A Quick Look at Cara and nanoRings | Mutable Instruments Clones by After Later Audio

- As mentioned in a recent video, I am selling off a number of my Mutable Instruments modules and replacing at least 2 of them with Cara and a small nanoRings clone, both made by After Later Audio (I love you guys). The package just arrived at the door, so into the rack they go for a quick test.
Since there was a lot of discussion around "tiny pots" on micro-clones, I wanted to demonstrate what Cara and nanoRings truly look like next to my sausage fingers, and show that, at least for me, I think they're going to be fine replacements.
Included is a track that played as I was talking. Enjoy!
As always, thank you for watching, Liking and Subscribing ❣

This video series is not an endorsement or a recommendation for which modular gear YOU should try. This is only my experience and the option(s) I chose to pursue. If you blow yourself up, do not blame me.
Side note: This little film was made using the Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K G2 that I talked about a few weeks ago. It is turning out to be wonderful for this close up, wide shots in the dark 🥰 Check that out here if you haven't already: ruclips.net/video/r53-huvQtGA/видео.html
It's pronounced rings!!! 😂
🤣
I *love* ALA's stuff. Been debating between getting a Cara or their full-sized "Chance" for a while now... I definitely see the size argument when it comes to the nRings (I'd have a hard time with those knobs), but the Cara's layout seems just fine to me. Small, but not cramped.
nRings having chubbier knobs where it counts was a relief. Attenuators can be tiny, they usually are.
I have a full size, as well as the Cara and I honestly feel like the latter is no less playable or usable than the full size. The only thing that could be a possible deterrent is if you need access to the deja vu buttons which are nice and big and bright on the full size. But as a patch, set, and forget module it's perfect. The only ALA version of any of their modules that I don't like is the knit because it's absolutely impossible to keep in tune with the trim pots, whereas the beehive is perfectly usable
You can always add some trimmer toppers to those pots. Thonk sells these. Cheap and it works well.
Brilliant. Thank you!
My LXG arrives tomorrow with a Wogglebug
That should say DXG... ooops
Wogglebug is an interesting beast.
@@VisionsMusicGroup I finally got a Rene and Tempi, so figured the Woggle was mandatory ;)
