My father bought the 2012 Duster! At that time I was just 6 years old! The day we first got our car is the day loved that beauty! Today when I turned 18 years! And drove her for the first time there was a feeling of bliss for this beauty! It was a feeling of "TU PYAR HAI KISI AUR KA TUJHE CHAHTA KOI AUR HAI!"💗💗
In Dec 2022, We took 2 dusters from Kerala to Goa for a road trip. 1 car was a 2012 model 85ps and the second vehicle was a 2017 model 110ps. The difference between the quality of cars are so different.. The first gen one sounded like a ti when the doors closed whereas the 2017 one had a better Thud while the doors closed.. Overall quality itself was vastly different.

Own a Duster AWD in Amazon green. My first car and I must say, there are certain intricate differences the awd has over the fwd. - The clutch, on load if you switch to AWD the vehicle strains lesser and helps ease the left leg in stop go traffic. - Shorter gear ratios, it’s all torque in ANY GEAR. - And, AWD the capability and peace of mind it offers to get out of a sticky situation. Appreciate the EVO team bringing the almighty DUSTER!

I owned a Duster 2014 110 PS diesel for 4 years and drove it for 50k KM. Man o man wat a car it was, ride quality and engine no words. Even today, I miss and remember the long drives in that car. My parents were so happy and comfortable that they used to ask for long drives as they were never getting tired due to the suspension setup.

Downsides to the Duster were the protruding wheel arches that novice drivers will often scrape, the driver's perch that kept rocking every time you braked hard, the fuel injectors that had a propensity to conk off.
Owned it for 10 years drive it for 3lakh km changed 2 clutches over this whole span , it had steering issues and electri relay issue but that's about it ! 1.5 diesel engine gave a average of 800 km+ on a tank . No change on any other part of the mechanical ways apart from a comple suspension change on 1.8 lakh km . The suspension was so amazing that no creta no XUV or others have come close till now , the wide and short track did off-road like a 4*4 even not being so ! Like the seltos bounces and has a feel of unsure stability on rear while cornering this was so full of confidence and planted all around !
My brother brought a 2012 Duster Diesel 110 PS it had clocked 90K in 4 years and there was no problems and I have a very great memory of Agumbe ghats trip we went often. Later in 2016 the creta lauches and changed the minds of major population of this segment owners and the same year the duster had a water pump and few more work which made my brother to sell the duster for a Creta 1.6 Diesel
A wonderful recall of one of my favorite cars, and one that I was never able to get as my own....I had the opportunity to enjoy them, as my friends got them, and the AMT diesels were really the best of the lot, the convenience keeping away the very heavy-duty clutch, the space for the left foot, and the fabulous suspension setup...
I had a duster awd 2014 model for 6 yrs. Drove 1.5 lac kms. Absolute driving pleasure. Still find it difficult to get the same driving pleasure I enjoyed in those 6 yrs in another vehicle. One amazing machine. One challenge though in the later years was maintenance cost was getting pretty high. Very bad support from Renault. All said and done the engine and the suspension was a treat 👌
I myself had a 2014 and diesel 110 ps duster it was one day where I decided to finally mod it the next day was independence day and that's when my apartment got flooded and It was prooved total loss and later bought the tata hexa

Thank you Sirish Chandran. Your Border patrol videos inspired me to pick up a used 4WD Duster. 2Lac kms on the odo. Still drives like a dream. Its not a ladder frame 4X4 SUV but comes close in most aspects and exceeds in terms of ride quality. No worthy upgrades in market yet. Waiting for the new generation to launch.
I own Nissan Kicks 1.3 Turbo MT. Bought @ 14.20 L onroad in 2022. Smooth & refined engine having massive 154 bhp power & 254 Nm torque, Excellent drive feel, Brilliant suspension / ride quality, 210 mm high ground clearance, Commanding seating position etc.. Absolutely brilliant Car. I think Jeep Compass is the only vehicle which is having this much qualities. The other 2 cars that can almost match this much qualities are Citroen C3 Aircross 1.2 Turbo and VW Taigun / Skoda Kushaq 1.5 TSI
Have a ,2017 Duster diesel AMT, solid performance, superb ride quality, no new vehicle comes close, still using it. Only problem faced is replacement of two injectors....
