The final screen saying ‘The End’ instead of ‘To Be Continued…’ after 10 years is still gut-wrenching

I love how the boy at the end entered the tree like Ymir. The cycle continues.
Yeah, but now they can blow up titans to kingdom come
@WhiteTree97 who knows? It could just be that all sides are as destroyed as this city. Then its not a given
@@WhiteTree97I’d bet that scene takes place in a post M.A.D aot world so the missiles and bombs are either unusable(too old), destroyed, or nobody knows how to use the remaining usable ones.
Was not the origin of all life centipede killed?
@kevinhernandezarango5005 No. I don't think it can be killed. Ymir realised that you can still love someone and kill them. Wich is what she did she killed her obedience to the King she served. Then the titans where no more as Ymir stopped existing
This scene makes me cry, even eren, a man who changed the world was probably forgotten 20000 years later

@@gameoholic1994 the gravestone also looks forgotten, it was probably left alone after eren's friends died
@@Zvxers7Mikasa and the others left it that way so nobody on the Island could never find him. Mikasa just wants him to rest in peace. So the others kept it a secret for themselves after they all passed away peacefully on the island.
pretty sure he was and gonna be hated for centuries...
Not by the eldians he was their savior and greatest hero armin even said that as envoys they were gonna catch flak for supposively killing Eren a most celebrated man and betraying the island
What's sad is that by the time the boy and the dog find the tree again, thousands of years have passed. The world evolved and ended, and all of the characters we've seen are long gone. By modern day in this universe, Attack on Titan would have been seen as a story rather than a real life event.

Then again, we don't know if that's the entire world. For all we know, it could be just Paradis Island alone. Or Shiganshina alone.

Idk why people are so hung up on this message like it's not the most generic, obvious message ever. AOT is freedom story more than anything, but the ending just forgets that, makes Eren a slave, and makes the "history repeats" the main theme.

I feel like most people don't realize that the boy entering the tree at the end is NOT repeating the way Ymir entered the tree 2000 years ago. Ymir entered out of fear. The boy entered out of curiosity. AOT's ending isn't as pessimistic to suggest that humanity will always go to war no matter what, but rejects the idea that an idealistic solution like Eren's Rumbling or Zeke's euthanization plan or Marley's war will end all wars. Wars and violence are bound to happen again, but small changes in attitudes over time can lead to lasting change, not an immediate idealistic solution.
We not gonna talk about how Ymir loved king Fritz?!?
It makes no sense to me ik it’s un related but still
Finally someone with brains. The ending is hopeful not hopeless. History will repeat but as long as we try and change OUR world and not THE world we can all make a difference
yeah completely agree. Although many humans still go rampage out of fear from the power they don't even try to understand, some humans like Armin, Hanji or even the greedy woman like Kiyomi Azumabito will always see an opportunity to use it for development and progression. Technology in Ymir and Eren age evolve alot because of titan power. Who know maybe this time we could see the next level of civilization. Ofcourse, war will never be gone for good but that never stop human's greed for a better world.
The final lyrics of Linked Horizon's "二千年... 若しくは... 二万年後の君へ" - the song that was written for the ending - echo this exact sentiment. It repeats the idea of having to leave the forest, no matter how long it takes or how many times the way is lost; how the earth will heal and life will return, even on scorched fields, but it will remember, and we have to be willing to listen, and understand, so that we can find a way out.
Everything about Attack on Titan's ending so perfectly encapsulates the dual nature of our reality: the conflicts and violence that have happened, and are happening, and will happen, but the hope that some day, painstaking as it may be, things will change. That what was the source of fear will be the source of curiosity and, just maybe, a true desire to understand. It's bittersweet, but it's also comforting.

It became a social darwinist evolution. The battle of who takes over and who has the power to control one’s country is how I view it as.

I wonder, even after all, that Paradis made a Empire, the natioanlists who helped Eren declared themselfs Empire (in a way, proving Marley and the entire world point). Most likely, with the world destroyed, they made a Empire, maybe even having colonies on mainland, but with the decades, years, centuries and the developement of the world, like all Empires, they fell. And the world destroyed them. Most likely they would be (and rightfully so) the world most hated nation/people for Thousand years. I think the bombing happens 2000 years later, in a time that Eren and the Rumbling have a Myth status.
Like us, the series show what you just said, humanity, will always be in conflict.

2:25 Mikasa's death kinda tells that pretty much most of the cast have passed away(if not all of them) and I also like how it shows Shiganshina from afar with the sad music also contributing it helps set the tone that everyone we spent 10 years with is gone but they left a world that will be happy with no titans...only temporarily though
As the song is named, the young boy probably lives around 20000 years after the events of the show, where humanity destroyed itself and humans returned back to their roots. You can see how the boy is even clothed.
Its interesting because in a modern world, titans would have been useless because you could bomb them out of existence but in 20k years they could be important again as a war tool.

