Duster segment first, then no update, no 2nd gen, no 3 Rd gen and gone
Kwid segment first, then the same story
Triber segment first, the no engine upgrade, going to complete 5 years in August - September now and the same story continues...
Renault is just not working on the major upgrades and moving to something next... Same mistake for so long.

I'm a kiger owner and I must say that it ticks all my needs within the budget. When I bought this many people in our town don't know about Kiger.I think Renault/Nissan should promote their products in rural markets where first time buyers will surely go for their budget friendly cars.

Renault was the first company to introduce the small suv with duster. They could hv dominated the space had they took india seriously by giving more features. Look how Hyundai captured with creta although duster was a better car than creta. But if you does to see, none of the international brands have taken india too seriously till now. Kia, hyundai, nissan, renault, toyota all has some fantastic model which are intentionally available but they are not launching them in india. Thats why great regards for mahindra and tata, they are coming up with some really VFM cars in india. Kudos to them

Well I really think VW did great with India 2.0 by giving skoda the leadership to lead projects in India... This led to skoda building Indian specific 5 star platform which got us kushaq, slavia(which saved sedan segment due to which we got new city and now verna), taigun, virtus and upcoming 4m car from skoda...
This upcoming 4m car from skoda will be 3rd car in this segment to get 5star after nexon and xuv 300 and first international brand to give 5 star quality in 4m segment...
This is huge win for skoda...
I know many are upset with superb being fully imported model and priced at 55 lakh... But India specific is huge hit... They just need to keep on adding features which skoda official openly said is the goal going forward... Bring in panaromic sunroof, Adas, 360 camera and they can push these India specific cars for next 10 years without bringing major change...

They should focus on 8L to 14L price band
    1) Car for youth
    2) Mix car ( Mpv+SUV) FAMILY + Some fun.
Pls conduct more drives in cities.. Take your car around let customers feel the product.. Triber should be placed in Goa beaches or on hills... Show the strength of the product first hand to the customer.
And pls get a turbo for triber. 🙏😊
I hope Renault guys are listening.

Thanks for the informative podcast as usual. Recent sales data for the EU shows a significant decline in the market share of estate cars. So much so that Mercedes Benz have plans to exit the estate car market in the short to medium term. The suv market segment in the EU is currently doing well.

There has been no word on the entry level budget 7-seater MPV of Nissan based on the Triber. I work just opposite the Renault-Nissan factory in Chennai but haven't spotted any test mules. Only seen the Magnite Facelift until now. Is the Nissan Triber-derivative coming, or has it been shelved? No news of it lately...

the Nissan Magnite is quite a beautiful car. I just wish they paid a bit more attention to the ride quality and interiors, like they did with the exterior. The car looks amazing from the outside, but rattles inside. Nissan has a lot of work cut out for them, and hope they improve soon.

You’re so wrong bring the patrol will make absolutely no sense, if launched it will 100% be on the CBU route which will make it even more expensive, Nissan should have products specially designed for India like Mahindra Tata, Maruti Suzuki. European cars like X-trail, Quashqai are very difficult to be sold here.

renault is one of the worst company to enter indian market.
they had duster which was the creator of mini suv market in india , and they didn't brought any any Generation Update , stuck with lazy facelifts. they had best diesel engine 115ps 6speed manual, amt , all wheel drive , 4x4. they just needed one Generation update of car which they didn't do in time and creta captured n dominated the complete segment till date.

This comes as shocker that the 2025 duster is not gonna be launched with hybrid powertrain. That would be a shame. How on earth does the media create a hype around hybrid only to be left wanting. Same like what happened with Elevate. Where are we standing with hybrid when minister Gadkari proposing 12% GST for hybrids? Still on paper ? Clearly the auto industry is on a turmoil. No one knows what the future? Is it electric or hybrid or flex fuel or CNG or Hydrogen ?

This stupid EV phenomenon has to stop at some point. Especially "affordable" EVs. Companies should focus more on hybrids for developing economies. They should let Tesla do what they do, or others should make a different portfolio or category to compete with Tesla in developed economies. But they should stop shoving EVs down our throats in developing markets.

  • @ravisr3401

Most European brands have had the going tough, only VW/Skoda have made a mark and have stuck around making India specific (el cheapo) compromises. The rest don't have as deep pockets and the commitment to "read" and "execute" products suited to India. They mostly have a "take it or leave it" attitude, a horrible product mix and market research. Citroen is the one testing the waters and is in deep waters or hot water as of now...Triber is a good product begging for a 1.2 Turbo petrol and a CVT gear box.

Suzuki is majority stake holder in the company now and the maruti logo has been replaced by suzuki logo so stop using maruti name to emotionally blackmail indian people and the second thing is a hybrid vehical still needs proper engine oil change and servicing so a hybrid vehical won't give you the space management advantage of a born ev it still needs proper servicing like a traditional ice and after some time even a hybrid vehical owner needs to replace some battery components of its car and the most important point is because indian people's perchasing power is growing most people will start buying 120-150 hp vehicles in coming years out of which 50-70% power will still come from ic engine which translates to aroung 80 hp which means a 1200 cc engine so what about reducing oil import of india and if hybrid vehicles succed it will have big impact on born evs, hydrogen fuel cell technology development HYBRID vehicles are being promoted by suzuki because suzuki knows that if it loses it's kitna deti hai advantage then it will lose its leadership.
