Huge fan of dynasty warriors series and love the epic soundtrack they use in the opening cutscenes and in the battles.
As a kid Zhap Yun was my favorite....now? Still is.

8:56 it's hilarious that Zhao Yun's musou on DW6 is identical to the spinning attack thing he's doing in that segment of DW5's opening.
also worth mentioning his switch attack in dw7 as well as every other spear character, then they changed it so he used a different spear so he was the only one not doing it xD

Dynasty Warriors 2 stil had one of the best, oddly enough. The flute bit makes me nostalgic.
Has anyone ever tried to make a Zhao Yun timeline with the openings in 5,6,7, and 8. Basically, 6 he's a new warrior trying to make a name for himself and fighting for just cause. 7 and 8 he's now experienced and trying to help out Liu Bei and his allies. Then you go back to 5 and he's a veteran warrior being the vanguard for Shu against Cao Pi and the Wei kingdom.
The amount of DW veterans in the comments... and here i am... found out about Musou games 2 years ago... then proceded to play every single available (at least for me)musou game since :D

I got nostalgia from DW2 intro, was the first I played. Then Xtreme Legends DW3. I then got DW7 for Xbox, loved it.

I'm sad now, I had all the dynasty warriors(except 7 & 8) and they all randomly disappeared, I still have 4 but the disc is old and scratched beyond repair.

If you have a good pc you could get a ps2 emulator and get all the dynasty warriors games
4 actually does have an old PC port with more enemies on screen and better AI.

2 Reason : the OST and Musou
The final moments of Dynasty Warriors history, there was ups and downs but overall, it had the best gameplay, art style, follow the events of China, and music, best childhood memories in my life. But now DW9, it was bad in my opinion.
whew... that's a lot of intros o: I first got on the bandwagon new years eve some years ago when someone brought the 3rd one to the church slumber party... I hogged the game the entire night lol. only got off when the guy kicked me off so he can pack it at the end of event. all these years later, I picked up 8 Xtreme Legends on Steam. no regrets. Zhou yu was my first love (and the one I played decent with way back), now he's being overshadowed by zhao yun and xu shu (can't chooose between the two)

***** soz for late reply, but DW: Online basically fukd up on the story line. And I didn't really like the concept of online for a history game. But well, I don't really hate DW:Online, what I hate is DW:Online Z, it uses a lot of strange weps like guns and stuffs, overall I didn't think that was nice, since modern looking gun like in the game was never invented until the 15th century. ( even tho the first gun to be invented was 1000 AD ). The ROTK take place in the 13-14th century if I remember correctly

After Da Qiao and Jiang Wei got removed from DW6, they were re added for the first time in Multi Raid 2, then they were given the same looks when DW7 got released later. Similar to how Zhou Chang was added in All Stars before coming for the first time in DW9
I like Taishi Ci, but it always seemed really weird that he was one of the first Wu characters in the franchise to be made unique.

i really like dw 6 bc that is the first dw game i played. but when i bought the 5 one... KOEI, why did u ruin the 6??!! so many characters deleted, the charge attacks has also been deleted!!!

It's not, since its for an online version of Dynasty Warriors I think it is supposed to represent your created character, as they're not using the same weapons and Online Z's trailer proves that it's not Zhao Yun.
After they add Zhao yun in opening, the game become too easy now...
rather get dynasty warriors 4 than the newer versions since lu bu is very difficult to beat and how they have very good gameplay/ music.