The blue ray version was more amazing. What a difference between the TV version. They did add some extra things in the credit scene we did see Mikasa was at Eren’s grave when it was snowing. Then as the time speeds up a bit we did see people walking by the tree and then later we did see Mikasa passed away peacefully. After she was gone along with the others time speed up again and we seen a lot more people and extra stuff that was added to the far future. We actually seen flying cars this time. And when the city was actually in the war zone. I was like whoa?! They made it more realistic than the TV version did more intense. Then at the end the missiles came down and became more dangerous and more deadly than it did. At the end was more cooler. When the boy goes into the tree... does that mean the Titan powers will come back? I need an answer to this.
"Peace settled on the world. But it would be a fleeting peace. For the great sacrifice was in vain. The end to one war did not signal an end to all wars. Old resentments, ancient squabbles re-emerged. History began its terrible repetition and once again, man fought man. Like a virus, war was always lurking inside you, no matter how hard you tried to suppress it. It just fought harder to get out. It always got out."
Halo Legends
This is a Paradox of our existence that we cannot escape from.
Even if eren completed the rumbling, conflict would still continue. This was 200-300 years after the events of the series. It was not retaliation. It could have even been a civil war. All we know is that conflict cant be prevented entirely. "Mankind will stop fighting when there are less than 2 people" -pyxis
Nobody disagrees with this, even Eren didn't think this way. When Eren says "end the cycle of hatred" he is specifically referring to the hatred between the world and Eldians, which the Rumbling would have solved, but of course that does not equate to "world peace" and conflict would obviously arise again.

A lot of people hate this ending and would've prefered that Eren destroyed humanity outside of the walls without realizing that regardless of anything that he would've done, this was humanity's fate even if Paradis were the only ones still alive
It is our sad reality, as humans, we love, but we also hate, and like the show said all the way back in season one, war will never end, not until there's only one human left standing in the world
I like how we don't get full context as to why Paradis was destroyed thousands of years later, it's pretty much Isayama's way of telling the audience that it was the result of another conflict between humans, and the fact that by the end of the story there's a kid walking to Eren's tree means that it got solved and eventually, the cycle of peace started again (while Paradis got left behind as a memory)
Idc what anyone says but this, in context of the story was a great ending, the way we got to this point could've been handled better but this is how AOT should've always ended regardless of anything
I don't even doubt that Eren could have managed to reach world peace if he wanted to. He saw the paths. He simply didn't care about that. He chose the best outcome for his friends, that is all he cared about. The death of millions during the rumbling and a war in a distant future long after his friends death didn't matter to him.

For me it's the best! And not even among anime, but among all art forms. No movie, book, series, other anime, or cartoon has ever evoked such a storm of emotions in me. It's one in a billion. Such a successful fusion of the genius of Hajime Isayama, and the meticulous work of not one, but two studios responsible for the adaptation - this is a real miracle.
you cannot deny how amazing this show is-the story, character development, and animation. it is so intricate. and it tells the audience a story about life itself. As time goes by, there is so much pain and chaos, but through it all, there is peace and tranquility. everything around you change, and in the end, everyone has the same dreadful fate of death at the end of their journey in life. But since humans are greedy and they want the same goal, there is always violent upbringings, constant struggles, constant war and battles. Through it all, even if many sacrificed their own lives, there will be many who don't care and search for bloodlust to power and fame, while there are many who seek to assist, lift people up and inspire them to do better. This show is so amazing, I am rewatching this series from the beginning, Thank you Mr. Hajime Isayama for this spectacular series.

@@UmQasaann buddy I remember you! You have been saying this for months jeez get over it. Fine if you have an opinion say it idc. At least don't force it on others and have some decency. now you have literally become a spammer and you are really annoying.
@@UmQasaannit's hard to make people see the truth, they are too invested personally in the story to accept how bad the ending was
@@UmQasaann bruh if you think that Eren exterminating the world will keep Paradis at peace forever you have not picked up a history book in your life. It will solve the centuries-old conflict about Eldians' sins, but it will never stop conflicts between humans. That's the whole point of the show. It's human nature to fight against each other. It happened to Eldian empire even after conquering the world as they started fighting among themselves. And it will happen again.
Titans powers did cease to exist. Whatever power that the boy at the end produces will most likely be very different from Ymir's Titan power, as her power is a product of hatred and fear. By the way, Eren exterminating the world will not erase hallucigenia from existence either.
Paradis being nuked might not have anything to do with the ancient Eldia vs world conflict at all.
The idea that exterminating the out-group will lead to utopia forever is ludicrous and clearly rejected by history.
The boy entering the tree is the start of AOT shippuden
That'd be interesting if that was historia's decendent
One of the best ending in the entire film history.. 💓

