🌄 Habitat ► www.orchestraltools.com/store/collections/habitat
Havent checkt out your other vids yet, but please! This was awesome dude, had a good laugh here and there and really learnd something 😁👌
Yes please!
Yes please! I like how you approached "modulation" through simple tips without the usual music theory nerdism man, very inspiring 🙏🏻
And this video footage composition format is great too
Yes, please. I find them very inspirational and unpretentious - like you're simply demonstrating 'you can do this, too'.
Definitely!!!
Edit: This video actually made me subscribe.
This video made me realize some extremely crucial things.
First of all - I absolutely adore how much you shit on Unison Audio for their marketing campaign, advertising basic utilities as game-changers. What I love the most though is the fact that you don't do it straight up - you use words and gestures that we instantenously recognize and link to them. Thank you for that.
Now to get a bit more personal - With these videos you simply re-ignite my love and passion to music making. You make it look so simple, and to top it all off, you rub my taste the right way with your creations. I cannot tell you how much your works inspire me. Thank you for that as well.
There are movies so good that they remind you why you love watching movies. You are the creator that reminds me why I love creating music.
I don't know what is scarier, how relevant your content is for me rn, or that RUclips recommended it... GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!!! (but seriously, thank you)
2:16 - sounds like an evil robot, could be sampled into a part of a cinematic soundtrack 😄
This whole vid is so incredibly emotive. You make it look so simple. I've been playing piano on and off since i was 11 (nearly 50, never had a teacher) and those little tricks you show us make me sound brilliant. Thanks!
1 - “Pro-Level” will never be not funny 😁
2 - As I recall, the Baltic Strings were sourced from the Estonian Philharmonic Orchestra (or one of that crowd), which has often been the definitive performance ensemble for Arvo Pärt’s compositions. Another guy who has made more with less 😉
3 - I’ve thinking a lot about arrangement in general for years to where I probably should write my own treatise on the subject, much like how Ravel and Schoenberg did. =]
It definitely made me feel a lot! Great video! Thank you!
This is gold, the content on your channel is so useful. Thank you.
I love these types of videos and this one in particular was really inspiring for me!
I saw your video yesterday, and I'm actually applying this method (the composition one) to a 5 chords composition I had, it's simply opening a whole lot of possibilities. Thank you very much.
I've just discovered this video, although I am a hardcore fan of your channel for many months now. Great illustration of how inventiveness paired with simplicity can create great music (in 40 minutes). :) More videos like this, please!
I appreciate your synthesis and concise explanations. Although not your focus, I think this is showing me a clearer definition of texture than i've been able to get from my music professors, just by example. Keep up the good work!
These slow piano and motivational moments hit different 3:50
Thank you again.
Yes, more videos like this.
To have some video foootage first to get some ideas is a great tip for me. Thank You 😎💚
Trying things are the clue to everything. Cool video as always.
I love this kind of content, Cam! Less GAS, more music! Cheers, buddy.
Done. I am inspired! Thanks for all that you do. Cheers
Love all of your content, Cam!!! Please keep dropping new content!
Thank you! I love your music and just came across your youtube page. Your videos have definitely inspired me to create more music. This video in particular is very helpful because I do not know music theory (I have always played by ear). Thank you for the tips!
Terrific video full of great and inspiring ideas. Love the side-chained reverb on the felt piano, and so much more. I’m late to your party but the vibes are great! Many thanks
Gorgeous work.
Great transformation techniques ! Possibilities are then …endless !!! 😲
Really inspiring video. Thnx for you work 🧡🔥
This is beautiful and your creative process is inspiring, thanks. The result would be the perfect score for some Scandinavian thriller intro
I like it, keeping it simple and let the music guide you
Great tutorial man!!!
Thanks!!
amazing! And very nice piano skills you got!
Epic! Thanks!
Congrats on reaching 100k, Cameron!
wow Orchestral Tools is amazing. And an awesome and entertaining video as always :)
love these videos
haha as soon as i see your new videos pop up in my suggestions, in my mind, i hear "howdy doodie buckaroonies"
Superb!
man ur piano skills are on point i luv that :D
Wauw im inspired!!
