I have been using the duster for the past five years now and it’s as good as when I bought it..... the ride quality is amazing ... your can drive for hours and hours non stop without feeling tired .... yes it lacks in features for sure but for that you simply can’t compromise on ride quality and comfort which the others lack .... if anyone wants to buy a car then one can surely go for it
Just like the classic jeep.. Duster is the similar icon of modern times.. That classic shape won't die down, and interiors are meant for an offroader,I repeat offroader, just functional and bare bones, not for shopping with wife and kids...thums up for duster.
The best Reviewer on you tube who doesn't blabber like others talking much about features and looks , but on driveability and the real technical aspects related to the engine and performance, ride, steering feedback, suspension, cornering, road manners etc. Superb !
Test drove it and I freaking love it (rxz manual 1.3) . Push the pedal to the metal and it pushes you back in your seat plus it sounds so good. Took it over some bad roads and potholes and you won't feel uncomfortable at all. Also the steering is not heavy at all unless you're coming from an electrical power assisted steering wheel. Duster's got a hydraulic steering wheel it gives you confidence on higher speeds so plus point. Sure the interior looks outdated which is noticeable when you sit in creta or seltos but this car is beyond those two.
Still One of the car where 5 people can sit comfortably unlike Venue and Sonet... Really disappointed by Sonet backseat.. Cancelled my Sonet booking...
1.5 NA engine MT has better response than turbo...I booked one recently as this beast is unmatched when it comes to cabin silence and suspension....better than kushaq and taigun
When Duster RXZ(manual of course. Nobody will buy cvt) is compared with same price Seltos or Creta, duster is definitely definitely a good package. Basically it comes down to the matter of how much money you want to spend and what trade off you are willing to make.
Why are you comparing the CVT s with the Corean DCTs.......Do the performance comparisons with Manual transmissions..... Turbo petrol with stick-shift would be far better than CVTs...
@@zenjm6496 The price difference of the automatics being compared! Even the CVT's on Kia's and Hyundai's are more expensive for that matter. So this aint a proper comparison.
Suv mainly depends on the dynamics of the car, still it's width and length is more than creta and seltos. Duster can taken into any roads due to its approach angle(raised front bumper) and 205mm ground clearnce compared to creta and seltos. Duster had 4x4 model which has same dynamics .
Duster really need an update in terms of interiors.. who will use that steering column mounted controls! I remember Ford figo also had updates similar to this..
This manual turbo engine is a beauty test drove it handling and drive is fantastic, the interiors definitely needs a big refresh, if you are looking at the drive dynamics without the knick knacks then this is your car.
i had renault captur platine diesel model . i think same music system . its has really good audio quality . Now i had got used to music controles . i have driven creta diesel .its really very very easy car to drive . But capture its complicated . but ok. want's for city go for creta .
Naturally aspirated Engines are more maintenance friendy. Turbo charged engines need more maintenance as oil changes need to done professionally at the dealership.
blessindia1 the difference is not much in cost around 500-1000 bucks but you also get much better performance and better mileage in highways in turbo petrol
I think the least they could do was atleast try and liven up the interiors. The main grouse of the Duster has always been the interiors. While i feel the exteriors with the last updated and this shade of blue still makes it look good, but I am wonder which blessed person sanctioned those brown fabric seats? That with the contrast patches on it looks straight out of 90s ambassador taxis. Add to that a shiny hard plastic dash and the 90s design, it really doesnt help. But if I was in the market for a turbo petrol SUV, I would still buy it. It may not be a hardcore off roader but it still has the SUV bits that the koreans cant match. Yes they have a fancy features, but to me the Duster, as rudimentary that it might be, appeals alot more to me. Only thing is I would choose the MT over the CVT. Hopefully we will get to see a MT review may be atleast as a comparo.
