Here's a top 10 Worst Final Fantasy games from someone who actually knows what they're talking about. 10 Chocobo Racing GP 9 Final Fantasy IV The After Years 8 Dirge of Cerberus Final Fantasy VII 7 Final Fantasy XIV 1.0 6 Final Fantasy All The Bravest 5 Final Fantasy Explorers 4 Final Fantasy Mystic Quest 3 Final Fantasy Dimensions 2 Final Fantasy The 4 Heroes of Light 1 Final Fantasy II
Sorry; I'm not here to watch, only to tell you, you are wrong. Final Fantasy X-2 was a great time; I played it through 6 times, just to get all the dressspheres, spheregrides, and and max out each spell. I spent hours in the desert; trying to get the best cards, to win the card game. I even bought the Remaster; because it was X/X-2, and I love both those games. And yes; I will Die on This Hill! I don't need to watch this video; because everything you say is wrong with this game, it actually right about it. The was not only a great game, but a great sequel as well.
FF10 is just as linear as FF13, but nobody wants to acknowledge that. I tried to go back and get the Destruction Sphere in Besaid about halfway through the game because I realized I'd forgotten it, and I had to walk corridor to corridor through basically the entire world.
"Did you enjoy all these games? That's awesome! We'd love to hear from you, so let us know in the comments below" Bro putting up his shield before starting a controversy ☠️
While I agree that Dirge of Cerberus belongs on this list but I do think you are incorrect about the character Vincent. Also Vincent and Yuffie werent meant to be optional characters, they were cut from the original game due to lack of time so with Dirge I could see where they thought it was a good idea to tell more of his story (along with fans of the character) but just wish it wasnt this game. I do hope they treat the character much better in Remake.
The comments defending 12 made me happy. So glad that I was one of the few people who loved it. Sure, it's not perfect and kinda Star Wars-ish but it's still good imo.
They're just looking for things to fill the list. Why the hell did they choose 12, 1, 8 and 10-2?! Besides there's more bad final fantasy games like Mystic Quest, All the Bravest, The After Years (maybe), and that crappy mobile tower defense Final Fantasy XV game.
Final Fantasy XII is an amazing game in its own right, just an okay FF game tho. Final Fantasy VIII, yeah, even a lot of die-hard fans can't defend that game with all it's shortcomings. Final Fantasy X-2, its battle system is really the best thing about it, everything else is so "bleech". Final Fantasy (OG)? Really? Mojoplays deserves flak for this. Final Fantasy II definitely earns criticism for the leveling system. Final Fantasy XIII, best in the trilogy, but not great. Everything else here, I don't disagree, but they could've added Lightning Returns, All the Bravest, First Solider, or Chocobo GP.
My opinion on this: Final fantasy XII - difficult to get into for newcomers but 100% play it today with the speed boost. Don’t expect a good story but some very, very genius and creative gameplay with an insanely beautiful open world and lots to do. Final fantasy CC EOT - yeah he’s right. Final fantasy VII - you stop right there. At 3:30 I know you didn’t understand the system because it’s unproductive to level since the monsters scale with your level. Laguna was 10/10 and connected the dots wtf Final fantasy 1 - yeah the grind was awful. Play it on pixel remaster or even the GBA Final fantasy 2 - encounter rate was also terrible. I leveled up in the beginning for about 2 hours to have a smooth game but it was underwhelming. The emperor 10/10 glad he’s back in Final fantasy DOC - played in HS 15 years ago my opinion is worthless but I remember having fun considering the controls didn’t age well I’m guessing. Final fantasy XIV - I played it because I never got to play 11 but I just remember no one was on the servers it was a dead game… until realm reborn. Final fantasy Dissidia NT - if they just made it 1v1 less DLC and not stupid expensive in game content (songs cost you about 5-6 hours gameplay) was god awful. Final fantasy X-2 - straight up beautiful RPG gameplay. The dress system was godlike. The story was good too aside from the cringe YRP but the singing does tie into the story so it makes sense. It was just strange overall. Final fantasy XIII - I don’t understand the hate on the linear style it had. look how long it took to make ff15 and it wasn’t even ground breaking. People have unrealistic views on how open world should be. People expect CGI quality gameplay because it’s square with 100+ hours of open world content and will complain if it’s more than $60. Look past that and you’ll see 13 was good but play the trilogy too. And if you don’t like the story/rpg gameplay then you’ll finally have formed your own opinion. Or play ff12 since that has a good open world.
