These are some cool fighting moves I preformed during LARP events - Enjoy!! Thx a lot to TheIrishWill for the the footage here CheckOut his Channel here: / theirishwill
By nature, LARP is immune to ridicule. It's not a competition, or a pageant. We're not supposed to be excellent at what we do, or perfect in the way we look. It's a game. If we have fun, we win.
Include it in your weightloss journey. First, because it's a game, not a combat sport, not a martial art. You won't be striving for excellence, but just for having fun. You'll roleplay, and/or run your mouth, and/or investigate whichever plot you get into, or just share stories with stranger. fighting is secondary. It's not even the main physical activity because... ...because even though all those videos show you those cool combat... LARPing combat is first and foremost WALKING: walk around the plain, get into a fight, walk back to camp, rest, hear about an upcoming battle, walk there, rinse, repeat. Plenty of calories burned along the way. When new players ask what martial is best suited to LARPing, i answer jogging. You're gonna be fighting with your legs and heart more than with your arms and weapons.
You don't have to be in perfect shape people of all shapes and sizes larp and have fun some just do the fighting in "town" or at the "tavern" there are larpers that are wheelchair bound but they still go and have fun and through role playing get to experience and be apart of the story and world. Don't hold back look up a chapter and go for it!
This is very inaccurate as every single move here would be illegal in empire larp in the UK which os one of the biggest larp events in the world, so it really depends site to site
This is called theatrical fighting in LARP and there are some little bit different rules to it. By saying EVERY LARP RULE EVER you are wrong, there are many larps with many kinds of rules. See you around ❤
As an Olympic style fencer I feel like you can just poke them and the Mach would be over. The swings are too wide that I thought most of them are trained by Rey Skywalker.
Omg, what a comment! Covid had got us all these last two years, but I'll surely come back big time with more new materials from this summer in which I larp a lot. I'll play on Drachenfest US AND DF Germany, also Conquest of Mythodea and some more in Israel. Stay tuned
@@yoavbuddy Yeah been feeling it just the same - larp is alive again in denmark, but I also look forward to a big epic scaled adventure at Mythodea. We have some mutual relations, and who knows, maybe we will run into each other on the field or in the shadows - taking it you'll be a player at both Drachenfest and Conquest?
Definitely cool, but personally I’d prefer it to be less spins and rolls and instead more realistic yet somewhat flashy moves. Edit: 2 years later and im all for this combat style now lmao
I admire that part of it - realistic would make for quicker and less entertaining exchanges, I think that making it cinematic is part of what it’s for.
If you thust that close to someones face, you shouldn't bei surprised top geht a real Punch in the face as a response. This isbrealy dangerous for your opponent.
I wish ther would be a disclaimer, that these are duels where the participants agreed to suspend safety rules, fairplay etc. There may be peoole who get the impression it's OK to play like this, when in 99% of cases it's not only really dangerous but also really unfair to people who play carefully.
@@tiranu I lived in Kaiserslautern for about 8 years never once met someone that larped if they did they never said anything. I met D&D players but larp never came up. Kind of bummed now 😞
@@alvarieroberts720 i mean most people dont tell you about their Hobby because many people would say „oh how childish“ or „what a geek“ yk? And they mostly want to avoid those situations. But the D&D players maybe had know some people who are involved with larping its kinda the same
I'll be so happy to! You can watch my "highlight" story on Instagram and see what I did in Norway on last January. A two-days LARP-Fighting Seminar. Very cool, and can also happen in Italy
Jumping violently and throwing your weapon, kicking.... ...looks pretty unsafe. You could at least add some body-control so that you don't look like you're having a seizure. It really hurts to see him ignoring hits. (I did like the moves of the other guy in the last fight tho)
Kicking at least has validity like kicking the opponents shield just gotta maintain your balance and make sure your leg goes to a blind spot (like the shield)
The BDSM-people got these things right. What two consenting adults agree upon is fine AT HOME. When you are not alone, you need to adapt. Organisers do not (necessarily) know what you have agreed upon, sepecially at a large con like DF If one of you get hurt you will occupy organisers, healthcare-personnel etc that others might need There are also new larpers to consider. Larp is hard to explain, so new larpers might get the impression that this is normal. I have done a few of these outside-the-rules things. You need to 1 make sure that it is distinct from the usual fighting 2 You need to be more careful, not less 3 You need to be predictable, so that others involved in the situation can react accordingly 4 Be prepared to drop everything if something happens EG At an event we used wooden sticks for "weapons practice" 1 The sticks made it clear that we did not play the usual game. We did a little show of pushups etc. 2 & 3 All fighters used full armour, including helmets and we made sure to use clear slow attacks 4 When some kids wanted to join us, we changed the game and let them ride on our backs instead, stopped fighting and changed it to "horse-training"
May I just say this is either Drachenfest or Conquest mythodea. These are exhibitions not real fight on the battlefield. You are not allowed to throw two handed cored hammers I would hope...or stab with non stab safe weapons. Im no stranger to rough battles as our games are less rules heavy than most larp. But some of this was dangerous. And would see you banned in many larps if you did it!
people might make fun of larping but its honestly pretty cool lol
Those who make fun of us don't know what are they missing 🤘

