    I just finished making two of these and they turned out so cute and fit perfectly! The ruffled brim wasn't for me, so I made a more standard bucket hat shape.
    After the sc round I worked 6 dc, increase (so 2dc in the 7th stitch) into the front loops, then 7 dc increase, 8dc increase, 9dc increase, 10 dc increase. So 5 rows of dc total for the brim! It can fold up at the front and is also a good length folded down. Hope this helps any less ruffly gals and guys out there!

      Hey hun. Can I ask what size yarn you used. Or is it any yarn that says 5mm hook that's correct

    Okay so I thought this was too small at first but then I just extended the length of the brim by repeating the last row 3-4x and it's literally perfect!! I'm so excited to gift this to my friend ❤ (using my husband's no-ad RUclips account hehe)

    Hi!! Would I need to make any modifications if I were to use acrylic (worsted) instead of the cotton?

    • @strongearthcreations
      @strongearthcreations  11 месяцев назад +1

      hmm i’d so i don’t think you’d need to make any modifications for acrylic. possibly go up like half a hook size because acrylic might have tighter stitches making it a little smaller

  • @murielfields7445

    I'm using acrylic yarn. If I want to make the hat larger what should I do?

      do another round on the granny squares doing the 3dc in all the in between spaces & 3dc, ch, 3dc in each corner :)

    Maybe someone already asked this, but how does sizing work? I'd love to make a couple of these for my two neices. Do you think I could make a couple squares and just flop them on their head for general sizing?

    • @strongearthcreations
      @strongearthcreations  6 месяцев назад

      i adjust the number of petals! for the adult size i do 16 petals, for a toddler size i did 12 petals

    Hi! I was wondering how to make the body of the hat bigger? It’s a little snug on my head, and was wondering how to make it bigger for thicker hair + curls??? Thank you!:)

    • @strongearthcreations
      @strongearthcreations  3 месяца назад

      you can add another row on each granny square or use one size up with your hook!

  • @ebonytaylor75
    @ebonytaylor75 Год назад

    If I want to extend the brim after the last 2d, 1dc pattern… how would I do that? Do I add an additional 2dc, 1dc pattern?

    • @strongearthcreations
      @strongearthcreations  Год назад

      you would add one double crochet to continue the pattern so if the last row was 1dc, increase the next row would be 2dc, increase and then 3dc, increase and so on!

    • @shereika3102
      @shereika3102 11 месяцев назад

      @@strongearthcreationshi! I also want to extend my brim, so after I slip stitch into my last 2dc 1dc pattern, do I chain two then start again with 2dc then 3dc?? Do I have to chain 2 first before starting or can I just start? Thank you for this tutorial!!

    • @strongearthcreations
      @strongearthcreations  11 месяцев назад

      @@shereika3102 you’d still do the ch2! & the next row would be 3dc, increase all the way around!
