Really and truly. Thank YOU so much for all your amazing comments on that last video. I woke up this morning and couldn’t believe the amount of you that took time to show your support. I will keep walking and making videos ...THANK YOU 🍀
The 'little birdie' - so sweet..... an oystercatcher with the distinctive orange beak and such a beautiful call. One of the coastal highlights for me - always. Great video. Love your thinking and you sharing it with us :-)
I've watched so many of your previous videos of your Ireland adventures & I'm so happy to see you are making more! My husband & I took a road trip around the southern half of Ireland in April 2019 & it changed our lives! Our daughters were supposed to travel the northern half of the island in 2020 but obviously that couldn't happen. We hope to be able to finally visit again next spring. Maybe you'd let us hire you to show us around some of the local gems, or at least buy ya a coffee hehe
Thank you for showing how beautiful the Atrim coast line is. Maybe I travel from Sweden one day to Northern Irland to experience the fantastic nature which you have there. In Sweden we do not have that kind of spectacular nature. Thank you again :)
Enjoying the Ireland videos. Cannot wait to watch day 3 later this evening. I retire in January and I am really thinking of doing something similar maybe not as long, but I will have the time, and I have always wanted to get back to nature it does my mind so good. X
Absolutely loving your videos, thank you so much for sharing your beautiful homeland, I can’t wait to come back one year, for now I’m with you in spirit willing you on, your wise words too are just spot on, keep going Derek and keep being YOU!
Yes I like this lad , he is so natural and unpretentious ! Makes a refreshing change from others who are sanctimonious and orchestrate everything. He is a good lad !
Bit by bit things are coming back to normal. Having your videos popping up in RUclips again is definitely a return to better times. Keep well Derek and look after the feet. The rest will follow.
Great to see your walk today. It looks amazing. Nice early start along the beach too, enjoy the rest. Your videos are fantastic but don't get burned out from them, your journey is your own. We are very grateful that you are sharing it with us but if you need to take a break from the edits and social media along the way then do so, we can catch up when your ready. Enjoy your day tomorrow, all the best 👍
Just finished the Blasket Island trip now on this one.I saw a band named the Tannahill Weavers from Scotland play that song you sing about the heather.I believe its called Go Lassie Go,pretty cool.
Lovely your videos Derek and the background music is so beautiful. I’m another person who loves coffee in the morning, you can’t beat that taste 🙂 keep it strong lad and thank you.
This is great, we are a very old country, latest research suggests at least 33,000 years of human presence here. Rich in history. Wishing you good health along the way and much success.
Wise words about releasing the tension. We're not meant to live in constant tension. Good luck on your trip buddy. Enjoy it! And if you don't put out a video one day (or a few), that's fine. Keep the tension low. Don't put yourself under pressure.
Such a relaxing place to fall deep asleep with the sound of the ocean. Love the idea of the seed bombs and its so fantastic to learn the history of your country
Hi Derek, just found your channel and really liking your videos and super impressed with your life affirming and nature connecting words and images. Keep it up!
Hi Derek, absolutely loving these videos of your journey on the Ireland way. Planning on doing it myself next year in the opposite direction. Love your honesty🙌 enjoy the journey👍
Derek, another glorious day on the North Antrim Coast after a great sounding sleep with those soothing waves. Loved the observations of the world around as you walked and the discoveries from the places in between. Love too how you know from experience to listen to your body and act accordingly with those sore shoulders and feet. Totally agree about time outside, away from distractions, and it can only be a good thing👍😊
I'm enjoying your videos Derek. As someone who has hiked, cycled and ran all my life (I'm an aul' fella now) I'm fascinated to see you wearing shorts and trainers most of the time, rather than full length hiking trousers and boots. On trails it's okay but In heavy growth you are leaving your legs exposed to nettle stings, briars and, more worryingly, ticks that may transmit disease which may not be detected for some time. Sometimes when I stub my toes accidentally against rocks it can be painful enough, it must be excruciating with lightweight shoes and they don't provide any support for your ankles either. Just an observation I wish you well on your adventures.
Hello Derek, I am so glad I stumbled upon your YT channel, I am absolutely loving your videos, looking forward to the rest of your Ireland Way ones, I'd love to undertake some epic walks myself but for now watching yours will do. The best of Irish luck to you.
Hiya Derek. It's great to see you off on your travels again. I really admire what you do, I would never have the guts. Really enjoying your videos so far. I am with you in spirit xx
Great video, hope you get an early morning coffee into ya,the only thing i have against walking the hills etc is,no water taps and toilets along the routes,i have been on to county councils all over about this but i never get any reply from them, anyway top of the morning me ould flower.
Hey Dude, just found ur channel. I'm gonna watch ur videos about the Ireland way hike. Hopefully it'll motivate me to get my ass on a plane and come try it.
Always enjoy watching your videos lad! Love the shots/editing and history as well. You should do a vid in the galtees on your travels sometime it's really nice up there 😁🇮🇪🙏
Derek, this is awesome. Will be with you every step of the way buddy- let’s do this! As a young kid one of my most memorable vacations was a trip of the Republic of Ireland , more specifically the west coast (Galway) really hope to take my wife there some day. Let’s do this!!!
I really like the seed bomb; leaving something beautiful behind as a marker of where you stayed on the hike that won't hurt the environment, and for you to revisit in future.
Inspirational, I've already been in touch with an old friend of mine and making plans to follow in your footsteps in stages over the next couple of years.
Hi Derek, I'm really enjoying the videos. I live in the US and hoping to move to Northern Ireland soon. I'd love to do the Ireland Way! Thanks for making these videos.

Well Derek your 1st video and day on your walk was brilliant. I think I felt every emotion, at the end I felt a wee bit sad and shed a tear. Very informative, fantastic in the way you tell us about the places, people and things, the music compliments it all..and the Irish country flower seed bombs is brilliant. ☘🌳
Wonderful videos! I'd love to walk the Ireland Way and would like to camp wild with a dog. Do you know if taking a dog on the Way is a possibility and have you found it easy to camp wild?
Only watching now. Looking for inspiration for a long distance hike and you are an inspiration. Thanks for sharing Derek. I would be hiking it alone as a female, did you feel safe walking and wild camping alone? Also is any off the route sign posted or ill need a map/app?
Hi Keith. I suppose it would be possible to stay at guesthouses but you might need to divert from the route every now and again. It's not an easy trail re logistics :)
@@DerekCullenOutdoors I'm coming to ireland in Sept for a family vacation but maybe next year will be the year of the Irish way. What's the best guide book for this huge hike derek?

"It's the places on the way to those places..." What a little gem and it is only day two!
This phrase was so true of my road trip around the southern half of Ireland! So many magical sights were stumbled upon on the way to other places.
These videos are now the highlight of my day!
Aw man! This gave me goosebumps. Thanks Aidan 🍀

If the feet are giving you gip, would you not stick them in the sea for 30mins and let salt water help them out 👍
