What has become very critical for me over the past years is to be able to turn on and off the light on the fly in an easy way. The more I do this, the more I feel that it is like a pause in a musical phrase. It's a gap that let's the subject breathe. None of my flashlights are efficient enough for what I want to do so we started recently to do some butchery. The P10v2 is the best flashlight to go from strobe to continuous, but the remote is stiff and painful. Klarus has a better remote, but the flashlight has some issues that are driving me crazy. This is a mix of both. By using audio cables/connectors, we're using the left and right channel to go either in strobe or continuous light. Oh, and because of that, I can now use any headphone extension to control my flashlight from further away. Cool!
Now here's the most noisy, the most annoying light-painting tool I've ever used. I had to excuse myself my time for the chaotic storm it created, as much for the sound and for the end result. I'm not too sure if I'm going to continue to use this one, but that made us laugh just enough to worth it I guess. Now I have to find a way to make myself totally disappear. I don't want to have a ninja baseball player in these shots!
About the tool itself, this is a super long 5mm fiber optic cable glued to a 3d printed holder for the flashlight, and attached to a pole so I can be further away from the light.

and Guillermo Castellanos with the gimbal stabilizer

I've got to hack my remote on my Nitecore! A meter long remote would be super handy.

Maybe try to build some kind of platform or chasis, above your model to sit there nad use that led whip or tubes with extender? You will be unvisible or if you have very looong extender and try to walk around cameras in xiangle (could be way too far away to use such a long extender). Maybe some kind of platform to paint from above the model will be good?
