I was hoping for a more in depth look at the difference in performance.
The mini has HALF power vs the V2 (1,000 watts, v2 has 2,100). Surely the acceleration must feel lacking, especially so when riding uphill.
Also was curios how compatible the batteries are. (Will a XR battery from the X model work on the S?, will a standard battery from a v2 work on the S?)
Anyways it was still a nice review, I just don't feel like I got the full picture.

the battery is non removable my friend. You're stuck with whichever battery you choose when you initially purchase the board.
"the battery is non removable my friend." Where did you see this info? I've just got a boosted rep tell me that you can swap out Mini S batteries with other Mini S but not with Mini X's. (like you cant cross over).
On the website product page it says "Standard range and extended Range batteries are not interchangeable" (Boosted Boards, 2018) So to me that means that it's only removable probably by boosted themselves when the board comes in for service. I'm almost positive you can't buy extra batteries because they've never done that with the previous boards.

@@steamytree7951 I know your comment is three months old, but i couldn't help but reply. The original boosted board decks (the longboard model) are the furthest thing from trash. They are Loaded brand, are made from bamboo, and come in many different flex amounts for different body weights. I have a loaded deck myself, and I think it whoops ass. I love it.
@Justin C I am not talking about boosted. I understand that boosted boards are over priced. The deck itself that boosted originally used was made by a brand named loaded. They are a good company with good quality products. I can not speak for boosted.

orrrrr spend the same amount on a diy board, put in a little work, and have a 25+ mph 15+ mile range board. diy is the wave yall. also my estimations are very general, my current build is about 800 and predicted to be about 35+ mph, and 20+ range. just depends on your gearing, battery motor stuff

Awesome review as always! Looks well built and a great addition to the Boosted lineup. There are also many other good boards available now, from many manufacturers, with their own strengths and weaknesses. It's also relatively easy to build your own custom board, which you can find many videos on. I think Boosted is the undisputed leader only when it comes to marketing and brand recognition.

This is very exciting! While for Montreal I've loved the idea of some of the longboards with the even larger wheels (poor roads/paths in the city), this is definitely more practical and I can see this as a good commuting option.

I’m no pro butttttt for the turning, just loosen the trucks for any board. And the mini is also a cruiser type of board and it’s supposed to be portable and stuff while the big one is meant to for hills not city type of stuff even tho Casey does that. Good video tho man!!!

I'd love to see someone with a more surfer-style technique review the turning capabilities. There won't be much turning with those straight, stiff legs.
I would argue that this new boosted mini is the model s, and the longboard is the model x. I believe we are, and should be still waiting for the "model 3", $750 is not affordable at all
Kellan Neill In my country I can buy a complete motorbike for this price fully certified Euro 2 emisions with everything that comes with a motorbike and 0 KM on the speedo. This piece of plank with a few batteries and control setup is nowhere worth that. People are just paying for the sticker.

Epic I wanna buy a mini now the problem with the OG boosted was it was to big & bulky for me great review thanks bro
The only reason you would consider boosted board as your transportation is its portability (6~7kg). They seem to have very limited battery of 2,000 watts meaning an average ride distance of 11km on full charge (if your commute distance is at least 4~5km you should multiply that by 3 to be safe!). Basically no suspension and maximum speed is about 35kmh. Not to mention if you wanna go up hill you need the Boosted Dual that costs $1000+. For its current state it is a very niche product and I suggest for people to hole off until they become much more refined.

Slow Ninja 23 I thinks it's more of an inside joke at least to me. For example he complained that the big one is hard to hold yet was holding it in a way that of course made it harder. Hold the board on the side in stead of the trucks boom the problem is gone.
David Alvarado it’s an inside joke for people who don’t skate who think they know about skating lmao. Anyone who actually skates can attest that sometimes the truck is the most convenient place to grab the board depending on what you’re doing. And besides, riding an electric skateboard makes you ten times more of a poser than grabbing your board by the trucks

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the Lou Board, which looks to be a more svelte version of what Boosted has done here and at a similar price, but with brushless hub motors, unibody/integrated battery, and weather sealing. It seems like a more compelling package (especially seeing as it just rolls like a normal board even when it's dead), but if it doesn't compare quality-wise it's a moot point.
I'm convinced that Marques is the most educated of all the tech RUclipsrs.