Don’t compare FFXV to FFXIII. You’re just jealous their characters aren’t whiny losers and blame each other for all kinds of stuff. Also, none of their characters are Ignis and thus the game is automatically worse
Final Fantasy xii is amazing! I liked it way better than 10 in my opinion. Then when they released the zodiac age on ps4 I had to buy the collectors edition it was worth every dollar
One thing I absolutely hate about FF1 is that in one of the final towns, the amount of money you need to pay for magic spells is broken. In the same line where the price is shown, the level of the spell is shown and in one of the final towns the price gets so long that the digits „merge“ with the level number, making it look like it’s more expensive than it actually is
No, it isn’t. The prices of the spells are very clearly laid out, and the amount listed is the price you pay for the spell. This is the case for Gaia, Onrac, and Leifin all the same.
@@topfranluis1 I doubt there is a NES game Ive played more than the original Final Fantasy cart. The only thing in question is your ability to read an in-game menu.
@@54raynor Bro, the digits merged with the level number which makes them look more expensive then they are. That’s not even an opinion, you’re just wrong
@@topfranluis1 no, actually they don’t. All level 7 magic is 45k, all Level 8 magic is 60k. Says it as plain as day. And even if you do have trouble reading it, both level 7 and 8 magic can be purchased at two different magic shops (unlike every other level of magic). There is nothing “broken” about it.
Well i played all of them, I agree with their list but I wouldn't name the video "Worst FF games" rather "Least Favorite FF by Fans" because the word "Worst" will trigger a lot of fans lol xD. They are the least favorite FF games for me also. But overall, all Final Fantasy games are good and each have their own special touch!
Reading the comments I read all the 12 as 13 and thinking that's not right... Then I saw it was actually 12 and went, "oh, no that's actually a good one".
FF2 showed that Square was willing to explore new mechanics! Dont egg on it just because the game became too grindy. If you look at it ff2 had very mature themes, a good soundtrack and story as well as a villain who had an impact within the story
FF2 had an excellent story, some great characters, and introduced the quirky humour and tragic elements that the series became known for. It only suffers from its bizarre and awkward levelling system and its exasperating quest prompts,:where you frequently have to backtrack to talk to a character again to pick up on something you've missed, so you can return to where you were and advance the story. Exploring dungeons can be frustrating, with the multiple mazy alternate routes you have to go down to get all the items: involving backtracking through various random encounters if you're unfortunate enough to go the way first that advances the quest you're on. But it doesn't deserve to be on this list, and it has one of the most beautifully designed final areas of any game in the franchise.
Your game sucks, just deal with it. Not even the Pixel Remaster could fix this heap of junk completely. There’s nothing more embarrassing than a fanbase that blames everyone else for their game not being successful, because „waaaah waaaah, you just don’t understaaaaand it like we do“
Tbh I like FF XII It's good step up from the traditional turn base rpg, still remember first time playing it on ps2 Yeah I know, by today's standards, FF XII combat is considered slow but for its time, it is a really a great style combat
Love play Dirge of Cerberus. Definitely one of my top favorite Final Fantasy games. I enjoyed and finished Final Fantasy on the PSP release. Tricky knowing what to do or where to go but had the time of my life. Dissidia NT is definitely not as strong as the first two, but it was still an enjoyable experience. Plus, I like the new playable characters that were added.
If FF8 and FF12 are the worst games. How come then FF8 and FF12 both won game of the year the award. I like the battle system in FF12. It got rid of the annoying random encounters.
I love FFX12, the story was very captivating for me. I have CC Echoes on Wii and its literally unplayable, its windowed format made it too hard to see. FF1 reminds me of Pokémon XD. I want a Cait Sith game! So cute! I love FFX like hell, but FFx-2 was abit too weird and didnt feel like it was in the same universe but a parallel one. Still cool, but odd. I'm stuck on FF13, the levelling system is a bit drawn out for me. I'd rather play FF12 again, or go play FF Crystal Bearers which I absolutely love.
Dude seriously? 8 and 12. Yeah both those games have there problems, but I can say with confidence that more than a “small handful of players” liked both those games. Besides, at least they were willing to experiment and try new things as opposed to play it safe. This video is just another sign that WM is continuing to go downhill
No, I didn't enjoy this video. If Dirge of Cerberus was a cash grab, then this video is a click bait!! FF 1 ? Really? The game that started the whole franchise is the worst? WTF? You did mention the time factor when it comes to a franchise that's been around for more than 36 years, so thank you very much for your consideration. It also proves that this list is rediculous because for a game to be labelled "the worst" it should be bad accross all generations, or even at the time of its release, not how it plays now!!
