not a liar. As a follower of Yeshua, the gospel has also given knowledge of G-d to many nations because Jesus doesn't and can't exist without Judaism. Violence in "religion" can't be discussed without mentioning the wars in the Tanach. Where God's people literally fought in battles in order to honor Him and their tribes as the chosen people who the Messiah will come from.
    Psalm 14:1-4
To the choirmaster. Of David. The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds; there is none who does good. The Lord looks down from heaven on the children of man, to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God. They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one. Have they no knowledge, all the evildoers who eat up my people as they eat bread and do not call upon the Lord?
    Psalm 86:8-10
There is none like you among the gods, O Lord, nor are there any works like yours. All the nations you have made shall come and worship before you, O Lord, and shall glorify your name. For you are great and do wondrous things; you alone are God

    neid!”
Psalmid (Laulud)122:Palve Jeruusalemma hea käekäigu eest
    1 Palveteekonna laul Taavetilt.
    Ma rõõmustasin, kui mulle öeldi:
    „Lähme Issanda kotta!”
2 Meie jalad seisid su väravais,
    Jeruusalemm.
    3 Jeruusalemm, kes oled ehitatud
    nagu hästi kokkuliidetud linn,
    4 kuhu läksid üles suguharud,
    Issanda suguharud tunnistuseks Iisraelile
    tänama Issanda nime.
5 Sest sinna on seatud aujärjed kohtumõistmiseks,
    aujärjed Taaveti kojale.

    6 Paluge rahu Jeruusalemmale!
    Käigu hästi nende käsi,
    kes sind armastavad!
7 Rahu olgu su müüride vahel,
    hea käekäik su kuninglikes kodades!
8 Oma vendade ja oma sõprade pärast
tahan ma nüüd öelda: Rahu sinule!
9 Issanda, meie Jumala koja pärast
    tahan ma otsida sulle head.
Jesaja 30:Issand tõotab oma rahvale armu anda
    18 Ja ometi ootab Issand,
    et teile armu anda,
    ja jääb kõrgeks,
    et teie peale halastada,
    sest Issand on õiguse Jumal,
õndsad on kõik, kes teda ootavad.
Baaruk 5: Sest Jumal juhib Iisraeli rõõmuga
    oma auhiilguse valgusesse,
    halastuse ja õigusega,
    mis temalt tuleb.”
    Saalomoni Tarkuseraamat
    11: Halastamise põhjus
23 Sina halastad aga kõigi peale,
    sest et sa suudad kõike,
    ja vaatad mööda inimeste pattudest,
    et nad meelt parandaksid.
24 Sest sina armastad kõike, mis olemas on,
ega põlga midagi, mida sa oled teinud,
sest sina ei olegi loonud midagi,
    mida sa ise vihkaksid.
25 Sest kuidas saaks midagi püsida,
    kui sina ei tahaks,
    või kuidas säiliks see,
    keda sina ei ole kutsunud?
    26 Sina aga säästad kõiki,
sellepärast et nad on sinu omad,
    Issand, hingede armastaja.
Estri raamatu lisad 3:2 „Issand, Issand, kõigeväeline Kuningas! Sinul on meelevald kõige
    58 Kiitke, taevad, Issandat,
laulge talle ja ülendage teda igavesti!

A social construct is a concept that exists not in objective reality, but as a result of
subject and divisive human interaction. It exists because humans agree that it exists.
Many varying westernized lifestyles past, present and future are a result of the overall
westernized social construct as each lifestyle is connected to different aspects of it
such as the concept of race, nationality, gender, religion, politics, academia, lifestyle.
Examples of the social construction of reality can be seen in many social institutions.
A courthouse is just a building until a community agrees that it is a place for the practice
of legal fiction. Legal Fiction is meaningless unless groups of people agree that it exist
and agree to abide by and enforce it. Same applies to a synagogue, church, temple and
the concept of religion, it is all meaningless unless groups of people agree that the god
they worship exist and agree to follow his/her/their laws.
Even in situations where the phrase “social construction” is not employed, the argument
that religion is a culturally determined field that emerges during a specific historical period
and is subsequently imposed upon or adopted by others is an argument for religion being
    a socially constructed concept.
Social constructs exist because people agree that they exist. They play an essential role
in helping people understand and interact with the world in which they live. While we often
accept the construct and it's assortment of lifestyles as inherent truths, it is important to
remember that many of these "truths" are human-made and can be conveniently changed
at anytime for any reason under legal fictions rule of convenience. It's only real because
you think it is even though it's not.