Duster was the complete SUV. had a 2016 duster with 85ps engine. did 80k and sold it in 2022. a great mile muncher with mileage above 20kmpl at 90kmph. but was disappointing with air conditioning unit. still a great SUV and my dad’s favourite ❤️
I have a check engine light in my duster 110ps since 2019 and it is an 2012 model however there is no issue starting or driving the vehicle.. Many mechanics with latest scanner tried fixing it and few a times the check light went away for a day or two but it still sits in instrument cluster screen... Hahahaha I still own a beast as my city allows me 15 years on a diesel car "Duster" The feel, the power, the space, the ground clearance and offcourse the maintenance is so amazing ❤❤❤ I do have 2019 Creta SX as well but trust me Duster makes me feel like a spoil brat ❤
I know its the least popular duster of the lot, but we own the 2020 1.3 turbo petrol and what a beautiful engine! The mid range torque is addictive, can't get enough of it. Heard that the same engine also powers some mercedes models, which is no surprise considering the performance. Of course, the car is dated with regard to interiors and safety, but the engine and ride quality makes up for it.
Hi Bert, I own April 2017 duster diesel AMT rxz version. I drove back to back with creta and chose duster because of its ride quality...magic carpet.. Due to COVID lockdowns running is less, still it has crossed 60,000km Fuel efficiency is 17kmpl +/- 1 kmpl. Suspension needed replacement. HP fuel pump failed during warranty and was replaced under warranty. No other issues
My dad owns a 2020 85PS Duster, Bought it right before BS6 regulations kicked in..A gem of a car( 83k & counting), that suspension gobbles up bad roads, fuel efficient for a car of that size, good handling & a pretty good looking car overall..Sad renault had to pull the plug on the k9k engine and the duster brand as a whole.
My family is an abolsute mega fan of the Duster , we have had the 2014 110 ps Diesel Manual & after that the 1.5 Petrol CVT. Even after switching to the Harrier facelift , I must say Duster had the absolute best ride/handling balance for a mid size SUV , the french really know their suspensions. Sirish mentioned that the Dusters were always reliable but not the 1.5 CVT , we had 3 alternator belt snaps that left us stranded in about 30K kms , so we had to let it go. The performance & mileage was terrible as well. Can't wait for the 2025 launch , really exciting. And once again I am begging for a gone but not forgotten on Opel 🙏
First owned a 2012 model, used for event management Company we had. then bought a AWD for private use and AT for Company. Each of them were awesome and perfect for us . The only thing we thought it may had was a spec of 6Spd AT with a real 4 x 4 gearbox Paired with Super Engine. & by the way I love the Petrol to Diesel (Personal opinion😊)
Bought 2016 facelift variant and still own it. 67K on ODO and mechanically the car is still going strong. Have countless fond memories with it on the numerous road trips across the country. It’s a shame how Renault India treated it in last few years and finally pulled the plug. The after sales service also is not encouraging. A brilliant car in the hands of terrible management.
Drove the Duster 1.5 D AMT for over 2000 kms, a few months before diesels were discontinued. It was one of the very few diesels with a turbo whistle, which still plays sweet in my head. Sad to see the Duster discontinued as it was one of the most capable SUVs in its class 😢
The 1.6 petrol engine is actually a Renault engine. Its code name is k4m petrol engine. Its engine block is made of cast iron. The famous 1.5 dci diesel engine (code name k9k) uses the same engine block. Its engine block is common for petrol and diesel engines.
Sirish Sir it has been some years ago I had a long discussions with my senior Manager regarding Duster my perception then and there had changed since then awesome solid build road warrior SUV concept
I owned a 2016 85ps diesel variant and clocked above 1L km in 8 years. But unfortunately lost it in a major accident recently. I had no plans to change it but was forced to. Now I own a XUV700 but miss my Renault Duster.
An ex K9K 110ps Duster user- the biggest regret for me was not to choose the AWD. One issue I think that kept people away from the Duster in the later years is lack of safety- i.e. 6 airbags and ESP as standard. The Duster could have redeemed itself with the 156ps turbo petrol avatar-had it been given better safety equipment.
I Own Duster Diesel RXS AMT. It still a breez. It still gives me 15.5 mileage. I use it like my buddy. Only issue I have is 1. Ergonomics 2. No Back AC vents 3. Music system 4. Back space
I just love this series. Request Sirish to do an episode on the Maruthi 1000/esteem with all the updates and the rally/roadcross championships that it won.
I owned a Terrano 85ps and when I wanted to change my ride, I was not able to find a proper replacement for the ride and handling that the Duster/Terrano offered. I actually gave up looking for a car that offered the same sense of space, ride comfort, handling, FE and the massive boot all together!!! Surprisingly, my family of 5 members were very comfortable in our Terrano (with 3 at the back comfortably!!) We had to let it go due to two main reasons, 1. Parts were expensive, making the maintenance a conscious expense. 2. We couldn't live with the poor AC that couldn't cope-up with the hot weather we had.
I still enjoy my 2013 Duster Diesel 85PS and even now nothing to beat that engine & suspension. Though I waited for the new duster it's taking too long and so went for an XUV700. Still I kept the duster with 1lakh+ km enjoy it the same way. Maybe will replace with the new Duster when it comes!

