Hello, Great build! How much do you improve the compression ratio with b16 pistons? I have a m43b18 ad i want to keep it N/A, would it be a good mod to put in those pistons?
How long can it last with turbo ? Are these engines good ?
This one still going, good tune under 300hp then it holds long. Of corse how you use it....

Olikohan jostain vw vr6 moottorista suuttimien holkit normikokoon. Jotkuu perus ev14 790cc tässä on. Vaatii tosiaan juu soviteholkit, muuten karkaa kyllä ahtopaine🤣
what clutch u using? seems like it slipping in some clips is it stock?
It was stock in some videos. Now it is 5 puck sinter clutch with a stronger pressure plate

Great work enjekter size ? Fuel pump bar ? Stock ecu or standole wich turbo ? Oil cooler has it ? Head stud is stock?
760cc injectors, stock 3 bar fuel, chineese 044 pump, standalone megasquirt, vf23 subaru sti turbo, no oil cooler, 12.9 steel head bolts.
Where was the Comedic MLS head gasket sourced from? Also did u used stock head bolts or upgrade to studs?
From a random motorsport webshop, it is a M42 gasket. 12.9 steel head bolts, much cheaper then ARP, but does the same thing
@@Packis The head gasket stock thickness or you went thicker? No mods needed to fit the M42 gasket to M43 block? Your M43 rebuilt now , hitting the 300hp?
@@jstardrift First we had thicker then stock, but went to E85 fuel and for more compression we removed a few metal plates from the gasket. No mods neede for M43 block. Not measured yet, but running bigger turbo TD05 20G with 0.8bar boost.
I have a question for people who build stuff like this,how long do engines with up to 2000cc last with this much horsepower?
Well built engine, good tune. This kind of small power will last forever.....

There are over 2000 hp engines, so… But for this car 280 hp is very nice.
@@maikelnait4495 yes, the budget is not the same then almoust stock BMW engine. Over 2500hp on a 2l engine is a lot, like drag racing car with 11000hp from 8l engine, not good for a street car🤣🤣

With vag manifold you see any difference on higher rpm?
I do not know, maybe. We just made it bacause it is a pain in the ass to remowe the stock one. This one is few minutes and it is off.

Maxspeedingrods coilovers in front, rears went bad in a month, so some mercedes bilstain shocks rear and lowering springs

@@FlightSimXtreem Not many manifold made for this engine. Has been changed to a bigger turbo, TD05 20G tested with 1,2bars. Still in one piece and daily driven

hello where did u buy the head gasket for the m43?
Some tuning store, its a M42B18. They dont make a gasket for M43
@@Packis ok thanks did u lower the compression just with a thicker head gasket? and did the m42 gasket fit without any complications?
@@tengan4659 its ok how it is, but we took off some plates from the gasket to get more copmpression for E85

It is a vag intake manifold yes, but mated with stock m43 intake and throttlebody

Orginal parts, b16 block b16 pistons and head, b18 crank and connecting rods
is the m43b18 crank and rods the same as m42b18?
Not at all m42 crank and rods are much stronger

With a TD05-20G only 0.5bar Just small things and tuning

1.1bar I think 1.9M43 has weaker connecting rods, but you can try...

@@Packis sounds like a plan. Any plan on doing strong internals? I think if you had an equal length exhaust manifold, the sound would be way better. Most people goes with the sound of the engine. I like the idea of boosting e36 4 cylinder engines but the sound is not cutting it.

Can you make a list with all things you needed for this tune? Do you think the Engine survives same tuning but with Dbilas single throttle injection system and sharp camshaft? I think it could get very diffucult to get this turbo build legal in germany but i need to try it if it works for less than 5000€ ? Plus new brakes and suspension
its just a stock engine with cometic head gasket and steel head bolts, the best option is a good ECU (is what we do not have yet) and a good tune, of course bigger injectors good fuel pump and supply. with a better camshaft it would make even more power with less boost, and a good porting and valve job. BMW engines survive a lot............. In Finland all this cost around 3000e with brakes papers an everything street leagle
I have the M43TUB19, I wish turbo modding would be legal in Germany.

How much engine compression did you get with this setup ?
If i remeber correctly it is 10.6:1

@@helorycarpentier7801 yes and longer stroke, an took a few gaskets of the mls gasket so it is very thin now
the power curve makes me think this would make crazy power with a different cam since it starts dropping off at around 4300 rpm. What do you think, or is something else doing that?
Could be, or just too little turbo. Would be nice to test a good cam, but it is too expensive, need to find a cheap used one or find somone who grindes cams

Very cool! 4cyl boosted bmw is something not so popular! I have a 1.9 M43TU in a E46. I was wondering if boosting it at 160/170 hp could be the right way instead of classic swap. Do you think is achievable with relative low cost? Or a M52B25 would be a cheaper swap for the same power? Mind that in my place a 6cyl enigne would cost at least 700/800 € it self!!
Yes, just put a turbo on it and see what happends, i think you can get it to hold same power like M52 cheaper

Hi Bros, do you have a lsd or just welded it? Full stock engine with this amount of ponys, very nice. Nice build its very common this time with boosting the smaller bmw engines. Their take a lot of abuse. Had one compact boostet but lot of heat problems, just throw the thermostat away and it solves it. 2 years and only one blown headgasket. Now i have sitten an 320i in garage but its fucking cold and the heater doesn't work. Evry thing new but no heat in the car. Greatings and Marry XMas!
Welded diff, everything holds pretty good, but i think there is moore to get, we will se. Soon we need the bigger diff and driveshafts.....

It's huge 285 horsepower with everything original! Cheer ! I hesitate to make an assembly in this style with the m43 block but with the forged crankshaft of the m42, forged connecting rods, special aac forged pistons for turbo and the cylinder head of the original m43. But I don't know if it will achieve the goal of 400-450 reliable horsepower for the track.
Yeah, but i think ther is little more to get, but now the turbo was maxed out and boken so we will see what happends next With a forged engine only restriction will be the headwork and camshaft, and hell of a good tune, but i have seen 1.6l with over 800hp 16valve of course but anyway