I'm sorry but this rabbi isn't very helpful.
On one hand he says that God doesn't hold it over our heads if we've been raised in a different culture/religion.
But then says God hopes we know when we can see what is wrong with our particular theology/ ideology.
Then God can't really hold it over my head if I refuse that he exists and if I choose to be an atheist, there should be nothing wrong with that as God should understand it's not my fault because of the culture I've been raised in.

Even if I had my choice of faiths, this is the faith I would choose. When you study it truly, you will find it very much fair, and very much forgiving of human frailty. I would like this faith, or no faith at all (out of the faiths I know about).

However we are naturally religious, its value is it makes us free of God, makes men more Universal in nature, the Universe has no rules, religion gives us the Atheist, including Ricky Gervais.
But as we stumble through life naturally religious, we can also merge with the higher power and intelligence who's character is Love.

Merging increases humility ( you can also silently chant who you are and the down side of living in religion, ) humour, speed, telepathy, even some control of your weather. Desperate argument? Tens of millions believed in a geocentric solar system. Does the number of ‘believers’ lend a shred of credence to the claim? Let’s not get into flat earth earthers….

Ollie - I know you mean well, but Santa Manis is a REALLY bad option to have on your show. He himself has MANY very questionable, heretical views, as in why G-d needs us...???? Since when??And why it's OK for Jewish women to wear extremely long sheitels....where does tznius come in?? Read up on him, do your research and you'll find out for yourself. Everything we believe in has to come from a pure root - and as the years have gone on, he's picked up very WRONG ideas, and because he speaks in such a calm, soothing tone, people fall for it.

Very unbecoming for a supposedly observant Jew like you to be insulting a Talmid Haham. Shame on you. Such an idiotic and ignorant comment.!

Because you don't like what he says doesn't mean he is wrong.
Learn some zohar and you'll tell if good needs us or not.
Learn what tzenius is and you'll come to realise you've got the wrong end of the stick.
I know that R Yossel mizrachi doesn't like him, but he also hasn't learned chasidus if he ever learned through the zohar he definitely hasn't learned it without biases.

@@How_to_613 It's not only Rabbi Mizrachi. There are many other rabbonim who are horrified about these kefira ideas he spouts. Not to mention the other side of him that seems to put a high priority on good old fashioned money, or the unfortunate case of what his son had to go to court for. He's definitely not what he once was, and anyone with a brain and eyes to see are very aware of it.

@@mandyadler4536 Let's put it this way, if those ideas are from the Zohar you are calling the Zohar kefira.
Instead of calling it kefira let's go through the points you think are controversial and we'll see if there's a source to it.

Not true - he's very inspirational, and you can learn a lot from him. But just take it or leave it, instead of all those getting their knickers in a twist over him in these comment sections.

Rabbi's oratory is for headliner captions to get YT clicks income. He is a good salesman orator. His dialogue is masterfully presented to convince the unwary viewer to go along with his indoctrinated interpretations of Torah rules, regulations, instructions, policies and procedures.A cult style opinionated doctrine that requires unwavering devotion to a set of religious beliefs and practices. Tantamount to coercive persuasion, with a systematic effort to persuade allegiance, command and action against the desire, will, knowledge of the individual viewer.

Choose to be an athiest, I'm sure the Rabbi doesn't really give two hoots. He tells you his life is better for having faith, and wants to share that with others. Full stop.
