Reparations without a check for every black person would be incomplete and unacceptable.
Giving money only to organizations and agencies whom supposedly will help improve education and such isn't suitable and really only funds the top.
Individual payments should be included.
CAVIAR 2020 we passing out white privilege checks too?
Honor the treaties too.
As a black man you must know your hertiage. Research it and get to know your families roots. Remember slavery has been around along time ever since African chiefs sold their people to the salvery market. You must get educated and stop depending on other people to give you. Take reparations and fix black communitys.
Trust me American chambers don't have enough money to pay for all wrongs they have done to us black people..
I would hate black folks if they get a hand out. I've been poor my whole life to. Every race struggles its not our generations problem to give people back pay for not being strong enough of a race to not get taken advantage of

How can you talk about children growing up in poverty with illnesses with black people not having proper medical treatment and the white people growing up not suffering and there's only one thing that separates that causes the difference and that is wealth America owes a debt that has not been paid

When talk turn to reparations, my question is: why aren't Native Americans at the front of that line? Seriously, by any measure (including current economic and social status) Native Americans were treat worse and lost Moore than any groups in North America, and were practically extinguished. Please someone explain too me why they are at the back of the lint not the front.

Doesn't look like they really benefit from it when the official poverty rate on reservations is 28.4 percent, compared with 12.7 nationally. About 36 percent of families with children are below the poverty line on reservations, compared with 9.2 percent of families nationally. Try Google sometime.

First of all their fore father's made treaty agreements and some have expired and waiting on other treaty agreements to expire. That's the real issue.

I’m happy for black people and I like the feeling of happy black people because even though we went through riots I feel a special calmness and it feels really great. But, I think this could have happened with simple communications and riots just create the gap right back.

Native American Indians have treaty agreements that have expired and some still have to expire before full assistance and help can be given to them. People have to remember those treaty agreements be for hundreds of years and some perpetual years which means those are the type that do not end. It really depends on the wording of those treaty agreements long ago and how they are interpreted now in the legal system. People forget it costs a lot of money and you need a lot of signatures to get those cases into courts of law for review and reintepretations. It is also a very lengthy process ...and they need a lot of money to scoot around the sometimes deliberate delays and also look how often Washington DC changes hands in Elections. In many cases they need Legislative and Congressional support which means for very lengthy cases they need ELECTED POLITICIANS on their side to stay in office.

As a matter of fact, blacks in many cases must be hired before they can hire a Hispanic person, or Asian, whites are at the bottom of the list. Remember affirmative action, not to mention all the "special" programs only for blacks. Even Trump made a program years back to help blacks into the corporate world. I am a boomer from Tulsa and I knew about Black Wall Street. I learned it in school, I think.
My greatgrand-parents told me about that paricular atrocity among others against thriving Black towns.

A family legacy might cover a majority of the world, slavery is as old as 9,000 years. In the Roman Empire 1 in 3 people was a slave.

I don't understand how descendants of slavery can celebrate Juneteenth that makes no sense celebrating the day that the slaves were told that they were free to years later why would anyone celebrate freedom when Freedom should be natural why would you celebrate being free from slavery that is nothing to celebrate we should only celebrate when we received the debt that is owed in the form of reparations that is financially and legal protections under the law that is something worth celebrating

Although I do agree with "Black lives matter" on the issue of systemic profiling of any group of people by the police, I do not agree with this commentary regarding poverty level comparisons based on race.
Are there certain inequalities? Yes however, what this panel obviously ignores are migrants who've immigrated from other parts of the world (some from very impoverished countries) achieving success and prosperity based on the merits of their hard work and efforts.
Why do you think migrants came here in the first place? Because of what Black people built for free against their will.