We own a Nissan Terrano Diesel, which is a sibling model. It has a fantastic engine and provides reliable performance.
The dreaded Continental injector failure in the k9k 110ps needs special mention - the Achilles' heel.
Drove the 110ps amt for 6 years ❤
I still miss that ride quality
Congrats. How many kms have you driven and did you change clutch. If so, how much did that cost. Did you face any Judder issue. Thanks in advance
@@aruldev91
60k kms approx
The issue had started to show up occasionally but i had already put it up for sale by then
I'm not sure how much it would cost, but flywheel is expensive
How much did your asc quote?
@MrPRIYANK94 Okay. They quoted 73k with flywheel replacement. I thought, it is still okay to go with it considering the other car options that we have in the market now. I will be getting the car tomorrow back from service.
Thanks for sharing your experience!
Even I have the same AWD in same color 🎉
@@pratikindia27 let’s go brother! Any mods?
@@akshaivijai6832 No.. I typically do Himalayan road trips on this.. or forts n all nearby maharashtra, Pune. I have kept it as is.. no mods as such. I just carry basic stuff that's it..
@@pratikindia27 Likewise, planning for a tyre upgrade that’s it.
I have a white 2014 Nissan terrano 110, it's my daily and it travels around 60 kms daily in pune, still a rocket ship, tuned to 135 hp, beautiful car, IYKYK🫡, 10 years of amazing memories, what a machine ❤️🙌
We owned a duster in 2020 later we sold it and bought Fortuner in 2021. but we hardly miss its practicality, fuel efficiency, and way of commuting. Now we have both.❤
I owned a Duster 2014 110 PS diesel for 4 years and drove it for 50k KM. Man o man wat a car it was, ride quality and engine no words. Even today, I miss and remember the long drives in that car. My parents were so happy and comfortable that they used to ask for long drives as they were never getting tired due to the suspension setup.
At one point in time... I almost bought the Captur... drive it... loved it... 😍
I really wish to buy that car...
@@Jishnuk011235it is a good car to buy in a used market… i have been owning captur since 2018 and it still runs as good as new…rear seat us not as comfortable as creta… but behind tge steering it is totally a different beast… highway ride is tge best and i wish to keep it forever
Downsides to the Duster were the protruding wheel arches that novice drivers will often scrape, the driver's perch that kept rocking every time you braked hard, the fuel injectors that had a propensity to conk off.
One the best car with amazing ride quality and superb diesel Engine ever rolled on Indian roads.
New gen cars simply cant compete. Still have a 14 model duster and its simply a legend.
I still own a Duster, the most comfortable SUV.
We hope you enjoy many more happy miles with it
My brother brought a 2012 Duster Diesel 110 PS it had clocked 90K in 4 years and there was no problems and I have a very great memory of Agumbe ghats trip we went often. Later in 2016 the creta lauches and changed the minds of major population of this segment owners and the same year the duster had a water pump and few more work which made my brother to sell the duster for a Creta 1.6 Diesel
miss my old duster 2016 rxl did around 1.14 lakh km and then sold it , parts are expensive but otherwise truly memorable vehicle.
My duster still runs like a charm :) love it
That's really good to know! :)
Still own a Duster awd, it's taken me to some amazing places.
Awesome!
Liked the butch look of duster, the design looked solid like a true SUV.
I myself had a 2014 and diesel 110 ps duster it was one day where I decided to finally mod it the next day was independence day and that's when my apartment got flooded and It was prooved total loss and later bought the tata hexa
I own a pre owned Duster 4wd 2018❤ am so happy.
There is a guy Mr Madhur Chauhan from chandigar, he is Service advicer for me and many duster owners.
He provide spares too.
Conducting service camps too❤❤❤❤❤January he wil be coming to Bangalore.
There's no doubt the new duster would be a great success in India if they priced it well.
I have renault duster 110ps diesel 2014model 2,70,000 plus driven with no problem the beast is teal going I am proud to own this legendry machine ❤
Thank you Sirish for this content .
❤my 2015 AWD 2.5L kms and on and on ....
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
We're glad to see you enjoy watching it :)
We need the new duster again
Hahahaha
I still own a beast as my city allows me 15 years on a diesel car "Duster"
The feel, the power, the space, the ground clearance and offcourse the maintenance is so amazing ❤❤❤
I do have 2019 Creta SX as well but trust me Duster makes me feel like a spoil brat ❤
Hi Bert,
I own April 2017 duster diesel AMT rxz version.
I drove back to back with creta and chose duster because of its ride quality...magic carpet..
Due to COVID lockdowns running is less, still it has crossed 60,000km
Fuel efficiency is 17kmpl +/- 1 kmpl.
