Our small tubes: lightpainting....
This story is about stacking small tubes, and it is much longer than expected. The initial idea was only about featuring an amazing trick by a light-painting artist from India. But he got us hooked, and suddenly, that became a solid project for us.
We got back to the studio after having zoomed in the lenses to 35mm. Yes, all of them, one by one. The idea was to get a better resolution for closer portraits, but also to use fewer small tubes, as the frame was tighter.
But also, as we started to talk about the project with friends, we started to receive very interesting images from them. Some were from a few months back, but some have been made as part of this project
Third day. We zoomed back to 18mm and went totally wild with 15 stacked tubes.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll go outdoors as the warm days are back in Montréal and for sure we’re going to stack a few small tubes by the lake.
To be continued
--- About the Tube Stories
We are Kim Henry and Eric Paré. We are a dancer/photographer duo making our way using a tube, a feather, and a flashlight. Everything we do is lit by hand, one frame at a time. Light-painting for us is a lifestyle, and this is what we share with our audience. The purpose of the Tube Stories is to bring a brighter and more colorful night to whoever is going to cross our path. Our work has been presented on the BBC, CNN, MTV, VICE, TEDx and much more.

Totally love the colour wave, so beautiful. ::)))
thanks Donna! It was semi random ... hehehe :P But we did make sure to avoid having 2 of the same color side by side. That was a minimum :D :) ;)
@@Ericpare I hopefully have a model, just need a venue, thank you for the inspiration ;)))))
I agree Donna the wave was my favourite
Love it brother... I am from meghalaya, Shillong. India. I got an inspiration from you that led me to do light painting
The beauty you create, using all the best ingredients, while constantly experimenting and evolving, is masterful. You two have such love for your craft... Wow. :)
thanks Mike ::)

Great stuff, always a pleasure to see you both work live, the small tubes really take affect, plus they do help when using 3 or more indoors
💓💓💓
After seeing this I have just ordered a set, as i do a lot of hill walking and camping, the full length tubes are too long to carry when out for several days :) :)

It is just awesome. Eric, where can we buy clear tubes to make large extenders?
hey Samuel! You can look online for clear T8 tubes and slice them OR you can get them from here: lightpainting.store/products/tube-extenders?variant=34722956673177 :)
@@Ericpare oh, I didn't see them on your store. My fault 😂
@@samuelcaulindelgado4077 oh it was not! I mean, the small ones where there, but the long one is new from this week. It took us a while to figure out a clean way to slice them. ::)))
@@Ericpare Ok. Are you going to make Zebra extenders?
@@samuelcaulindelgado4077 I don't think so. But... ruclips.net/video/0JlX-Fab-Lo/видео.html :::)