Nice man thanks!
Solid advice! Bravo! I use similar techniques.
Really inspiring!
You might like to try Soundpaint. It has a very intuitive way of building instruments with noises.
What a simple and game changing perspective, i love it! My floodgates are open fo sho😄
And the biggest lesson we can take from this is:
Learn piano.
Great video, as always!
I too will be getting more serious about learning piano.
Yeah, kinda wish to start now, as a guitar player.. Any good ressources VT recommends?
no man!!! is to learn composing according to the scene
Soundwise you won't find a better, more realistic, versatile and musical free piano plugin than OT P1ANO S. Just ask Google, it's easily found.
@@KRACHDUFE new jazz on yt is the goat for piano lessons, especially for guitarists :)
Much love cam!
That was really cool
Perfect.
Wow! That was really cool of Orchestral Tools to hook you up with Habitat and Tallinn. I've been drooling over Tallinn for a while...the price makes it more of a deliberate purchase tho. Habitat is total goose-bump fuel tho, isn't it? Sounds amazing, friend! Great video as always.
AS you aired the first MOPRH video, you mentioned you'd be posting more in the future. Given your talents as a teacher, I'd sure be trilled to see more Sensel Morph content! I took your advice, looked harder and landed a MORPH. Thus far, despite adjustments I make in the latest version Sensel APP, I cannot seem to hold a finger still enough to maintain a constant tone (piano overlay). In other words, it's like I've got my pitch bend wheel working overtime. Additionally, a gliss of say, a fifth, sounds like I've slid 4 octaves, along with few harmonics of the original patch sound as I arrive at the landing key. I've had a panic attack or two, wherein I second guessed myself for not buying a short seaboard. Thanks!
I just love what you did here - and always!
I was thinking - how about melodic "tracing". So, in addition to all of this wonderful advice - might you also trce the contour of some of the notes that evolve from the textures to create a melodic idea that floats throughout this score? (almost reverse engineering the melody). When listen to the final product I hear that melody. Something subtle but that can then be used as a device to further the narrative
I also understand that that is not always necessary if needed.
As I said - I so much enjoy your thoughts. Your music is quite sensitive.
majestic
the whole stacking up of keys and huge layers are in on a click metrenome or just feelin vibes watching moutains footage and playing recording
Ohhh your voice 😍
Funny, i just used one of your sine plugins today, the airport one. Thanks for sharing 🇩🇰
This is a great example of how music can create emotion while being 100% forgettable.
Dominik Eulberg is a genius. Definitely listen to his music.
8:17 Just commenting so i can listen to this for inspiration at some point... great vid btw
Yooooo. I was not expecting to hear about Colma in this video. I love that album so much.
Forever one of my favorites. Captain Eos Voyage, A Real Diamond In The Rough, and Electric Sea are also great - need to catch up on Buckethead someday but he has such an insane catalog anymore it's impossible to keep up haha.
more like this please
I nearly spit out my water at '... the rest is just jazz.'
"insignificant genitals" is my new favorite term! 🤣if i ever develop that into a track, I'll be sure to give you credit, lol
I feel more with point1 and 2, point3 didn’t work for me, probably because that many different timbres need more room/time than the short video had. By the way: thanks for adding better note visualizations / chord names👍. That helps following the theory.
I really like simple explanations without too much technical stuff. I am running Studio One Professional on a MacBook and wonder if there is a video player that could be layered on top of that to aid in the production of theme music. I'll have to investigate these Orchestral tools to see if it is Mac compatible. I'm relatively new to this software music production technique.
8:20 - *sudden goosebumps* I wish I had your ability to just spit out a musical idea instead of fumbling with a keyboard labeled with stickers and squinting at a chord diagram for hours to make a serviceable 10 seconds. I've been teaching myself ukulele for about a year and change and I can sort of intuit a mood on that but as far as I'm aware they haven't yet invented the MIDI uke lol.
I ned new glasses, I read that as 'Inuit'
SINE Player also have some beaautiful free libraries as well , btw I'll try to work on that I thought that music theory was so important that I had to learn some scales ecc. in order to achieve or put my music on another level but it's not so necessary as you already explained , thank you!
