I agree overdrive is awesome I remember when I went to overdrive everybody on all the forms told me all you're going to mess up your trailing well a year later and I'm here to tell you that none of that ever happened when over driven from the transmission it should engage sooner than over driven from the portals 2 awesome video man thanks for sharing
Hello, I think the right way is to get first tires with more grip...then putting the 11% in. It only makes a difference with grippy tires. Great subjects and always very well made videos...Thank You from Germany
Lovin the look of the ecto brother. Love how sleek they made the body for tighter fitting areas. Small amount of body rub but not to bad. Very informative, like that! See ya next time bro 😁💯💯🤙
@@RoadsideRC thanks Troy, Liz watched this video last night and we ordered one this morning. Should be here Friday. Can't wait to take it out on our course!!
@@hellorc7678 I did tires - that is a big help, of course. I swapped to the 12% overdrive as you see in this video, but really think it could use more. Hot Racing and KNK both offer a 25% overdrive gear set. Next, I am going to investigate some brass for the front and possibly the IFS system they offer. Move the stock shocks around also, that lowers the truck quickly and free!
Agree - I really do like OD. I am not sure if 5% is plenty, of if we really need more than +6% to really see a difference. According to feedback from the Element RC Facebook group, it appears most folks use aftermarket gears to get to 25%.
After a certain point of vertical incline the weight distribution is disproportionately on the rear end, making the front biased distribution preform as it did.. That's why test 1 seemed worse while 2&3 were much easier.
@@RoadsideRC I believe I put the gears in wrong spot which created a overdrive to the rear now I have striped the screws so will have to get some spare parts down the road
The ecto comes with slight overdrive in the front correct? I been wanting to put it in my trx or Capra but don’t know the first thing to do 🤷♂️ never done it.
It comes with 5%, and in this video I try swapping for the 12%. You can see in this video the overdrive I did on my SCX10iii - which would be the same as your Capra: ruclips.net/video/0nouTv0q37k/видео.html And here you can see where I did it to my TRX4: ruclips.net/video/gvWcI9hyuEM/видео.html I do highly recommend it. It helps a lot with turning radius and crawling over things.
I'm not agreeing with you on this one. I have the knightrunner with the 6% overdrive and it drives very good and have a nice and good turning radius. Love how it drives even though Im only driving trail. I also have a Utron without overdrive and i can clearly see and feel it's missing some turning radius compared to the knightrunner. So I want the 6% in it to. So you say 11-12% is better. There I think you a bit wrong at least in my opinion. See I have a Axial SCX 10 III with 12% in the front. It differently has a good turning radius I agree on that. But when it comes to trial I can see the front tire constantly is digging and the rear tire is constantly dragging like the handbrake is on. Is very annoying and the tires are being worn down way faster this way. This you will not see on a rc with only 6% So Yes good turning radius. And it helps a bit when crawling over stuff. But that's it. I would be very happy if there was a 6% for Axial.
Ciao! Scusami, ho fatto anch’io la stessa identica modifica, seguendo le istruzioni da manuale. Quando la metto sul supporto, con le ruote sollevate, quelle di dietro vanno un po’ a scatto. È normale? Grazie!

It all depends on how folks drive and where they drive. In my area, and with my driving - it helps a lot. Look at a lot of comp builds - those folks use 35%+ overdrive. These are the folks who spend HOURS AND HOURS finding ever last benefit they can. You think they would all run overdrive if it didn't help? Before you judge- give it a try yourself!

It really is a quality truck for sure.

I haven't had that experience.
