I bought a 1989 Toyota dolphin RV with 93000, 6 cylinder with the correct dual axel. The engine was partially rebuilt 12_13 years ago and the inside was partially redone. I just got it three days ago. I’m cleaning it. It does need a good cleaning and trying to figure out how to get the refrigerator to work and the rest of the system. It hooks up to electricity and the air conditioner works. I must be out of my mind. I got it for 7K.
Of course a carbon monoxide detector is a must have and for the cost, I wouldn't skip on getting an explosive gas detector. I believe are even combo units. A bit more pricey, but still affordable for most, low oxygen sensors exist. I'd probably have all three if I were camping in an RV. But I wouldn't be very concerned about your buddy heater. I can't find any case of someone dying from using one where they didn't bypass safety features - not counting fires of course, but that's a risk with any source of heat.
Awesome van! I can't for the life of me understand why a city would make it illegal to park your own motorhome in your own driveway, which you paid for and for which you pay taxes. That's ridiculous, but we have a ridiculous government sometimes. Have you been able to figure out your fuel mileage on that van yet?
I have the same year van, but without speakers or a heater. My bed is a bench seat facing sideways that fold out across the whole walkway and no table. I need to get my windows resealed. What’s your gas mileage? I’m so afraid of how much I’d be spending in gas trying to drive the thing.
Yeah the kitchenette on this one is really rare. You don't often see it in Campervans, it's definitely more common with class C's. As for milage I'd guess that I'm getting somewhere around 11 or 12mpg. I wouldn't call it fuel efficient by any means but in comparison to a truck with a camper on it I'd say it is pretty similar. My truck camper setup had a fuel injected truck though, which makes a pretty big difference when compared to the toilet bowl carbs that ford used on the 351s.
After reading your comment and hearing it was only 5800CAD (I’m assuming based on his accent) that’s $4300 which isn’t unreasonable where I’m located for a fully functioning camper van regardless of age
Lose the carpet, the bathroom closet thing and one bench seat That “bed” looks horrific to sleep Put kids on floor to sleep Use folding table n 2 folding chairs - can take table outside to eat at or cook on We had a 5-er and used folding table n chairs. The couch got torn out too and had nice comfy couch in there. Put storage where closet was.
Yeah my life truly changed when I opened my eyes and realized that there was more than just a truck. It was wild. I couldn't believe it. Did you know that they actually make different types of vehicles? Like they make trucks, cars, vans. I've even seen these weird 2 wheeled thingers. I think they call them miter bikes or something? Idk man but it is a wild world. I wish people like you were out there to help educate us.
The carpet has got to go 😣. Just not practical, plus the color is horrific. I don't know how well you could sleep on that bed. I would need to get something to put on top of it, an egg crate cushion, or air mattress, due to back issues. Both could be rolled up for storage. Good luck.
Nice Old Timer Camper Van! Best Wishes and Happy Memories.

This thing is beautiful! Congratulations!
Thank you very much!
Had to do a rewindable on that head bump 3 times. I just kept giggling, Lol.
Love that vintage look
Looks like you have everything you need to travel whenever you want to. Enjoy!
This is a good looking van. I love older caravans and campervans. I'm sure it won't take long to make it how you want it to be for your family.
Very nice, dafe travels, Many Blessings?
Thank you!

It needs a major overhaul.

So bro , iknow , it hurts.
#MoneyPit Good luck!
Nice 👍 van 🚐
I would have never paid that much for a 45 year old outdated van😂
Good thing you didn't buy it then.

@@lastresort1757 5k CAD for the van and $800 for a clipper canoe that was on the roof. Works out to about $3600 USD
@@chucknology_ that’s a steal where I’m from

The truck camper idiots finally figuring out there's different rv options.
