Same here. And it didn't age well. The company went bust basically because of this overpriced short-ranged no-suspension scooter, and it's not being made anymore. Marques could do with testing out a Dualtron, maybe the new Ultra 2 or Storm. Or the Inokim OXO, or the new Apollo Pro or Ghost.

I love my boosted rev. I use it to get from my apartment to the metro and it makes my commute fun, fast, and easy. It’s not the most fun on the subway in nyc since it’s more compact but I don’t even fold it until I get on the metro train where I live. My apartment actually has a charging station for electric scooters for people to use so it doesn’t take up space in the apartment. It’s great! I 100% recommend it to commute with.

based on the basic specs alone this is worth about three times the price of the cheapie on walmart. and that doesn't even factor in build quality or support potential. the price is entirely reasonable. as someone with an ebike i am almost insulted by people trying to compare this to a walmart cheapie.
My question is.. If my city has banned electric scooters due to scooter rental companies like BIRD and LIME will I get in trouble for riding my own Boosted Rev?

Remember...you only get in trouble IF you get caught! ;-). Frankly, if a city banned electric scooters, then they are banned for whatever reason but they cannot ban anything to protect companies business. That’s called bribery. In short electric scooters are either banned in general in your city or they are not. If a rental company is renting them then...they are perfectly legal to ride

I like the speed option being faster. The two things I would of thought of being available on this scooter would be. One a battery that lasts longer and the suspension. Those two things I would like to see them do for the price there charging for this scooter.

Electric scooters are gay anyway. On top of that, smallest of bumps and you feel it everywhere in your spine because of the tiny wheel size. And not weatherproof. Shitty range and portability as well.
How does 18 inch wheel on a personal electric mobility device sound? What if it can take you offroad and it's weatherproof? What if you could go 150km (93 miles) on one charge? And roll it like a travel bag when you're not riding it. Look up Kingsong 18XL.

I bought a scooter two years ago (GLION). I love it except for the hard wheels. Seems like this one too has the same ride. Uneven surfaces jar the fillings in my teeth. I wanted to know how quiet this scooter rides. The GLION has loose parts (towing handle) that sounds like the scooter is falling apart with the rattling. I enjoy the ride. But the cheaper buys look good too. 24 MPH is fast. Top speed on mine is 15MPH and I’m afraid that one day I’ll need to bail (car door opening). Have fun riding though. Great review.

There’s a barrier to entry there that he personally can’t justify as he stated in the video because he doesn’t have a short commute to warrant the purchase. But he can wear his $160 sneakers that he paid resale for all day every day.

Something like this would have been perfect when I was at college living at the dorms, and we had a grocery store 3-4 miles away. I do have to wonder if a similarly priced electric bike wouldn't be a better buy though, because you have suspension and more control. Only downside is they aren't as small/portable to tuck and stow.
I'm glad I got one in college with me right now. Walmart and a few restaurants are less than a mile away from.
But that sounds like an American problem. All due to its very strict zoning laws, forcing you to go across town just for the grocery store. It's not like that in the rest of the world.

There is a scooter out there called the zero 10x and has 20 times more features then this can go up to 50 miles and goes 40mph. These people are selling the name just like apple. For a shit scooter that you can compare with a 400 one.

Boosted Rev: more like a Jeep ( looks like it's built well but gets horrible milage and speed isn't a strong suit.)
The REAL Tesla of scooters I would argue to be the Dualtron 3 with the fancy LED stem lights.
FYI for this price, you can get a scooter on aliexpress that goes to 80km/h. Friend bought it, is super happy. I built my own eBike (1500w, 60km/h) from Aliexpress parts for $400 and it's a third year without any problems.

and electric scooter has specific advantages over a moped or moto... you pay nothing else, you don't need a licence, you can take it home to whatever floor you live, and into many other places (supermarkets, shops), charging it is many times cheaper than petrol, you can ride in places where motor vehicles are forbidden. In town you can get much faster to some place that is only a 1-2 km or miles away

It's so expensive and the thing about the Xiaomi is that it's so popular there's tons of people making mods for it like suspension, parts are readily available too and you can hack it. So it more than makes up for its other shortcomings.
Screw that, it should have suspension at that price.
Heck, you can get a Nanrobot D4+ for hundreds less and it has full suspension, goes 40 mph and has a range of 45 miles. Then again, it is a lot heavier.