Based on info in this video, appears renault is selling the 1.5 ltr petrol as well. Will you / your team be able to compare the on road driving characteristics of the 1.3 turbo with that of 1.5?
Major drawback of this car is touchscreen position, as it is placed downside, it's very difficult for driver to use it while driving. Secondly, instead of traditional hand rest, a glove box can be provided. Spare wheel can be placed inside car at boot area.
RENUKA its a great Review! But i was expecting the review of the Manual. I mean who reviews a Duster in CVT? CVT gearboxes are known for the rubberband effect. I just wanted your prespective on the clutch side of this so called Best in class engine power (156). 👍Otherwise loved the way you reivew❤️
I own 1.3 Rxz Cvt & believe me, it is the fastest & smoothest ride one can get his hands on. In case, you’re looking for a package offering power on tap, road-presence, plush ride/handling with a topping of regular safety & comfort features, this is it. Sadly, with Renault pulling the plug out of Duster brand this month citing low sales, has given owners like me an opportunity to be a part of an elite club, who have had been lucky to enjoy an engine codeveloped with Merc(Daimler Chrysler) & doing duty in some of its range of products which cost north of 40 lacs INR.
Duster is one of the best suv with this engine it is even better, only downside is the interiors and the instrumentation. Interiors and instrumentation makes this car out dated (10 year old).
Duster is one of the top models in past ..But now so many suv's are sailing top the market .. Renault should upgrade the outer look and interior to bang the market again ..
This is a great car. I bought duster CVT in 2018 and I still enjoy the drive. Renault introduced compact SUV segment in India with Duster. To rewrite the success story again, Renault should focus on upgrading the design and features. Compact SUV segment has become the most lucrative market for first time car buyers and there is already so many options available n this segment now.
This car has so much potential.... Only if Renault could update duster a little... Especially from interior, it can easily compete with current lineup of Nexon, Creta, Seltos...
Yes the duster is a very good practical SUV. It looks good, the performance is good even the handling is impressive , but the interior could have been updated. Even smaller compact SUVs like hyundai venue, kia sonet Gives better features and has very beautiful, modern looking interiors. So if renault gives a better looking interior to the duster just like its competition the hyundai creta and kia seltos then its will be a great.
Yes all CVT from Renault Nissan are JATCO. There has been reliability issues especially with more than 150k km which lot of cars run in US compared to India. Most of the models for 2013-2017 I hope now they are reliable. Meanwhile I own Nissan Altima 2019 with same JATCO CVT 🙁
It makes me sad...how renault killed duster in India when it had so much potential
Because of our stupid tax system no company can survive but cheap and worst car makers
This car is screaming for a total upgrade
Car are not living beings...So Only they can't scream
My guess is as usual, the new model is more expensive, might come to india next year when/if they find ways to make it cheaper.
Duster was such a good car but renault messed it up by not updating it and not launching next gen model. It is outdated as hell.
Yes I agree. No AWD also
They've launched in rest of the world but India...
If Renault had updated all features with maintaining the same SUV DNA ,its price would have been far away from Indian customer ..
Like polo
"Hell" is never outdated, sir! The devil is watching you!

