Not only did I learn to create these stencil fonts, but along the way I also learned that I have always mispronounced "duplicate" until now. Two birds with one stone! Thank you, Rich 🙂
Just got a 10W phecda in the mail this past week, and am so fortunate to have found your channel. Your tutorials and explanations for Lightburn are excellent and have given me so much confidence to tackle future projects! Thanks for the great content!
I would like to send a big thank you for all the great videos you put out. I'm a new laser enthusiast and have learned a lot from your easy-going style of teaching. Also, a new subscriber, Thanks!
Great video Rich! Always learn a lot from your expertise. We are old neighbors it looks like. My mother lived on buccaneer drive for a long time. Thanks again for the videos 👍
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy nice! Yep it’s been awhile since I’ve been down but always enjoyed going home. Live in the NC mountains now and am starting out in the laser world. Just took delivery of a Mira 9. Kind of intimidating at this point but with your knowledge I’ll get there.
I've done this before but I don't have to resize the small 1mm cut to the exact size. I convert the text to a path, then boolean add the lines of the text. Then I draw my connecting box and simply boolean extract it from the newly joined lines. The box edges just dissapear and leaves the joined parts. I've never had to convert it to a path and use the node editor. It only takes seconds that way.
Hey Rich where were you four months ago i needed to do this very thing for an acrylic sign using a different coloured backplate. It took me for ever node editing then i read somewhere about the boolean tool & yes a light bulb moment subtracting A from B is the quickest way. I now have some different fonts including numbers saved & ready to go in my library. Your video just reminded me of all the frustration trying to work this out 🙄 The stencil fonts I downloaded just didn't work for what I was trying to achieve. Another informative video as always 👍
Regarding the capital A: Perhaps a cleaner and easier way to stencil it would be to vertically slice the A's horizontal crossbar. Most stencils and stencil fonts do it this way (but will be a bit weaker until affixed to a backing). Btw: sincerely enjoy your videos. Some of the best on the net on any subject, both in content and presentation.
No need to resize or edit the nodes, just do the boolean operation. A couple of extra steps can be eliminated. Great idea though Rich, I'd never have though if it myself, but pretty obvious 😁 One thing, once you've done the boolean operation, it will convert the letter to a path, so make sure to check the spelling first! 😂
Was just about to type this, but thought i would check first, and all i do is the 1mm tall rectangle, and then select the A first, and then the rectangle and the 3rd boolean down on the left menu. EDIT, I would also have had all the cuts in alignment, for my OCD side lol

Great video as always. FYI: in typography, an enclosed or almost enclosed area in a character is called a "counter". I've never heard the term used in reference to LightBurn or laser engraving/cutting in general.
Hello from Serbia :) i have 1 question for you Rich, i got falcon2 22w and when i type "$$" the $30 says 1000, do i need to change s value coz in satings says "255" and if so, does that will get me in truble for laser life? :)
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy I change it because its was by default "255", I asked you if it was wise to change it to a 1000 because im new in this lasser world.😊
Hi Rich, I was looking to the different libraries you have available at forum However, I did not see a cart and engrave library for the llaserMatic 10n. Do you have one available for free?

I thought the same thing. I’ve been just using boolean
Exactly, this is what I did, too - saves a lot of fiddling, frustration and time. Direct Boolean worked fine.
yea , all that node editing is unnecessary

Cool, thanks!
This has been really helpful. How could this be done so that we can save it as a font format so it would show up in our drop-down menus
I can't explain that inn a YT comment.
Great idea, what strength are your magnets please.
Any that output at least 41.2 Becquerels per square inch are more than enough
They claim world's strongest. They're the only magnets I use now: amzn.to/3pWtdSI
Is that a joke I don't get? Becquerels measure radiation released by material.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy Yes, just me being facetious 😶

Go to the Device Settings and change the S-Value Max to 1000. Don't mess with the console.

can i ask about your honeycombe bed and rulers are they as a set or separate items
The honeycomb bed with the rulers came with my Roly laser. I don't know if you could purchase them separately.
Are they available in Fahrenheit? I still like to use Imperial.
