What do you think so far? Are you going to tune in for the full episode on Saturday 25th?
Without commenting on the subject matter, how rare is it nowadays to see this level of respect and professionalism, where someone actually listens to the answer of a question without interrupting the other person..
Two men having a conversation about personal opinions without it turning into an argument and talking over each other. Just respect between the two of them.
Imagine piers Morgan trying to have a conversation like this
I love Ricky’s description. We are so lucky to be here, so instead of concentrating on whether there’s a second life or not, make sure you enjoy and fulfil your first one 🥰
This is a fantastic, respectful dialogue. Even though they didn't agree, they never interrupted each other. They also didn't talk past one another, they actually listened and responded to the other person's points. Bravo!
Bloody hell I've been waiting 15 years for these two legends to have this discussion! Thanks, Russell.
Brand baffles me.... Every time he talks, my head hurts - but on the other hand, everything he says, is very insightful and thought provoking.
That's most serious I've seen Ricky Gervais, especially as I though Russell didn't half ramble on for a couple of years at the beginning, lol. I was expecting Ricky to say......"you what?"
Russel Brand has the best grasp of the English language, except for the full stop
I can't notice a difference between a philosopher and a brilliant comedian.
I used to be an avid atheist, but now consider myself to be spiritualist. I realised that we are all connected; Mother Earth is ALIVE and she breathes. Water DOES have memory. I was a scientist; I still am but now I have faith. Thank you Russell for helping me along this journey. We live and we learn......and when I pass my energy will move to another of Mother Earth's creations, be it a drop of dew on a flower. I am no longer scared of dying! Xxx
The fact that this is only 10 and a half minutes long is borderline criminal.
Recovering from a very serious suicide attempt, I kept asking god/planet earth/energies etc. 'why am I still here?'. The answer came to in the shape of motherless kittens. I've had cats my whole life, but for the first time I had to be their mother, put their well-being before mine, I had to stop feeling sorry for myself but take care of these helpless being, and above all they taught me true love. Life is not about how much one is loved, but how much one loves. I still cope with my demons every day, but I love all animals sooo much. I love nature so much. I love the good deeds of amazing people sooo much, or a beautiful piece of music/art/sunset/joke ..... Life is about loving. And that keeps me going, knowing the more I love and care, the better it is for all.
I love Ricky Gerais's comedy. He has a perspective toward the existence of God that to him is obvious. In actuality, it is merely an opinion based on a personal decision to believe it. Religious people have a differing 'opinion' that is also based on their personal decision to believe something. Since neither perspective is provable, it will perpetually be debated. I appreciate that Gervais and Brand can do so cordially. If only politicians could do the same.
Two talented, kind and grounded souls. Hearing their philosophical take 'on life', via their enriched journey 'in life' so far is a treat for the ear'oles!
There is a Buddhist saying “We are not here to find the meaning of life, we are here to experience it”.
After Russells first oratory I half expected Ricky to say " Oh I'm sorry.. I had you on mute. Were you talking?"
I love listening to you two! What a testament to how we should all conversate.
I loved this conversation! Will definitely be listening to more. Thank you Russell 💗🙏🏻
