When the video started I thought "Oh Damn, is he about to sample then process of making Coffee?!" But this was a helpful video, I haven't had the chance to finish my sample pack I started a while ago, when I find some time I'm definitely going to.
Thanks for this video. It doesn't teach me though how do you sell it. I understand this free pack lands onto your webpage and is avialable from there. What happens to your payed packs?
When it comes to selling stuff: websites like gumroad or sellfy actually offer free plans for you. You just don't get the "pro" features although for a start the "free plans" are totally fine. 👍🏻✌🏻 They do take a Lil % though. (that's the catch for having the free account)
Another helpfull video..and intersting too! But one question (and I know it's kinda strange) , but when you record those samples , do you ever have the problem when all your samples (or maybe some of them) are the same as the other packs you created? Because I remember that I downloaded few few free packs , and some of them , was too much similar or a copy of another pack I've already had , so I simply delete that , when I see a similar pack
Yo! Well, in some cases I suppose that just comes down to the pack you're making. If you're making another like 'trap drum kit' there's realistically only so many variations on that sound aside layering with foley and such. So, I just try to ensure that whatever I'm doing ends up unique and by pushing myself to get more creative with each pack and the processing used to create the end result.
I see so many services like bandzoogle, selfy, payhip, gumroad, tindie, etc does it matter which route you go with? Should one be selling via multiple platforms?
I used a service called Bandzoogle - highly recommend them! In a previous life, I used to work there as well haha. If you check out their tutorials, you may recognize a familiar voice!
Yo! Canva is actually entirely free to use and doesn't require anything other than an email. Beyond that you could use Photoshop which costs around $20/month I believe. You could also use a free alternative like GIMP as well for a bit more fine control than what Canva offers.
Yo! Well, you could reach out to a company to distribute your packs or sell directly on services like Gumroad, or create a website with a service like Bandzoogle to sell your samples.
Producers sell their packs on services like gumroad, sellfy, shopify etc. Or their own website or Beat selling website like Beat stars or traktrain etc
Thank you for the super helpful video. One question: Do you ever do anything to make software specific packs like for Native Instruments or Structure, Steven Slate, etc?
Yo! Glad it was helpful! And yeah totally! I've done quite a few soundbanks for a variety of things but the majority of them have been packs for Serum for various companies as a contractor. Serum is generally the one you'll work most with as it's pretty much the most popular thing ever, so it's good to dust it off and get very familiar with it if you want to get into soundpack design!
@@VenusTheory Much thanks for the tips. One last one if I may: I recently read about protecting sample libs with iLok. Much experience with that and is it worth the trouble?
Hi there! We are looking for sound designers, especially in the genres Techno, House, Tech-house, Trance, EDM,... If you are willing to sell your sample packs , MIDI melodies,... Don't hesitate to contact us!
YO CAM! You know whats driving me CRAY! THE PAN LAW in these Daws. When making a DRUM SAMPLE "0db".. how are you going about this? When making the drum sample inside Studio One and then importing it goes -3db quieter?? Have you experienced this? I'm trying to have my Mono Samples coming in at 0db.
If you're playing your exported samples via a sampler in a daw, make sure that the velocity is all the way maxxed out, otherwise you won't get the full volume of your exported sample.
Unfortunately it's just part of doing business. I just place a small text file in all my packs encouraging those who do steal it to support me in the future if they're financially able to and enjoy the packs.
What the hell is this audio quality? Incredible 😳
That’s what happens when you know how to use EQ editing.
@@rayaveonline2274 True! But... he has a deep voice.

Haha thanks dude
Same here, that's the first thing I said when I heard him speak.

Haha maybe I could do a video of that. Or just make a 'morning brew' sample pack haha. Glad the video was helpful!

A very important question. How did you create your own website. I mean, the design and all that stuff??
I used a service called Bandzoogle - highly recommend them! In a previous life, I used to work there as well haha. If you check out their tutorials, you may recognize a familiar voice!
With normalize unfortunately you increase the noise of the sample. Can you please tell me what are you do for that?
Thanks a lot
When you’re talking about artwork, which subscription plans do you need to have for each platform?

Can u advice on selling with splice?
Those Ninja coffee makers are great aren't they?
How do you protect your samples before selling?
Where do you recommend to sell tho? Great video btw helped me a lot

Hope this is still relevant in 2024
how much do you pay for Canva a month?
do you have any tips by protecting my sample packs by getting torrented?

dude do you do voice-overs your amazing
I do from time to time haha.
Every comment is about his voice, podcast?
Is it possible to sell samples on different platforms at the same time?
Yo! As long as you don't have any kind of exclusive deal with a certain distributor, I don't see why that would be an issue.
Guys this is Google Robot voice
Your sample site build on bandzoogle??
Yep! Highly recommend them! And, if you watch some of their tutorial videos you may recognize a familiar voice haha.
@@VenusTheory i only dont like the url,but i guess if you make a sub gou get to change it right??
Have you got a contact microphone on your chest?
Just a built-in version of Waves R-Bass I guess.
But where to sell it for free?
Does anyone know how to make a sample pack
Is it just me or does he sound a lot like markiplier
Its not royalty free if you can't do what you want with it. You might as well sell it.
