    The car looks mint. It's very satisfying to see that you decided to upgrade the original engine, instead of swapping in a 6 cylinder. Great work!

      Thanks, its an experimet to see what M43 could hold, and its working great, but int the end we think when we find the limit on this engine, it will be a M50, or forged M43

    With vag intake manifold you gained power after 6000 and without camshaft,amazing!!!Very good work !compression ratio around 10:1 and good tune ,that the spirit!!!!

      Yes, and much more to improve on the intake side, and cam is retarded to max compression is 10.3:1
      Works pretty good

    Hello, Great build! How much do you improve the compression ratio with b16 pistons?
    I have a m43b18 ad i want to keep it N/A, would it be a good mod to put in those pistons?

    Can you make a list with all things you needed for this tune? Do you think the Engine survives same tuning but with Dbilas single throttle injection system and sharp camshaft? I think it could get very diffucult to get this turbo build legal in germany but i need to try it if it works for less than 5000€ ? Plus new brakes and suspension

      its just a stock engine with cometic head gasket and steel head bolts, the best option is a good ECU (is what we do not have yet) and a good tune, of course bigger injectors good fuel pump and supply.
      with a better camshaft it would make even more power with less boost, and a good porting and valve job.
      BMW engines survive a lot.............
      In Finland all this cost around 3000e with brakes papers an everything street leagle

      Its from a vag 1.8t engine, do not remember from audi or vw, cut of flanges from vag and stock manifold and connected with hoses.
      Not the best flowing solution but it works, and easy to take off

      It is a IHI VF23 ballbearing turbo from 1 gen subaru sti, ecu is aftermarket megasquirt 1

      What details do you need?
      Stock everything exept head gasket and bolts, chinees injectors megasquirt ecu, audi/vw intake manifold, almost rest is custom built

      @@joaofranca9334 i do not remember anymore, long time ago. But i think it was 1.8t horizontal engine. I had one from longitudal audi in my E30 M43, it was welded flange for the throttlebody, but it did not fit in this E36

    Great work enjekter size ? Fuel pump bar ? Stock ecu or standole wich turbo ? Oil cooler has it ? Head stud is stock?

      760cc injectors, stock 3 bar fuel, chineese 044 pump, standalone megasquirt, vf23 subaru sti turbo, no oil cooler, 12.9 steel head bolts.

    the power curve makes me think this would make crazy power with a different cam since it starts dropping off at around 4300 rpm. What do you think, or is something else doing that?

      Could be, or just too little turbo. Would be nice to test a good cam, but it is too expensive, need to find a cheap used one or find somone who grindes cams

      It is a vag intake manifold yes, but mated with stock m43 intake and throttlebody

      On muutoskatsastettu tällä hetkellä, vaatii 325 jarrut ja teholapun, m43b16 kiertikangeet on melko paperia, kannattaa hankia b18 jossa järeämmät kanget. Budjetilla pääsee pienellä ahtimella parinkymmenen hevosvoiman lisäyksellä, mutta nälkä kasvaa syödessä, vakio boxin säätämisestä ei ole kokemusta, suosiolla laittaisin säädettävän moottori ohjaimen sillä pääsee helpoimalla.
      Kyllä siihen väkisin 2000e uppoaa jos toimivan haluaa, mutta sen on halpaa jos ajattelee melkeen triplateho vakioon

    Very cool! 4cyl boosted bmw is something not so popular! I have a 1.9 M43TU in a E46. I was wondering if boosting it at 160/170 hp could be the right way instead of classic swap. Do you think is achievable with relative low cost? Or a M52B25 would be a cheaper swap for the same power? Mind that in my place a 6cyl enigne would cost at least 700/800 € it self!!

      Yes, just put a turbo on it and see what happends, i think you can get it to hold same power like M52 cheaper

    I have a M44, I’ve been conte playing a turbo or swapping but this is unique and impressive. Anybody know the cost for turboing the m44. Also if you can list all the parts I need I would appreciate it !

      with this setup maybe 1500e is enough, except turbo this was cheap 100e. much custom parts needed like exhaust manifold, wiring, fuel lines,fuel pump of course and i think M44 has the weak connecting rods we broke last year, limited to maybe 250hp but bigger injectors and a good aftermarket ecu you should be good to go

    Heps! Itsellä työn alla m43b19 mimmoset suuttimet sulla tässä oli? Ostin dekan 870 mutta nuohan tippuu imusarjan sisälle kun on halkaisijaltaan pienemmät kuin vakiot😅

      Olikohan jostain vw vr6 moottorista suuttimien holkit normikokoon. Jotkuu perus ev14 790cc tässä on.
      Vaatii tosiaan juu soviteholkit, muuten karkaa kyllä ahtopaine🤣

    Is just buying a 1.8L m43 engine the same as the one you built or is there some reason that you used the 1.6L block to build on?
    Also no blowoff right?

      no other reason to use 1.6 block then the 1.8 we bought was broken, so we just threw in the crank and rods on a 1.6 block that we had. and no blow off

      @@mesniburek1652 it is custom exhaust manifold and intake and all boost pipes and exhaust made by us, no kit. Is there a turbokit for M43

      @@Packis that's some nice fabrication work i have to admit. I found a turbo kit that you can buy at laurent motors and it starts at around €1200 for the stage 1 with a chinese turbo, but you also have stage 2 and stage 3 and you can pick between a chinese turbo and a garett.......they look like solid entry turbo kits to me, but i don't have a lot of experience

      @@mesniburek1652 thats intresting kit, with the garret turbo 2790e and you need to build boost pipes anyway, and exhaust system, and engine managment is missing, whit that kit without a tune you gona blow the engine in no time

    awesome !! I have same project but on M43B18 , i have a lot of questions , how could you mount this in turbo ? , where it take the arrival of oil and where is the return ? , do you think that with a KDFI it will work ? and can u show us your air intake in detail ?

      Custom exaust manifold, oil pressure from orginal pressure switch and return to oil pan, KDFI will work fine

      I do not know, maybe.
      We just made it bacause it is a pain in the ass to remowe the stock one.
      This one is few minutes and it is off.

      Just a m42 cometic steel head gasket and regular 12.9 steel bolts, nothing special

      @@matmar1101 on this one is everything working great, i had the older board v2.2 on my E30, it was a pain in the ass, but it workt in the end.
      Have ms2v3 and a few speeduinos and ecumasters to play around with too

      There are over 2000 hp engines, so… But for this car 280 hp is very nice.

      @@maikelnait4495 yes, the budget is not the same then almoust stock BMW engine.
      Over 2500hp on a 2l engine is a lot, like drag racing car with 11000hp from 8l engine, not good for a street car🤣🤣

      @@FlightSimXtreem Not many manifold made for this engine. Has been changed to a bigger turbo, TD05 20G tested with 1,2bars.
      Still in one piece and daily driven
