Somewhere in the southern countryside of Portugal there sits a long forgotten house…
Preserved for decades, the beloved home of a family, condemned by ill health.
It remains as it did the day they left, suspended in time…

All those amazing antiques are worth a fortune. Can’t believe they’re all left there to decay. Breaks my heart such a waste
The craftmanship that has gone into that trunk at the entrance is amazing. Very sad indeed to think this was probably a happy family home. Its all very interesting.
I never get tired of watching these videos. Love them. Can't believe how people can just leave this stuff behind
Great blue and white tiles, dark wood beds and dressers. Very country house. Lovely family. Big carved chest. It looked as if someone had begun to replaster and repaint walls. Thank you, this was another beauty of Portugal.
I’m always fascinated by the layouts of the Portuguese homes. There’s so many bedrooms in these places and I’m envious of all their storage space! Thank you very much for another interesting explore!! X
Loved this guys and loved that Jess found the photos of how it used to look, and the pictures of the couple who's house it was, wonder what happened to them, and for all there stuff to just be left like that, great explore guys well done 👍🤘💖
Pictures may have been to insurance purposes.
@@glendamaphis3995 That, and maybe to potentially sell the place.
I bet that beautiful home held 3 generations of the family. Antiques galore. Makes me a little sad the home and furniture are abandoned. So much energy. Respectful explorers. Thank you for sharing your adventure.
The artwork on the wall with the two boys at the fireplace is called After the Bath by an artist named Paul Peel from my hometown in Ontario Canada. Funny it's in a house in Portugal. Small world.
Just discovered you guys...so nice you are respectful
Portugal have some beautiful houses! Can't wait to see the full video 🤍
It’s so sad that people work hard all their lives for what they have only to have it left behind to rot. I guess the old saying is “you can’t take it with you” is so true. Good find Sam & Jess. Thank you.
I don't know how you two find such beautiful homes that are just frozen in time. The tile work always amazes me. Thank you for sharing everything with us!
I can't help but to wonder where are they what happened to them. To just vanish and leave everything behind. As if they've just disappeared into the Earth. It's quite scary. But at the same time so sad. To be able to go into this time capsule and see who they were. It's quite amazing.
Could be bankruptcy. Some properties are too expensive to repair or maintain they try to sell but no one interested so it's left to rot away until someone wants it for land. But then there are outstanding back taxes which make it impossible. All countries should do away with back taxes just to enable the land and or building to be used again,
Maybe death
So many abandoned homes right across the world. Where have all these people gone.
I loved how all the windows have a seat on each side. OMG the house was endless, it's so odd what was taken and what was left behind, I wonder if they took it or someone else, why would they worry about paintings and leave their teeth and clothes. they looked so happy in the photos, what the hell happened to them? and where are the children? Not to sound like your mother, please wear a mask the mold is bad, and the paint chips are probably lead based. This could cause a lot of health problems later in life. Love you stay safe and well.
Please DO wear masks!
Another absolute treasure and the usual perfect tour by the best explorers of all time. Thanks so much.
Another great video guys . The furniture is beautiful all the carvings it would be so beautiful if it were all renovated 💙❤️

Mind-blowing beautiful, with so many beautiful memories and furniture 💕 😍!
That wooden box, with the Chinese carving, is worth a lot of money, but only if it's in a great condition, no molt.
What a family history ,and all the beautiful bookcases, woodwork furniture ❤.

The cabinet in the dining room where you were looking at books, I ran back 3 times to catch the face on the doors it looked like an Aztec money face.
Loved the Portugal series very much! Thank you 💞😊
Amazing video Sam and Jess, what a shame everything was left behind such a beautiful place.
I just found your channel. I loved this house. It never ceases to amaze me how these lovely homes with all that awesome furniture gets left to decay. Great explore. I've subscribed 👍😀
Each place was a unique on there own but the room with all the murals was the best.
The chests in this place are beautiful. the woodwork is fantastic. It is a shame that this is going back to nature. Thank you for the tour which was very fantastic. lean on God

