I have been treated by Dr. Kreitman @ NIH since 2001 and have met with him @ least twice annually since. While he is an innovative and highly regarded researcher he is readily available to answer questions and concerns. I am extremely pleased with his care and treatment and would highly recommend any clinical trial he leads.
Dr. Kreitman has incredible skill and passionate interest in solving the puzzle of HCL. He has been my doc at NIH since 2002. He remembers most everything about myself, my disease and my family,. God has blessed us with this brilliant scientist and genuinely nice person. I live a happy, healthy life because of the work of Dr. K!
After receiving BL22 I was placed on a schedule of periodic visits to the clinical center for followup exams and tests. I am currently on a two year program with flow cytometry the first year followed by a clinical visit the 2nd year. Needless to say, I have made numerous visits to the NCI with close interaction to Dr. Kreitman and his staff. I can honestly say, I have nothing but admiration and praise for this brilliant caring man and his support staff.
I was first diagnosed with HCL in 2003. After multiple relapses I was admitted into a clinical trial for Pentostatin with Rituxan at NIH. Treatment is going well and I feel better now than I have in over ten years. Dr. Kreitman, Betty Maestri and the rest of the team have always been accessible, kind, and caring. Hopefully Dr. Kreitman will be able to continue this important research and it will serve to save the lives of others.
I have nothing but the best to say of my experience at the NIH for hairy cell trial under Dr. Kreitman. He spends as much time as you need answering your questions and concerns. I have had a very good experience and highly recommend him.
My experience in the NIH hairy cell trial has been great! Dr. Kreitman is very responsive to questions regarding HCL, and the BMBs at NIH are the least painful I've ever had.
Dr. Kreitman may be a brilliant researcher but he has absolutely no interpersonal skills whatsoever. I don't know how many times I've been either stranded at the NIH with no admission paperwork, forced to stay overnight in the waiting room, and/or had to beg for medication to alleviate pain from bone marrow biopsies. He's far more interested in furthering his studies than in treating a patient as a human being. Think twice before entering into one of his studies!
