    Hi Craig, thank you for creating this video. Easy to follow, (very) pleasant to listen to and my car is happy as can be. Also, could you please start a career as voice actor narrating books? Your voice is incredibly soothing and clear.

    HI Craig, Just discovered your channel a few days ago, subscribed, and have been intermittently watching your videos. General comments applicable to all videos viewed: Length: always appropriate to subject. Content: excellent, and more than intelligently thought through. Choice and range of topics: also excellent and most useful. Content logic: shimmeringly aristotelean (that's good). Video mood: Marvelously calm and reassuring to the DIY driver worried about not having a car to drive to work on Monday morning. Presenter's voice: seductively erudite and posh (that's very good). Presenter attractiveness: superior. My compliments. Thanks so much. Will keep watching. Best to you.

      Sorry your comment is already 2 years old. He did mention, that some of the Auto Parts shops accept old oil for recycling. You don't get paid for it, but they accept the oil and send it on to a recyclers so you know you're saving the planet. (In New Zealand and Australia "Repco" and 'Supercheap Auto" are the 2 main chain stores for auto parts). Some Auto parts stores may have a large "dumpster" bin outside, but ask that only old automotive oils, in auto oil plastic containers are placed in the bin. I noticed one shop had no bin so went inside and asked. They said naughty people had been dumping rubbish in the bin so they keep it in the staff only area out back, but were happy for customers to bring in their containers of used oil and hand them in at the front counter, for the staff to put in the recycling bin. Some mechanics workshops in the old days had a 44 gallon/200 litre/55 US gal drum in a corner with a funnel, to dump old oil into. Those drums would later go to recycling.

    Always fit a new crush washer to your sump plug before you screw it in.

    • @KiwiCatherineJemma
      @KiwiCatherineJemma Год назад

      I know the textbooks say that, but for the first 30 years of my life, doing oil changes, I was never able to obtain a spare washer. I just wipe the old one with a cloth and re-use it. Has never ever been a problem. If people are able to get new washers where they live, then for sure, yeah, go for it.

    which engine oil is recommended for yaris ?

    • @tardeliesmagic
      @tardeliesmagic Год назад

      Use decent/good oil 5w-30 & none of the cheap stuff, do you do less than 5,000m a year? Then use semi syn,more than that use good quality full syn. I do 3,500m a year on 5w30 Magnatec,it decent good oil....unless you got a banger you'll be getting rid off. Keep any receipts for service records,it'll be good for the future owner to see.