2:44 as a german, this was just terrifying
What is the song name or what its about?
If you zoom in really close at 2:33 , you will see that Mikasa has a silver ring on her finger. It seems she did move on…
In manga there was no ring no married couples in aot wears ring neither in Marley nor in paradise. Mikasa mother eren mother Zeke mother historia mother historia Reiner mother no wears ring.
In official guidebook Armin voice actor mentioned that Mikasa scarf represent engagement ring for eremika
She definitely didnt fully move on since she still wears the scarf and was burried next to eren, but it is possible that she still found another dude (most likely jean). Doesnt mean she fully moved on tho

4:22 - I've said this in various other videos but when the songs starts to fade and we only have the children singing while fading out is both haunting and beautiful.
We the audience know what might lie in store for this kid. And the possibility of what is to come.. the cycle always repeats unfortunately. Such a fantastic ending.
The death of everyone is so saddening but the happy ending for the eldians still makes me happy. The wars that start again despite eren’s hard work was just so sad. But the way humankind is portrayed is so true as well. I absolutely loved Attack on Titan and am sad to see it go.
Shinzou wo sasageyo!
20% of humanity nuked Paradis destroyed for bloody revenge after the Alliance sabotaged the Rumbling and the power of titans have not disappeared.

You can't fight the future, But you can change it
This is a really good quote.
War doesn't end and never changes
Women: Oh my gosh he didnt cry during Titanic, do guys even have feelings?
Men:
Titans are not the problem but actually humans themselves
In Netflix, they took down the credit scene.. Thank you for uploading in youtube cuz my friend wanted to see the credit scene..
Yea literally it's the most bs decision that Netflix/AoT's publisher media could request
that's why netflix will always be inferior
You know what’s frustrating ? According to the fermi paradox this is the most likely future that awaits us…
The great filter.
everything we have seen in AOT has become...LEGENDS
i get goosebumps every time i watch it, Aot's philosophy is something completely different
3:35 "Furthermore, I consider Paradise Island to need to be destroyed" ~ Somebody 2000 years into the future
then it all repeats itself when that came up in my head i was crying like a baby lol and when mikasa was next to erens grave and she was having flashbacks i was crying a little too when i remembered all the seasons of attack on titan all that fighting was for nothing
History repeats itself

They gave us such a beautiful ending
some people want AoT happy ending, HAPPY ENDING??? What are u thinking, this is AoT B*tch not a Disney Movie. This ending perfectly fit fo AoT. Since I was reading the manga, I really like this ending. Masterpiece 10/10.
Eren died a virgin and accomplished nothing! Lmfao 🤣😂😂
@@UmQasaannHe accomplished what he set out to do. That was for his friends to live a long peaceful life. They did. Sounds like a great accomplishment to me.
@@myadversariescry7400Eren failed to destroy humanity, fail to protect Paradis from getting genocided by outside world and titans are back. Eren Yogurt died for nothing and didn't accomplished a damn thing!
@purpleblastoise His friends lived their life without interference and died of old age. That was his only goal. And he accomplished that. If you think otherwise you didn't understand the story. 👍
@@myadversariescry7400 Read better manga watch better anime they are out there watch Fullmetal Alchemist and Gurren Lagann.
"The End" was emotional
Todavía no supero que se haya terminado esta historia...
This ending looked cool to begin with but I have to say they threw in some really great visual effects especially with the warring/bombing of Paradis, the added brightness and screen shaking adds so much weight to it
Mikasa deserves to be Happy
And she lived the rest of her life in peace until she met her end and finally reunited with everyone else including Eren on the other side. She will forever be one of my favourites 😭😭😭
Even without titans war will always flourish…
I don’t think humanity forgot about Eren and everything that happened, considering the world outside of the island was relatively advanced so they could keep history intact. I think that AOT wanted to show that despite what happened humanity simply moved on back to its basics. For example, the black plague that attacked Europe and wiped out 2/3 of its population didn’t stop Europe from starting 2 world wars.
Point being that a near extinction event won’t necessarily bring humanity together
The outside world nuked Paradis for bloody revenge after the Rumbling failed to destroy 20% of humanity.
Their going to make the Eldians deaths slow and painful as possible.
他の人の見解なんだけど、
攻撃が来る方角が、"島の内側"からなんだ。
パラディ島は、中規模の国家であれば数カ国が入りそうなほどに広いので、
パラディ島内で戦争が起きている可能性がある。
@@UmQasaann
I don't think so. I think they made Shiganshina cyberpunk compared to the manga which looked like Paradis was getting bombed in the equivalent of pre 2000s to show how far away the conflict is and how it might not even be related to revenge.

Even now I come here almost everyday watch this ending credits knowkng this is the last time we will ever see such a master piece
the ending basically tells us that the Titans were never the problem, they were merely a tool/scapegoat. Humans were always the problem and are destined to repeat the cycle of hatred and violence until the very last human remains
The most shocking thing in all of this:
Not the fact that the setting turned into something from Mass Effect.
It’s that there was a Prius