I have a friend that has one of these its very rugged too he takes it everywhere in trails and everything very quick too. The build quality is eh but its a powerhouse for sure
Dual motors and dual suspension is the way to go. The regen it's more evenly applied.
friend, spec that out and see how well you do with the price. you will blow 1600 bucks away. keep in mind that most ebikes and escooters use off the shelf parts and apply a custom frame and an off the shelf ebike kit to them. you couldn't build that for less than 2.4k, and that is with you doing all the legwork. you could probably build THIS scooter for around 1400-1500 yourself, but that wouldn't come with any support or warranty, and you would have to literally build it yourself.

Paid $849 for my Segway ninebot goes 32 mph in sport mode which was a surprise because it was not advertised and it has a 41 mile range which I’ve gotten close to 50 miles on a single charge also not advertised definitely was on of my best purchases
So glad i picked up a folding ebike with Fat Tires for $899 Brand New and Shipped to my house with one year warranty, Front and Rear Fenders, Front and rear lights, Rear Rack, and Delivered to my door.
I would of felt pretty stupid paying so much for a scooter and one I can't even use in the Rain. Some Companies like to push it "Price" to the limit :o/

I'm waiting for these to become legal in Australia and I'll be buying one. They seem so so so fun! I ride a bike every day, sometimes my legs need a day off but I still want to start and end my day outside. Today it is raining with 40k winds and I'm absolutely dreading riding home BUT still better than the train and being stuck under a strangers arm pit. Sweeeeeet.

The fact that you can't ride it in the rain and that it costs $1600 makes me wonder what the target demographic really is? If you can't ride it in the rain, then it's not going to be a reliable means of commuting. And then what about locking it up?

They didn't make it waterproof because most people wouldn't ride in the rain. You wouldn't want to ride it in the rain, trust me - you need _to know_ that you know exactly what you're doing,as you can lose contact with the ground and crash in a fraction of a second. I had a razor RDS scooter and ride fast - if you aren't actively riding/pushing manually, you can zone out and become complacent, and as soon as something happens you won't have time to react.
Disappointing though. Says more about the scooter overall.
I just bought a Apollo City Scooter with more impressive specs and price, Should receive it next week. I went to try 3 different models and chose de City model for my need.
Numbers are: top speed= 25 miles/h or 40km/h, 25 miles range or 40km, weight= 39 lbs or 18kg and it has a hydraulic suspension at the price of $949 USD or in Canada, I paid $1299 CAD

I have the Xiaomi M365 and I love it and it’s been good to me. Only paid $200. I think it all comes down too if you got the money to buy the Mercedes of scooters then do it, but the Xiaomi is not a push over scooter, there are a lot of trash electric scooters on the market that are not good. The Xiaomi scooter, because the boosted rev hit the market has taken second place in my opinion, that’s it.
For $1600 you could build an ebike that goes 60km/h and a range of 60 km
Yeah and they already exist, the Mate X e-bike is €1900(so around $1600) and has a range of 75 miles. I know boosted have a reputation but it's too much for s scooter that you can't ride in the rain.

Exactly. If you buy scooter for $400 then there is a point: it's cheap, fast in the city centre and portable. But what's the point of this $1600 beast? For such price only an e-bike would make more sense (better handling, more comfortable, usually has suspension, isn't afraid of potholes, faster, better range, usually you can carry more things on it, etc, etc...). Scooters would win over e-bikes because of their portability, but really there is not so much portability in this tank...

I would suggest a the Gotrax G4. Goes 20mph, 25 mile range, digital and physical security lock, cruize control, air-filled tires and $640. I got two of them used for $400 each. I highly recommend it.