I often wonder if your arm cramps from holding that coffee so high in the air. Or, whatever it is you are drinking.
😂"... Just jass". Good one!
Oooof, I would voiceover that so hard in a fake British accent. Squatted truck=drone texture
JFC Cameron this is awesome
Glad you enjoyed it!
That mustache and beard is heading full El Cid a la Charlton Heston.
Beautiful playing and ideas, thank you. Can I please ask - which piano VST are you using?
Its all easy and cool if you can play piano so freely! Ah I need to exercise more :D Those pesky black keys arent friendly at all
😂 what a guy! Nice stuff! Thx 👌
Amadeus comes to mind when watching you play. As he's playing in front of the King, "That doesn't really fit. How about..."
I still had a lingering thought from the note salad at the beginning, and use the brighter notes to sound like icicles, a little lower in the mix with some reverb. Make it more ambient like it near enough to hear it, not close enough to see.
Buckethead is an artist on another level. I was wondering if you could suggest a pc vs apple workstation. I've used pc for years but wonder if I'm missing something on the other side by not using apple.
Nice video. I just viewed some modular synth stuff that might dovetail into what you’re suggesting quite well. Nice to be pushed by the algorithm, no?
thanks cameron
Wow.
I never knew that creating such evocative music/soundscapes was that simple!
This is a brilliant look into creating such music.
Thank you!
Are there some other great sound design channels you recommend? I need something to do in between your homework assignments!
Advanced pro-level stuff-I’m Mak from Flushvalve, and I only use pro-level chords! 😆
Butt chugging Coors light fucking killed me
the space between the notes, what isn't there, is a noted consideration in composition.
experientially, the space between the notes is inhabited by the listener.
my approach to composition is that, one doesn't know what that consists of. at least it leaves me more open ended about who i am as a listener :)
(i'd leave the piano more monolithic like teh mountains, a lot of that texture stuff could sit way back.. or dropped in favor of switching teh piano to teh more populated flowy for a passage)
"This guy" Dominik Eulberg is a major techno legend, for those unfamiliar. He is a pioneer when it comes to using samples of nature sounds in his music.
Sounds like the music that would play over a death scene in a movie.
The split screen effect with the blur at 1:30 that’s Final Cut Pro yeah?
Great video (as they all are)! What video software are you using here?
07:47 VERY BEAUTIFUL PLAYING, TRY SOME THE NEW EFX FROM ARTURIA IN PARALLEL CHAIN WOULD BE AMAZING!
The truck driving by part I had to watch like ten times cause it was just hilarious! That’s the face I make every time I’m trying to create some music and hear a bunch of crotch rocket motorcycles flying down the highway. So irritating!
So you made Skyrim scapes 😄. Its very beautiful no doubt.
Skyrimcore ⛰
If you didn't know Dominik Eulberg has made some of the most emotive, nature inspired house/techno music of the last 10+ years. Well worth a look.
I actually added a bit of his stuff to my playlist after checking out the library. Really like what I've heard so far!
I wish we were cafeteria friends in high school.
Try: G#m - F# - E - B using the fifth of the third chord to help voice the fourth.
Word up
Both had relevance. The first could have big soaring strings....the second Olafur Arnold's knocking on the door.....icy string tone droning behind, It's all good Cameron. And who the takes any notice of the music anyway except musical nerds?
In German and Dutch, the letters eu sounds like oy. World Chess Champion Max Euwe, is pronounced Oyway, or Oyvay.
Are you suggesting that you can play pro level chords without Unison Midi Pack?
If I had this when I was maybe 20 I'd probably be a billionaire right now
I know you don’t reply to comment. But if you happen to see mine, I would like to know what microphone 🎙 are you using? The audio sounds so crisp!
The voice of Ned Flander's! Sorry I couldn't resist 😃
You had me at “butt-chug some bud light to”
bucketheads melodic output is so poorly knows, while being so incredibly good!
I’m interested in using some video clips like these. Where did you get them?
These were all from Pexels! Great stock footage resource.
@@VenusTheory Thanks very much!
Buckethead is a monster.
