Thinking that the problem is far more important than your idea is an oversimplification. The idea is also important as it's your proposed way of solving the problem you've chosen to solve. Without an idea, which is really your way of delivering value via solving a problem (or, more broadly, providing a benefit since not all businesses are built on resolving some problem for a consumer), you don't have a business.
there is the classic store with brick and mortar let's call it 1.0 in this store, products almost never change and the owner chose the products it is boring now, there must be a new store let's call it 2.0 in this store, products always change and people choose the products there will be via an app on the app, there is a huge catalog, people choose the products that will show up in the store the store is constantly being supplied with the products people choose
India has a million problems, look around and see them. If we want to solve them, it will create 100 million useful jobs, a million problems will be solved and India will become a fully developed country by 2020. Bikash is absolutely right, we do not teach students to look for real problems and that is one major reasons we are still a "developing country". Let's look for and solve practical problems.
Thats what ive been thinking im tired of people draining our wealth to the foreign countries though they are not the ones to blame indian goods haven't been on par with the foreign goods there really needs to be more Innovations on our side
You'd think a channel with nearly 3 MILLION subscribers would have better close to clear audio quality and less than 20 videos that are uploaded at a time..
If problem hardness and solution effective are in balance and evolve together - PRACTICAL. If problem is too tough to solve, or solution is less effective - IMPRACTICAL Startup would succeed if it lands in PRACTICAL bucket. Else fail. But anyway, fun of startup is solving and learning !
this is just the central concept of taoism.. he applied it for a startup and he succeeded .. majority fail because of the pessimism that lurks inside them, killing the core system of belief.. feed the believing person and you shall grow inwards and outwards..
May not be the deepest in regards to content, but definitely an eye opener to get many in the right mindset of not just thinking about the next great idea, but also considering if your ideas solve a problem. Problems lead to needs in an industry marketplace. In order to make money in that industry, someone needs to provide solutions to those problems. The "great idea" is usually based around a solution for that problem that people would be willing to pay for. It doesn't always start with "the big idea", but more so the big problem.
90 percent failure is actually ten percent success. If you compare it to any other pursuit like cracking IIT, iim or even sevil service.. You find the the probability of you getting successful.

This is an absolute bullshit way to present anything. "know what your talking and what that people who are listening are learning from it" I think he was here to market his company, but he failed in even doing that!! Just 'cos the guy was from IIT Kharagpur doesn't mean he's got point!
Maybe this presentation could have been done better but general point is excellent one showing what matters most is finding a point of pain and solving it for people that are your target market.
great concept:"STOP looking for IDEAS, START looking for GREAT PROBLEMS"
awesome
Mostly true. However what problems did Facebook or smartphones solve? None! Some needs are created.
+Technology Wales thanks
+Technology Wales exactly 100% agreed. What problem does Coca Cola or Pepsi solve?
but many times all knows the difficult and great problem but no one knows the idea for solving it ...then only idea matters.....