John Castle
Portugal
1939 - 1999
Artist biography
John Castle was a visual artist, John Castle was born in 1939 and died in 1999. Artists born in the same year and of the same generation are Marc Egger, Robert Lostutter, Anne Courjaret, Ricardo Bofill, and Patrick Bertrand.
Further Biographical Context for John Castle
Born in 1939, John Castle was largely influenced by the 1950s growing up. Abstract Expressionism prevailed in the 1950s as a chief method of painting, and explored ideas concerning the sublime and spirituality. Artists endeavoured to focus on painting’s formal properties, and Action Painting took inspiration from the political freedoms of the United States, in opposition to the strictures of the Soviet bloc. Significant artists of this period included Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, Mark Rothko, Frank Kline, Barnett Newman, Clyfford Still and Adolph Gottlieb. In later revisions, the contributions and efforts of female artists such as Lee Krasner, Joan Mitchell, and Louise Bourgeois have been recognised, amongst many other female creatives.
Beautiful furniture left behind. Lots of full bathrooms. Very nice 👌
Thank you guys, awesome again 👍👍👍
Another great explore. That would be a cool house to reno. So many rooms and yeah, that bathroom with the wall that didn't go to the ceiling. That was odd.
Loved this 😍
I love this guys ...thier vlogs and i love the voice over the vedio...iam so amazed ..of the antic furniture ...love the carvings in every furniture s so amazing...
Very interesting, I enjoyed your video
Great video samandjess ❤💯👌
Enjoyed thanks guys ❤
Very nice house. Thankyou for sharing.
Incredible episode and a wonderful location once again brother 💪🏻
Great video guys
That first chest was amazing, beautiful explore guys xx
That mansion was just stunning.
I took a screenshot of that beautiful '72? Citroën DS-21 sedan with aftermarket convertible conversion rotting away. The most innovation car ever if you only knew all of it's unique features that will never be used again. French engineering genius of the highest order. I had the '72 Red & Grey Safari Wagon for work & pleasure in San Francisco 40 years ago. Miss it dearly. Always wanted to have the modded cabriolet or even feel the softer ride of the lower pressure rear sphere suspension. The wagon looks most like a spaceship which was jaw droppin to me when 1st sawr one.
Watching content like this gives me surreal wander vibes 👍🏼🤝🤜🏼🤛🏼👌🏽👊🏽✊🏽🙌🏼
I'm getting a real eery feeling from this place 💕
It’s because all the windows are shuttered and the furniture is heavy and dark. It would look and feel completely different with the shutters open. Imagine the parties they had there.
Nice tour. Thank you 🐟
Awesome thanks
Great video people ✌🙂👍
The object they found that was kind of orangey and glassy looking was probably amber
What a gorgeous home and the furniture is amazing. Very fun to watch, thanks
Looks to be another great video
I find it really strange that there are so many abandoned homes and left with valuables . its so sad .
Every place he checks out always is full of books. And wonderful places
I just smoked a joint in dedicated to y'all. I love y'all and love your videos the most out of any other.
I think this is the best one ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Parabéns ótima exploração
Wat a place, you guys are the best👏
Love the music!
Amazing Explore
Brilliant 👍👍
The painting could be James casil if so it could be a valuable painting and should be rescued then sold and the money put back into the property to make it secure and preserved
But another great video guys xx
Oh cool cant wait.
I really love the old wood furniture, very beautiful, shame it's going to waste
I would check with the town hall and find out if someone still owns it....maybe relatives. So sad to see so much left behind, doesn't make sense
IM WATCHING AS ALWAYS.
That X-ray explains the need for the Tramadol....an opioid pain reliever for moderate to severe pain.
Such a lovely house but again a shame it’s been left to rot! If the houses around this one are the children’s, I wonder why they’re just leaving this house to rot??!!
Ashame. So beautiful 😍
ahhh man i didnt get any notifications for this and i set a reminder lol
That lump of stuff that looked like amber was probably rosin for putting on a violin bow.
Very nice
I love this house. I'd love to move in as is and fix it up as I go.
awesome
Wat a place can't wait 👌❤
Oh what an amazing place, the places you guys find stuns me. All the lovely furniture left, would love t be able to find the likes of for my place once its fixed. Sam and Jess you do an awesome job. Did you find enough bats, roaches and spiders on your adventure here hehe. The bat guano probably had a part in the smell you smelled🙂🙃😉
Blessed journey 🍀☘🍀☘🍀💜
That magazine was titled White and Black because the Spanish syntax is backwards from ours. But you have to love that country. All the pianos you've shown so far have candle holders. It's cool
Interesting old furniture in the living area 😃
Cool💙🌙🧡
Pictures of home furnishings are often taken for insurance purposes
Lov the vlog Margaret parker hi jess and Sam
What a shame!! I don’t understand why the districts do t reclaim and auction off tje antiquities etc to put towards community foodbanks etc.
Love from Bangladesh 💞🥰
