  • Hey explorers! This video is a good old fashion random find while out and about! Lots to look at and lots of questions about what happened? Why they left? Why they did not take their belongings?
It seems the place has been abandoned since about 2003 going by dates on documents.
There are a lot of personal information files and other things I cannot show but I can at least say here in the comments that the man who lived here was a bit of a jack of all trades and had several ventures in small businesses outside of his main work which was in the field of welfare it seems.
Put on your detective caps and enjoy the tour :-)

I know exactly who's house this was, he was in a Christian band and various performances. That film/act And The Big Men Fly was about footy and funnily enough a fictional team (at the time) called the Crows
I'm not sure whether he has died or if he's still alive, and I have searched but can't find. But it's sad to see some of that stuff just laying there. Very valuable and vintage things.
Nevertheless great find by you. I live in this area and it wouldn't surprise me if there was many houses like this that have remained mostly untouched for years.

Chuck Girard, from the poster you found, was a pioneer of what is now called Contemporary Christian Music in the 70’s. He was from Southern California. So was Evie (Tournquist). I saw one of her albums on the floor of one room. Loved the video, very interesting. Many seemed to get bad or weird vibes from the house, I got good ones.

Greetings from the USA. I really enjoy your videos, I love all of the detail that went into older Australian homes, I can't believe so many of them are up for demolition. It is good to see that they are at least trying to salvage some of the details before they demo them, but wow, there have been some really nice houses in many of your videos. I am assuming that white ants are termites. Here in South Carolina where it is warm and humid, termites will destroy any untreated wood in contact with the ground within months, so we have yearly inspections to make sure the house is not being munched. One interesting thing that I noticed about many of the older homes you explore, as compared to American homes of the same vintage, is the separate toilet and wash rooms. Here in USA they are almost always together in the same room. I have rambled long enough, keep up the good work!!

G'day Paul ... I haven't read other comments, so could be repeating other folks thoughts. I'm with you thinking a 1940s house. I think one of the people who lived there was a children's entertainer and linked with the Salvation Army. The Salvos cap is more than likely genuine, even with a plastic badge. The clock is not too old or valuable; probably 1980s. It is a Chinese replica. (I was in the clock and watch business for 35 years) The entertainment unit is top quality for its day, and would bring fair money today. Once again, a great find. Cheers, Ken

This sure is a mysterious and creepy termite invested house, with heaps of abandoned toys, costumes and old films. It appears this late 1940s to early 1950s home has been left abandoned for quite some time. Perhaps an elderly person once lived there. The resident was obviously an entertainer and enjoyed music and wearing costumes. I cannot help but pick up odd/uncomfortable vibes with this property though. In the footage I did notice there was a sign written with 'garage sale' and this property might have been a dropping point for denoted items, intended to raise money for charities. What an interesting discovery of the old 1970s Astor Solid State radio and record player, amongst heaps of other strange items. The wigs freaked me out a tad. The kitchen appears original, with 1950s benches and cupboards. The old bathroom is also original, with very little update, accept the toilet. Another later addition to the house is the mid to late 1970s front entry door. A most intriguing explore thanks Urbex Indigo.

    Quite a find !
We often salvage/demo houses filled with personal things like this. They have this strange emotional effect on me- which amuses my business pardners... but I get rather misty when I see all the cute abandoned stuff'd animals and toys-- like they are now homeless abandoned loved family members. Crazy, I know, but that's me.... :)
That was quite the power/fuse panel- I had to replay it several times to take in the technical details. In the US I don't see anything like that, even in old houses. It looked almost like an industrial factory control panel.
I guess we call the white ants by a different name here... here they are termites. If that was what you can see, it must be a thousand times worse where you don't see them. ......... its not (?) quite there yet, but one would think a sound, solid foot step would crash you thru the floor. Pity, but those buggers are nasty.
Thanks for sharing this ! :)

The room with the entertainment equipment contained a very valuable commodity...The Coca Cola esky. Commonly found at sporting events filled with ice and drinks, now worth thousands. It's sad how all of this stuff is left to rot and the house is eaten by white ants. So much cool stuff! I've never seen so many stuffed toys (especially the large bear). Definitely signs of squatters - the heater facing the mattress. Portable cooker and Coles bags. Also the boards on the floor.

What a collection of crazy stuff. I wonder if the squatter is still living there, that was the only clean room in the house. Well some what clean. Never heard of white ants, we have black carpenter ants and destroy stuff fast to. Keep finding these places Paul and I will keep watching

Solsound popped up a few times in the house and there seems to be a fair amount of old school entertainment equipment around. There was a company called 'Solsound Promotions of South Australia. Ltd.' Once upon a time. It looks like it was delisted about the same time as this house was abandoned. Maybe worth looking it up for your own interest. Cool explore. Cheers!👍🏻👍🏻

Be careful, that over turned flower pot outside that open window, tells me, someone else has entered. Be careful with squatters...ok, you're announcing yourself, great idea.
Let's explore yeah!! Not ransacked, but used as a dumping ground from squatters or homeless people. Some tend to collect things that might be of value to sell. Also another group are your locals who have too much unwanted stuff, and use abandoned homes to dump their garbage, or the fourth group Hoarders, this looks like their MO. As long as you are alone and safe, we are good.
Frame 6:58...Did sound like people whispering, which creeped me out!

  • @MrOnyxWolf

Seems like it's mostly used for storage. But still quite of things left behind that were from the 2000's. But the termites/white ants handiwork did a number to this place it seems. So that MAY be the main reason of abandonment.
I could be wrong though. But at least the bathroom is intact. Bathrooms are almost always the first things to get wrecked.

Me and I want that frigerator I've been looking for that type of style frigerator for a long time I would say that houses a little bit maybe like more towards 50s with the molding on the top knot forties again cuz for you would have more of a round look on the on the molding and everything they actually could be termites so there you go I think maybe that's a reason maybe they abandon it cuz it was starting to get eaten by termites and that would have cost so much money that the house was probably Beyond repair