Every9ne that actually tries it really ends up liking it.
Some of the appeal of larp is how dumb it can be for me.
Watching him gives me the last kingdom vibes, I do want to start going to events
Yeah! Join us!
@@yoavbuddy I'm planning on it!
Definitely thinking about getting into larping once i complete my weightloss journey...

Definitely not in superb shape but I larp nearly every month. We take the whole family and just roll with it! It's fun.

Hey, consider larp as a weight loss program. You'll build muscle and drop weight, guaranteed, even without being the "hero of the field".
A game where you can legally hit people with foam swords... and NOT get in trouble?

Haha, you are welcome to join!

Damn boy! Some of those are RLY awesome :O
Thx!!
It's all improvised BTW
That looked like alot of fun. great video. Sorry it took so long before I got to see this for the first time.
Thank you!!❤️
It my pleasure see you this time ~~
bro just broke every LARP rule ever: groin shot , head shot , kick
This is called theatrical fighting in LARP and there are some little bit different rules to it. By saying EVERY LARP RULE EVER you are wrong, there are many larps with many kinds of rules. See you around ❤
Don't play Bell/Hearthlight/Darkon/Dagorhir as groins are legal lol. Cups op though. SCA also as the head is the primary target lol.
As an Olympic style fencer I feel like you can just poke them and the Mach would be over. The swings are too wide that I thought most of them are trained by Rey Skywalker.
Ya well that's... Not a efficient style of fight, it is a Theatrical style, a show case.
Pretty good, but I'm seeing a lot of unnecessary spinning as well as many large, exaggerated movements that leave one open to attack.
We need another video like this from you :D

Yep, both.. In COM at the BloodPact

This looks extremly unsafe, especially the stabbing, which is absolutely not allowed.
What kind of LARP is this? We have to use boffers made of foam and PVC pinping. No one fights like this in our LARP this is epic
German quality larp ;)

well theres something off but almost every move is cool
This is so much better than most of the groups I've seen where some on slips and they panic
It's almost as if they wanna make sure folks don't get hurt lol
What is this event called?
I think it’s called drachenfest. A fella makes videos about this event, you can find his channel in the description of this video
Bezerker...full...on.....all...else.......tinkerbells😊
It should be renamed to larp cool fighting moves on how to get killed

What type of larp swords are these?
These are Foam weps with Fiberglass core
What brand do you find to be the best? Durable and good weight is what I go for.
But are these fights real?

You are absolutely right. It is dangerous and looks silly. If someone did this on one of my Cons, I would sende him home.
People like you is why people think larp is lame.
This was fully agreed on between two participants. If the rules of the game allow it after both parties consensus, it’s perfectly fine

Hey.. you are right, but this was on the arena tournament or in our own group's tournament so the rules were different and agreed
I don’t think this is conquest or DF because there they would have been expelled just for stabbing so much.
Cool looking, but super impractical.
But who tf cares, we're all nerds playing nerd sword games.
"Impractical" huh?
Are you a HEMA expert, or some sort of fencer - or just talking out your ass?
No control, thrusts, throwing a hard weapon. He ist endangering his opponent. Very bad form.
OK larp is not bad but what is, is those people fighting if that were a real fight with real medieval weapons you would get yourself killed
God, these losers would get absolutely crushing in real combat
Yeah but probably not by you lmao