Engine is potent but the car is too long in the tooth now! Need the new duster in India soon.
Also their service is very bad my duster spent more time in the centre than in my house for about 2years
DREAM CAR. 10 MORE YEARS.. AND I AM GOING TO HAVE IT ❤️😊
The Interiors looks so much dated. Looks late 2000ish. The position of Touch screen is too low for practical use.
Renault will be hot property in 2021 .. Alonso coming back to f1 🔥

Come on Renault..... upgrade your interiors. That's where the owner is present most of the time.
The duster is originally part of the Dacia brand in Europe, which is the barebones economical subsidiary brand of Renault
Still One of the car where 5 people can sit comfortably unlike Venue and Sonet...
Really disappointed by Sonet backseat..
Cancelled my Sonet booking...
hahaha cancelled Sonet toy model?
Can you plz explain How is the backseat of sonet??
Well the sonet's road presence isn't that great .and it's rear looks very ugly.
Good call
Duster is the real compact SUV, having characteristic of SUV
1.5 NA engine MT has better response than turbo...I booked one recently as this beast is unmatched when it comes to cabin silence and suspension....better than kushaq and taigun

Automatic vs automatic in the same segment. What's wrong with that?

Duster was the first one to set trend of compact suv in India and was my fvrt of all !
Even today in exterior design it's my personal fvrt !
I simply adore her .. from day one she is been so precise and clear which makes her special always ...
The selection of location itself shows the capability of Duster. Bdw they really need to work alot on interior quality
2:15 thats great result inspite of having cvt. It would have probably defeated the other 2 in 0-60 if it had dct.
would have.. could have.. that's the difference

Just look at the price Renault is offering the solid drive quality, handling ,the suspension setup which all are must for a SUV
Please include NCAP safety ratings along with videos....
Old dusters are still badass compared to the new one
MAJO videos i own 2013 model 110ps . It’s a beast .
Comparing cvt (duster ) to dct (kia )
CVTs suck. The Manual duster Turbo is Awesome
This manual turbo engine is a beauty test drove it handling and drive is fantastic, the interiors definitely needs a big refresh, if you are looking at the drive dynamics without the knick knacks then this is your car.
This car needs a total change .. it's very outdated now ..btw nice review and nice visual scenes especially the greenery ❤️
Excellent narration and unbiased view expressed
Thanks madam i really like your honest reviews, just curious why isn't anyone doing a review on Kicks CVT is out in the market earlier than Duster CVT
Loved it ❤
all Renuka kirpalani reviews are excellent ..👏👌
Love to own one!!!! Would love to see in my garage.... Will see you soon
If function is more important than form then this is the vehicle for you.

Wanted Manual

1.3 turbo in duster without a.w.d is very disappointing....still waiting for it to come in 2021...what do you think..
Same here waiting for the AWD.
No 4wd/Awd now Suv
Awd demand on the internet , no buyers in reality. That's why most manufacturers stay away from providing awd apart from pure offroaders
How can duster trail behind its korean compitators when it got more power and torque than them?
any chance of a facelift in 2021 with changes which are already there in international model like improved infotainment, and better package overall.
I love your reviews 👍👍

Money
@Autocar please come up with the issue regarding car companies giving fixed rear headrest.Cause its very unsafe for rear passengers.
This is an extremely underrated car. It has lost its previous sales figure but nothing of its goodies.
Why no one is reviewing Kicks CVT? It was launched earlier? Which one you would suggest between 2 why
I'm already a fan of duster😍😘😍😍😍
We need the diesel 1.5 back in next gen duster.
Pls pls make a new video of Ford freestyle 2020 bs6 engine
Brought a used duster awd in mint condition and fresh odo can't get anything better
Congratulations for your new ride !! Is it petrol or diesel ? Heard duster clutch is hard, not sure in petrol or diesel. Anything you noticed ?
Nice info. Nice video.
Please do a 2020Duster vs 2020Nexon petrol comparison vid🙏🏻

Rubber band effect is very less in this new cvt
Heavy clutch is the sore point of Renault Duster
CVT rubberband will be only with less powerful engine eg Baleno CVT has rubberband because of 85hp
I just think the music system should be a bit up in the console. At the place of a.c. wents!!!!
Can u pls give a review on MG gloster this is my kind request mam pls
Renault should really step up the game. The rivals are offering way lot more in the segment.
Please review Nissan Kicks CVT and maybe a comparison of duster cvt and Kicks Cvt also..
Its a real suv... I will trade anything in this world for that kind of ride quality...
I want to buy it but interior changed my mind
Go buy it brother
Interior never stays same
The thing which matters is reliability and cost of maintenance
I want duster 1.3 manual review. Cvt is known thing as usual
Saltos Diesel Automatic vs Creta Diesel Automatic top end's please.
Excellent review
Hello..Is Nexon BS6 AMT is a good buy? What is your suggestion.
Looking forward to the Kia Sonet review and its rival comparison.
Parfait!! As usual... 👌
Complaining about the interior quality in a Dacia(Renault for india) Duster is like complaining about boot space in a Ferrari.
The Koreans can be called rivals rather than being called as cousins 😂
Korean cousins means creta and seltos
kia and hyundai are cousins
is duster still has the AWD option or renault already removes it.
Compare the comfort section with nexon pls.....on bad roads...
The best car review channel. Wish it grow more and more😍😍😍
I have one request for the team that please ad a line tell that Car is which wheel drive.
Solid car...no car beat this duster..in this category

Ford ecosport ecoboost longterm review pls pls pls
Should I consider this instead of Kia Sonet, since the price category is same
What's the safety rating for this model? Will the new Logan launch here?
Waiting for this 🙏

Renuka ji which is the best Duster or XUV300
Eagerly waiting for the new generation duster already launched in Europe to be launched in india
does it still come with 4x4 ?
Duster is Wonderfull SUV, but want to improve OR changes as per world SUV available
Does it have the infamous JATCO CVT? One that single handedly destroyed Nissan in US and European market