Who made that list exactly? 10-2,12 & 8? 😮 And I also enjoyed Dirge of Cerberus a lot back then. I was flashed seeing "Yuna" singing in 10-2. "Real Emotion" is one of my favorite songs until this day. ❤
Final Fantasy XII was fine, but the Zodiac Age version was far superior and I'm glad they brought that version over in the remaster. Also, forever Balthier and Fran.
What I don't get? Why none, and I mean NONE, of the videos criticizing Final Fantasy XIII poke fun at thirteen being an unlucky number. No "The number should've been a hint" or "And, if you're about to say "It's the number's fault, there's a great game underneath it", don't freakin' bother." Why IS that?
Did you actually enjoy any of these games? That’s awesome! We’d love to hear from you, so let us know in the comments below.

10 Chocobo Racing GP
9 Final Fantasy IV The After Years
8 Dirge of Cerberus Final Fantasy VII
7 Final Fantasy XIV 1.0
6 Final Fantasy All The Bravest
5 Final Fantasy Explorers
4 Final Fantasy Mystic Quest
3 Final Fantasy Dimensions
2 Final Fantasy The 4 Heroes of Light
1 Final Fantasy II
give ff2 a chance esp the pixel remaster ones hahahaha its my favorite game tied with ff9
I think mystic quest should have the number one slot
I've never even heard of most of these, besides chocobo racing and 2. Are the rest spinoffs
FFXII is one of the best JRPGs ever made.
said nobody ever
10 had a better story, better characters and turn based combat. It's clearly a much better game
@@fwef7445turn based combat doesn't make a game better are you kidding me, that's the laziest argument ever
FF8 has the best story, but you really got be into it and you get the most out of it
"Did you enjoy all these games? That's awesome! We'd love to hear from you, so let us know in the comments below"
Bro putting up his shield before starting a controversy ☠️
While I agree that Dirge of Cerberus belongs on this list but I do think you are incorrect about the character Vincent. Also Vincent and Yuffie werent meant to be optional characters, they were cut from the original game due to lack of time so with Dirge I could see where they thought it was a good idea to tell more of his story (along with fans of the character) but just wish it wasnt this game. I do hope they treat the character much better in Remake.
Remove 12 from this list, the people have spoken.
Final Fantasy 12 is the most well balance Final Fantasy main series games in term of combat, story, lores, and charaterization.
I feel like a lot of older Final Fantasy games can be really good, if you have the right port.
The comments defending 12 made me happy. So glad that I was one of the few people who loved it. Sure, it's not perfect and kinda Star Wars-ish but it's still good imo.
Wow! I loved Final Fantasy 8 one of my favorites in the whole series
12 was ok i guess... 8 was phenomenal 13 was good dirge of Cerberus was fantastic i dont understand this list
Mystic quest wasn't bad though, it was a bit basic but fun
Okay x-2 was not horrible.
The gameplay was fine and the story wasn't meant to be taken all that seriously
Play FF6 and you will regret liking X-2
What's going on in mojo plays? This list is unfair. The first final fantasy was on of the worst? Get real guys.
My opinion on this:
Final fantasy XII - difficult to get into for newcomers but 100% play it today with the speed boost.
Laguna was 10/10 and connected the dots wtf
Final fantasy 1 - yeah the grind was awful. Play it on pixel remaster or even the GBA
Final fantasy 2 - encounter rate was also terrible. I leveled up in the beginning for about 2 hours to have a smooth game but it was underwhelming. The emperor 10/10 glad he’s back in
Final fantasy DOC - played in HS 15 years ago my opinion is worthless but I remember having fun considering the controls didn’t age well I’m guessing.
VIII, not VII.
Don’t compare FFXV to FFXIII. You’re just jealous their characters aren’t whiny losers and blame each other for all kinds of stuff. Also, none of their characters are Ignis and thus the game is automatically worse
X-2 is a masterpiece
I think you meant turd
Don’t call yourself a real Final Fantasy fan. You need to play FF6.
@@benjaminli6088 i have and i loved it.
@@54raynor You didn’t play the first game, did you? Either that or you didn’t get what I said at all
@@topfranluis1 I doubt there is a NES game Ive played more than the original Final Fantasy cart.
Final Fantasy 1 is the best game ever of all time, it aged like the finest wine ever, escpecially the NES version!!!!
