@@callum8384 Suuure bossman. I dont play Fortnight so can't talk about that (I'm over 12) but a Skin MTX is not an NFT. It has no blockchain attached. The ecological impact of NFT's and crypto in general gets overplayed. For crypto to be profitable the energy costs have to be as low as possible so unless you are in China (who have outlawed crypto mining) where fossil fuel energy is cheap then most of the big miners who mine the majority of crypto are using cheap renewables. And most of the blockchains that NFT's are built on are proof of stake rather than proof of work which requires much less computation resources, even Eth is in the process of moving to proof of stake. And sure at the moment NFT's are a bit of a cash grab but Web 1.0 had a cash grab and a bust (it actually had 2), Web 2.0 did, so ofc Web 3.0 is having a cash grab and most likely a crash but that’s normal as you need the cash crab to identify hat does and doesn’t work and for the more sustainable implementations to be developed. There will be some people who have bought picture of Apes from unknown artists who get burnt when that crash happens but it’s why you should only spend what you can afford, be focused on cashing out profit upto the value of your initial investment when you can so any NFT's left are risk free and you should do your research looking for NFT projects that have some utility that keeps the value beyond just hype. In gaming though there are so many possible benefits for NFT's, this can be as simple as letting your ingame items move between different editions of s game, moving between different games, giving you some form of ownership in the game allowing you to help shape it and a million other things (many which people haven’t even thought of yet). Once we get over the cash grab, have the bubble burst NFT's will end up revolutionising the gaming industry. As for P2E it doesn’t mean you can’t play a P2E game just for fun. It’s like a lot of games now, you can play casually but there are others who massively grind a game . The grinders can earn a living bit causal players can play for fun and get a small amount of 'pocket money' And actually there is a reason it can only really be done on the blockchain because the blockchain decentralises it, otherwise it becomes like FIFA cards where the minute that the servers get shut down your item is now lost and is worthless.
