- Let's go home decor thrift and consignment shopping
I had to get out of the house and I decided go thrift store shopping and consignment shopping in New England. As a New England home and lifestyle blogger and DIY home remodeler, I was burning out from the non-stop home decorating and DIY projects I've been working on, in our antique home, but I'm excited to see so much I did get done around the house now! I see the light at the end of the tunnel.
During my travels we will go to about 5 home decor shops and one craft shop. I visited a few other places, but I either forgot to film while I was looking for home decor or the owner was not available to ask.
I forgot to share it, but I also picked up a cut large painting of a lamb for my step-daughter's bedroom. I hope to start painting that room soon.

I have to say , living down at the bottom of the World in New Zealand , the one huge thing I am grateful for , in the last year , is that I have "traveled" more than ever , by watching lovely videos like Yours . I had heard of New England but never seen it and I must say what a beautiful place and feel it is, and love that it is so quiet the roads don't have lines down the middle of them , thanks so much for taking me around xx
I am so glad you are enjoying the videos! I don't want to burst your bubble, but we too have busy roads with lines and very busy places. BUT there are parts of New England that seem to be stuck in time (sort of) and it is wonderful.

Last week I went to New Hampshire I was so amazed with all the houses and the land and the stores I didn’t have time to go to thrift stores or antique stores Planning to take a trip to New Hampshire this summer

Oh. I absolutely love and need the sun. I feel like I am a solar panel and need it to charge my batteries. Lol you live in such a beautiful place. Those old homes just reach to my heart. I keep telling my husband I would love to travel to the New England states to experiance their history. And I want to do it in summer, to escape our hot and muggy TN summer. Lol I don’t think I could take the extreme winter weather in the Mew England states. I barely tolerate our winters. Lol

Hi Linda, we met briefly at the round robin. I was working at the table, stamping, on Sunday afternoon. I'm in the far left back corner space in the barn. At the time of the video, I had the whole room. Now I have just 1/2, but in the same location. Lots of pretty properties in Wilton Center!

I currently live in CO but for many years I lived in Henniker, NH. I have 2 dear friends that live in Henniker and we often took “road trips” to Peterborough and to shop. It is a wonderful town filled with so many delightful shops; I’m sorry so many were closed when you were there. Thank you for the tour and bringing back so many wonderful memories for me😀. I will be back there this summer for a visit, and you can bet we will be in Peterborough for some dining and shopping.
We were just in Henniker this past weekend while going to go look at a house in Hopkinton, NH. Such a pretty area!

Hi Mary! Which space is yours? I'm guessing we have met at the shop??? We love Wilton Center. We are actually going to peek at an open house today. Not that we are moving again, but we admired it while considering the John Fiske house as our purchase. We were also bummed out the white one on the hill, went on the market this year. That was another we admired from afar. We also considered the gray one..... ;-)

The green/whites plates look to be J&G Meakin Renaissance. I have a 12-place set that I scored at a Goodwill in Colorado for $40 about 35 years ago! I still have the set. Dinner plates, salad plates, bowls, cups and saucers.
Hello Linda, What an uplifting video! I loved the commentary as you drove along. I felt as if I was browsing in the shops with you. We have been in lockdown in Ireland since early January. Only essential shops are open, and we have to stay within five km of home. It is beyond frustrating at this point. Unfortunately, there is little sign of restrictions being relaxed any time soon. Hi Linda I've been subscribed ever since our first lockdown Mar.2020 just finished our second one .I have to be very careful I'm a retired RN ,75 and lost a third of my lung function due to COPD l know if I got çovid it would be my end but I have my dear husband and surprise being able to see your lovely home go on rides shop vicariously with you New England reminds so much of my part of Canada.you maybe don't realize you are some what of a therapist along with all you do eh? Great trip, such beautiful country side.
I grew up in Florida but my sister went off to Boston for school at 16 and lived there 30 years. Ultimately they bought a house in New Hampshire. I loved getting in the car and driving those same country roads and villages. They moved down here to Georgia 7 years ago. I miss my long visits to New Hampshire!!!

We are definitely kindred spirits! This was my favorite kind of vlog....I could spend everyday in shops like these! I love your style...that chaise was such a steal! I live in an isolated area of Michigan so there aren’t many shops like this close by. I love to ride along with you and drool over it all. Thank you for taking us along on the drive too!
I'm from Michigan too - you should just start a couple of consignment shops. A mix of consignment and garden shops. All the small towns that have seen business declines would be a great place to start them. You could even network with the shops in Detroit and the suburbs. Driving around the Michigan countryside is something we used to do every weekend - visiting farms, looking for second hand art and furniture, visiting small family restaurants, meeting local crafts people. You could start a whole new movement! Go for it!
I love your program and enjoy watching it very much. I live in a very old house in Sterling, Massachusetts and really enjoy your aesthetic. Do you do interior design consults? I love old things but I tend to put too much in the space, and need help getting to a little more spare look. Our house is interesting in that it was where sewing patterns were invented. It was built in the 1700’s but has been changed many times through the years. I noticed in this video you mentioned that you are trying to keep your metabolism up by eating every two hours. I used to do that but was never successful until I tried intermittent fasting. In the past three years I have been able to lose over 100 lbs and I am so grateful that I found this way of living. The best book on the subject is called “Delay, Don’t Deny” by Gin Stephens. It is available on Audible and you might enjoy listening to it while working on your home projects. She also has wonderful podcasts called Intermittent Fasting Stories that are on Apple podcasts. This has been a real game-changer for me!! I think you look beautiful but I know you said you wanted to lose some weight. You might find this helpful - I certainly did. Thank you again for your fine RUclips videos. They are very inspiring and motivating.