When a worst of list starts off with FFXII, you know it’s gonna be a BS list
12 is not terrible.
Neither was x-2
neither was viii
and neither was xiii
i think 13 was the worst
It’s my favorite.
There has never been a game before or after II with the same mechanics! Also the story was way ahead of its time
Plus the Pixel Remaster fixed a lot of the issues.
There’s nothing more embarrassing than a fanbase that blames everyone else for their game not being successful, because „waaaah waaaah, you just don’t understaaaaand it like we do“
final fantasy 13 was not a bad game it was really fun
I bet you also like walking down corridors
@@fwef7445 piss off it was one of the greatest ff games
I want whatever MojoPlays is smoking
Tbh I like FF XII
It's good step up from the traditional turn base rpg, still remember first time playing it on ps2
Yeah I know, by today's standards, FF XII combat is considered slow but for its time, it is a really a great style combat
13 was what introduced me into the Series so yeah im kind of offended
Well I first played FF1 and I don’t feel any kind of offended, that’s a you problem
@@topfranluis113 is corny but it's not bad though, the production values alone make it worth playing
@@leob4403 Is what you think
FFX-2 was a good game. You get it or you don’t.
The story is obviously not meant to be taken that seriously and the gameplay is great, most of this list makes no sense.
@@domx7zero157 I mean it was the perfect story to happen after defeating sin. Of course Yuna is going to have fun and go on some silly adventures
If FF8 and FF12 are the worst games. How come then FF8 and FF12 both won game of the year the award. I like the battle system in FF12. It got rid of the annoying random encounters.
Despite my issues with FFXII, FFVIII, & FFX-2, I found those games to be a lot of fun to play.
FFVIII and FFXII are two of the best games in the series.
I know WatchMojo makes bad content, but this is something else.
Lets all be real here. This is what the real title should be.
Top 10 Final Fantasy games that WM dislikes.
I actually liked Dissidia NT and still play it to this day
12 shouldn't be on this list at all. And where is Mystic Quest or All the Bravest???
They are so bad that we refuse to even acknowledge them in any capacity.
@@joshuabean7805mystic quest wasn't that bad
I have to disagree. 12 was a masterpiece of a story and gameplay was refreshing, imho.
You accidentally included FF8 in this list, which is secretly the best Final Fantasy.
Watch mojo do us all a favor and leave video games and anime alone.
X-2 and XIII ahead of FFII, Dirge of Cerberus, OG XIV, OG FFI and DFFNT? Wtf you guys smoking over there?
12 and 8 are my personal favorites.
do you also play with dog poop?
@@fwef7445 not really, I can understand why people don't like those particular entries but I enjoyed them very much so.
Final Fantasy: All The Bravest should be here and it should be number 1.
Dude seriously? 8 and 12. Yeah both those games have there problems, but I can say with confidence that more than a “small handful of players” liked both those games. Besides, at least they were willing to experiment and try new things as opposed to play it safe. This video is just another sign that WM is continuing to go downhill
I’m not a fan of Final Fantasy VIII
No, I didn't enjoy this video. If Dirge of Cerberus was a cash grab, then this video is a click bait!! FF 1 ? Really? The game that started the whole franchise is the worst? WTF? You did mention the time factor when it comes to a franchise that's been around for more than 36 years, so thank you very much for your consideration. It also proves that this list is rediculous because for a game to be labelled "the worst" it should be bad accross all generations, or even at the time of its release, not how it plays now!!
I dont know about you you but one of my guilty pleasures was final fantasy 12 and 8 was also good.
ohnoes... Final Fantasy X-2 was amazing, I had so much fun w/ that game! I rather that one much more than XII-3 (Lightning Returns)
Who made that list exactly? 10-2,12 & 8? 😮 And I also enjoyed Dirge of Cerberus a lot back then. I was flashed seeing "Yuna" singing in 10-2. "Real Emotion" is one of my favorite songs until this day. ❤
Dirge of Cerberus is an absolute banger/gem. I remember it being the first non turn based FF game I played and putting hours into it on ps2.
Final Fantasy XII was fine, but the Zodiac Age version was far superior and I'm glad they brought that version over in the remaster.
Also, forever Balthier and Fran.
And I feel bad about Dissidia FF NT because I enjoyed the game play, but I wished the storyline mode were stronger.
12 is not one of the worst...
Please. FFXII and FFVIII weren't THAT bad. Yeah sure, the grinding for spells was tedious, but if you look past that, the game was really good
Whatttt!!! Final Fantasy XII is on this list!!?!????