I have driven a 2020 petrol duster and I liked it, but I went for Creta. My wife had a kwid 2016... But in 2022 she got an i20....
2016 85ps RXL diesel best vehicle performance punchy stable efficient... but high maintaining cost...sold at 2020 1.3lack driven❤❤
This just makes me even more excited for the new Duster, it seems to be amazing from what I've seen here in London
We will surely do an episode soon.
We agree, it's a shame how things turned out, but we hope you continue to enjoy many more adventures with it!
The Abarth Punto ,the Aventura and the Urban cross powered by Abarth. That was a great enthusiast's cutlet if u will
My wife & I own a 2015 85 RxL duster which we love.
I own the 2013 84 ps diesel just closing it on 2 lakhs kms and going smooth . Its gonna fo atmeast 1 lakh kms more
Drove the Duster 1.5 D AMT for over 2000 kms, a few months before diesels were discontinued. It was one of the very few diesels with a turbo whistle, which still plays sweet in my head.
Sad to see the Duster discontinued as it was one of the most capable SUVs in its class 😢
It really was a great diesel engine!
I have the 2013 rxz dci 96k kms done ❤️🔥❤️🔥
We wish you many more happy memories and miles with it :)
I owned 2017 AWD .it's fun to drive car
Thanku Mr.sirish🧍for making this wonderful 👌vedio👏👌 in GBNF series
🚗Duster 🚗 is not just a car for driving enthusiasts but its an🤘 emotion🤘
Appreciate your kind words 😊
I own 2012 model 110ps
The car is amazing 👌👌
My friend's dad used to own one and it was always a special ride whenever he used to drop us to school in it!
Thanks for sharing your memories with us :)
I have duster 2022 (1.5MT PETROL) & ITS AMAZING RIDE QUALITY IMPRESSED ME ALOT.
It indeed is impressive!
@evoIndia the size of duster still beat todays car in that segment
Sirish, can I know what and whose wristwatch you are wearing? By looking at the patina on the dial, I think its old..
Favre Leuba, a Swiss mechanical watch that was very popular in his grand fathers generation in India
The Name is enough ✨✨ let's wait for the comeback✨✨
Kudos to overdrive that they are giving tribute to old and the OG real suv............like tata safari 💯💯💯🫡🫡🫡
The 1.6 petrol engine is actually a Renault engine. Its code name is k4m petrol engine. Its engine block is made of cast iron. The famous 1.5 dci diesel engine (code name k9k) uses the same engine block. Its engine block is common for petrol and diesel engines.
It was so cool..actually, one of the few cars that have aged well. I would still own one without thinking twice!
16:10 face-lift in Indian versions were around September 2016 not end of 2017
Sirish Sir it has been some years ago I had a long discussions with my senior Manager regarding Duster my perception then and there had changed since then awesome solid build road warrior SUV concept
I owned a 2016 85ps diesel variant and clocked above 1L km in 8 years. But unfortunately lost it in a major accident recently. I had no plans to change it but was forced to. Now I own a XUV700 but miss my Renault Duster.
I have one it’s beautiful. Love the 110 diesel
We hear you, the diesel engine was a gem 💪
@@evoIndia yes it pulls like a train
Ecosport and Duster started the segment
An ex K9K 110ps Duster user- the biggest regret for me was not to choose the AWD. One issue I think that kept people away from the Duster in the later years is lack of safety- i.e. 6 airbags and ESP as standard. The Duster could have redeemed itself with the 156ps turbo petrol avatar-had it been given better safety equipment.
I Own Duster Diesel RXS AMT. It still a breez. It still gives me 15.5 mileage. I use it like my buddy.
Only issue I have is
1. Ergonomics
2. No Back AC vents
3. Music system
4. Back space
I just love this series. Request Sirish to do an episode on the Maruthi 1000/esteem with all the updates and the rally/roadcross championships that it won.
Appreciate your kind words. We will try to do an episode on it soon!
No body talks the heat resistant panel inside the hood of terrano and duster can cause fire ball
Especially if u are using it in hilly areas
I owned a Terrano 85ps and when I wanted to change my ride, I was not able to find a proper replacement for the ride and handling that the Duster/Terrano offered. I actually gave up looking for a car that offered the same sense of space, ride comfort, handling, FE and the massive boot all together!!!
Surprisingly, my family of 5 members were very comfortable in our Terrano (with 3 at the back comfortably!!)
We had to let it go due to two main reasons,
1. Parts were expensive, making the maintenance a conscious expense.
2. We couldn't live with the poor AC that couldn't cope-up with the hot weather we had.
This was not a car.. this was a contraption.... it was iconic though
Just when I was researching about the Duster!
Well done team
Thanks! 🙏
That’s great to hear you still enjoy your Duster!
