A friend of mine told me to not skip the ending of episode 49 specifically, while I usually always skip the endings. So, when I was watching aot around midnight and just finished episode 49, I remembered what my friend told me and decided to watch the full ending. I’m really into horror and stuff but these flashing, disturbing images combined with those cut-off, horrifying screams really touched a nerve. This alone would’ve been enough to make it rather difficult to sleep, but things got really weird after this. I was watching aot on my tablet in bed, when all of a sudden my new pc boots up all on its own, making weird noises and whirring sounds. I was fucking petrified. I didn’t dare to get up for a while, but eventually did anyway to turn my pc off. I didn’t sleep at all that night. The timing of me watching this ending followed by my pc booting up moments later just felt too perfect for it to be a mere coincidence.
Turns out, it was a coincidence. My new pc had some weird setting that allowed it to boot up by itself around midnight if there were any updates available. Didn’t even know that was a thing but it definitely gave me a good fright
This is why AOT is a great horror show, everyone got scared after that

@vavqnok473 it's like foreshadowing inside foreshadowing. Not only does it show a small clip from a scene that comes later in the story, but it also alludes to how Eren is eventually able to see the future with the Attack Titan/Founding Titan

this was genuinely one of the best things i have experienced for any media i have consumed--like the level of fear i got for a 4th wall break has never been this intense and i still can't get over it. i remember i was just letting the ending play while i went to scroll on my phone for a minute or 2, and then all of a sudden i heard the glitching and thought there was something wrong with my tv, so i glanced up and the levi part played, and for a split second any sort of logical rationale left my brain and i thought "holy shit every aot character is sentient and they are resentful of me for watching them suffer", because it went back to normal for a split second and i thought what had just happened wasn't supposed to happen. i thought i had witnessed something i wasn't supposed to until my small pea brain finally began to comprehend and was like "Oh. this is an intentional glitched out version of the ending" once all the distorted sounds and visuals began. anyway, i don't know why i wrote an entire essay about this HELP i just needed to try to accurately describe my chaotic feelings during when this happened and i am so thankful i went into it blind bc that was the biggest scare of my life!!!!!!!!

We watched the anime with the whole family, the series ended and we started discussing all sorts of moments from the anime, it was the first time we decided not to switch the ending. Then the noise started abruptly. Everyone looked at the TV screen. The ending continued for a second and we thought that it seemed to us. But then this glitch started again. We looked at the screen and felt just a hard fear, I heard my sister start to pray (we are Muslims, so we thought it was djinn and all sorts of paranormal stuff). Everyone sat in silence, all pale. And then the ending continues. We were silent for probably another 2 minutes before asking each other what happened. I wouldn't want to relive such an experience again.

The fact that Aot puts stuff that happens in future in its endings are just terrifying to me like the way to make it very historic the way they add music that makes feel chills down your spine like anyone remembers s2 ED it was horrific
And the fact they might do it in season 4 who knows if they will but if they do it’ll definitely include the paths since it was shown in the ending either way so it’ll definitely freak most of us out to show the second part of the season

My mate was streaming AOT on Discord, he went to get takeaway while this episode was playing. We always skipped the endings to watch the series faster, but because he wasn't there, it auto played. He came back just as the ending was playing, I remember him freaking out because of it. We discovered this ending purely by accident, but it was so funny so hear him freak out.
Man i was binge watching all of season 2 and 3 in a day and I only found out about this ending because my friend was telling me all about this right before the episode 5 of season 4 part 2. I wish I could go back and experience what it would be like to see that scene without context of season 3 part 2. So instead I'm gonna make my mom watch everything with me so I can see how she reacts.

Literally, i was on my computer typing in the thoughts for this season when this showed up and I legit was SHOOK. I literally did not expect that like holy shit.
I never liked to skip anime endings or openings, but everyone used to told me it was a waste of time, so in this particular season I started doing that, but for no apparent reason I didn´t skipped this one, I don´t know why, of all the episodes this one I didn´t AND IT WAS AMAZING, I want to forget it just to be able to feel the same things agaaaain.
I thought watching this more would help me process but I'm watching it on 0.25 speed trying to figure it out and it's just scaring me more
I now have 4.5 A5 pages of notes and I'm no closer to getting this

I can’t believe this was 5 years ago! This blew my mind too and I went to work the next day and couldn’t stop talking about it. For some reason, those faces on Eren & Mikasa told me immediately that something AWFUL had happened to someone, and my guess was it was gonna be Armin. Nothing else could make Eren or Mikasa THAT upset. Big sad.

@@BandenTCY nah, i only watch the anime and not taking the manga because i wanna watch it like a new experience, you dont know what the fuck is happening nor what the fuck is gonna happen next, and then the reveal comes everything just fall into places, the emotions are pure raw, i just gotta be patient and wait for the anime to realese, and boom worth it

Idk why i decided to watch the ending that time, probs bc it was the end of the season and when this popped on it actually scared the shoot out of me, DAMN they know how to do this stuff
