- I bought a 1969 Chevy Van off Facebook Marketplace for $800. It's been off the road for 35 years. In this video I repair the massive dent in the front and a rusted out pillar.

You have much better results with your flux core welder than I ever have had. I hope you will do a stand-alone video on your welder setup and your welding technique.
The fact that you put the time into doing the job right instead of putting an inch of bondo in it is commendable, excellent work looks fantastic.
Thanks
Thanks for these videos. We learn so much. The biggest thing I take from your videos is how you break it down into small easy steps. Restoring a car is overwhelming but you’ve got it down to a science. Completing small tasks adds up to a lot over time. I think this is why people have projects sitting in their garage for years. It’s just too overwhelming. But if they did an hour here and a task there it’ll add up and get done!
exactly!
That dent puller tool is pretty nice, it beats drilling holes to pull out the metal, and filling them with bondo.
It's nice
Nice ruff in, real good from what you started with.
I think that van would look cool in a big flake yellow and creagers. Love seeing you work on her. She would be good for power tour. Plenty of room for Nikki.
Looking good Lee..thanks for taking us along
Thanks
I’m enjoying the van build , I know it’s not your favorite but I like it
Thanks
I watched this video last night and ordered the Avapow jumpstarter since I needed a second one. There was a 50 dollar coupon on Amazon so it was right at 100. It was on my porch when I woke up! It comes in a nice case and was fully charged.
cool!
Made fast work of that front end .. You shine at body work that’s for sure .
Thanks
You are an absolute artist! Keep doing what you're doing!
Thanks
Clunkers and Classics on a Sunday, Great surprise.. Good job on the nose of the van Lee
Thanks. Surprised me as well, supposed to be tomorrow..lol
Love these vintage vans... glad to see it's getting saved. Fine job.
Thanks
😊 van looking great love your videos keep them coming sir
Thanks
Nice job on the nose so far👍👍
Thanks
Your doing an awesome job
Thanks
Lee , your doing an excellent job . Keep on brother !
Thanks
Looking good 👍...when you were checking the underneath and seen the heater hose and remembered how much they were!!! That's terrible 😮 price Goughing
I'm sure that van will be very nice when you get finished with it. Good plan Lee👍💯👊
Thanks
The grill would look good painted silver, great job on that front, wish I had one of those spot wielder dent pullers years ago never did like to dill holes to pull dents.
I was curious about the availability of some of the van parts you mentioned that you needed. Lucky you! Looks like the side markers and tail light lenses are out there. So is the windshield, which I figured it would be.
The Vevor puller came to the rescue and pulled that front end out real nice. You got that tool mastered I think.
The rust repair on the pillar should work just fine. I fixed the pillar on both sides of my 73 Dodge too. It was rotted through in a small spot up high on both pillars. The front end looks nice now!
Thanks
I love the van …. It’s so cool
Thanks
Thanks.
Carter’s Auto Restyling would have cut the entire front end off and banged on it for hours. I like the way you do it. Get it close and getter done and move on to something else. Front end looks a thousand times better. Great job!
Thanks
You could do body work in the dark Lee! Oh wait you did👍💯🔥
Crazy you can find the weather stripping for it
I need that nova yup yup
You need to buy it quick, price is going up.
Like ur work I'm learning more as I watch brother.
Hey Lee, I know we are a ways apart from being ready to painting, but when the time comes i think a 2 tone white on the top and a lime green on the bottom would look great on this van.
🏁 Lee awesome job on the van!! 🇺🇲🏁🏁🏁😎🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁
Thanks
Looks good Lee.
Thanks
Looks good, keep up the good work 👍
Thanks
Awesome awesomeness lee
Thanks
looking good lee
Thanks
Getting all the wavy gravies out of the mystery machine is gonna take some time !😅
No end to your talent learning a lot i love the Ford Econoline but very rare here in Australia the Chevy or Bedford vans popular here
Thanks
You do some good work! 💪🏾🐐
Thanks
Too bad those mustaches under the bowtie were erased...
Great body work!
Thanks. That's a bull decal.
That dent puller sure is pretty damn useful. It would have been a lot tougher without that. The last video i belive i did see a little rust through in front of the passenger wheel house but, that's a whole other can of worms. That rust in the pillar looks way gooder now.
There's a few holes in the floor I'll get to later
@@clunkersandclassics Right. The wiring is probably more important on that one.
I really need to pull my transmission, can I come over and see what it's like to do it on a concrete floor with a roof, last time I did it, it was in my dirt and gravel driveway 😂, my only envy in life, people with garages, work shops, I didn't mind it when I was young, they say hard work and suffering builds character, I guess I'm dripping with it 😎
use a thick piece of plywood to scoot the transmission around on.
Looking awesome hellyeah
Thanks
@@clunkersandclassics What cars are for sale and prices I'm a poor Kentucky feller looking to restore a couple for family?
@@JohnRolin next video
@@clunkersandclassics that's awesome brother
Lee, you have a garage, clean one bay and put it inside. Fix the whole windshield
I like working outside
I have to wonder if vinegar would take off the white haze that surrounds the windshield. The turn signal lenses and the side marker lights may be used on may different GM trucks and vans. I’m sure GM would’ve used what’s already in the parts bin.
it's the plastic in between the glass, so won't come off.
@@clunkersandclassics That’s too bad, the body work is coming along nicely, the dent puller really works well.
Hey Lee. Just wanted to let you know that the van is becoming a boogie van. Awesome work. Just wondering how much for the black Aspen. Give belly rubs to Nikki for me.
Thanks. Aspen is not for sale.
You have one of those hydraulic spreaders you hand pump don’t ya. That would push that front end out before you go pulling it w/ a slide don’t ya. Thought I remember you using it once.
Yes. I could have
Be cool to see ya skills on a boogie van @coldwarmotors style!
Great body work tutorial.so.....do you think silver....lol.peace
Thanks
👍👍👍
There are videos of Pakistani people on RUclips refurbing those old copper radiators and w/ your skills I know you could do it after watching the process ..
I'm upgrading to an aluminum one.
ROOBY ROOBY ROOOOO!!!!
Be better off aftermarket aluminum rad what cat name old rag 😂
Just installed one. Next video.
Looking good Lee.
Are there radiator repair shops anymore or is that a thing of the past?
I’m guessing a new windshield is a fantasy?
It'd be cheaper to buy an upgraded aluminum one than it would be to pay someone to fix it. Not sure on the windshield, I'm guessing they make them.
You do good work but you talking to much for me like l said you me I talk to much in t.n
