This process gave me a headache around 4 months ago. I had multiple letters & numbers. Sometimes, the subtract wouldn't let me use it other times when I clicked subtract everything removed like your demonstration showed. This video is great. I didn't know about the push to front tool. Thanks for the tutorial it's very much appreciated.
I just replied to you and it glitched out 😩 and I lost it all. Anyway, here we go again. I was saying that I didn’t know about the ‘push to front’ option either until I started working on this video. But I knew it had to do with a layering issue as I have worked with this sort of thing in the past when using another software (Canvas Workspace for the ScanNCut) and they have an option to move objects forward or backward. I knew Lightburn would have a similar option and yep, of course they did. It’s such a great software,
@golasergo don't you just hate it when that happens. I've heard of Canvas Workspace. It's good you have had some experience with other software before moving to Lightburn. I have only been using Lightburn for 5 months it's certainly a great program even though my progress is slow. Keep learning & have fun. Thanks for the reply.
I’m trying to engrave some text, but the simulation shows the laser filling in the letter if I have a letter like an “A”, or “R” Do you know how to stop this? If so , please let me know, it is driving me nuts. 😢
Can you not just upload a stencil font?? Idk I'm new to my cutter but on cricut you can just upload a stencil or any font to save having to do this right? Or no?
I just did a quick test to see if it would work and yes it did. I brought in a PNG image of some text, did a trace and then applied the method in the video and it worked.
It's a bit difficult to know what you are asking without seeing the PDF but have you tried ungrouping first? This will allow the pieces to come apart and you should be able to delete the line. If that doesn't work you could choose ARRANGE from the top menu and then select BREAK APART which will separate objects into pieces.
This certainly fixes it otherwise the letters have parts missing. The joy of this method is you can make the support bars as thin as you can. For instance I am making see through cards with a light behind and the letters have coloured tissue on the back which hold the cut material together and I can get away with support bars way less than 1mm. This way you can hardly see the letters are not complete.
Clear, concise, and brief. Thank you.
Thank you 😊

Of course, you can definitely do that but sometimes you might want a specific looking font and it’s not available as a stencil font.
can you do this over a traced image?

I havent had this problem but I also dont see how this fixes it, the lines ruines the look of the whole word.
Thats about as good as we can get with it unfortunately. That’s why word stencils are made that way.
