I just had one of these delivered and the door wouldn't close. That top hinge cover is tricky to get off but if you lift the back first then slide it forward it comes off easily. Good video. It's probably worth mentioning to be careful to avoid over-tightening the screws for the top hinge, particuarly when using a powered driver, as pr the video. Striping the threads in the holes causes bigger problems.
Our fridge has a freezer on top. The fridge door binds on the bottom just like yours. But the gap between the top hinge and the bottom hinge of the freezer is really small. It’s about an 1/8th of an inch. Is there any other way to sort out the problem. Glad I found your video 👍
Instead of installing washers, there is probably an upper and lower set of plastic cog mounts that the door glides on. A set costs $10 on Amazon. That's probably the correct part for most full size refrigerators. The fix takes a few minutes longer than this video but it's the same process. I hope this helps someone. It worked for me on a full size Kemnore refrigerator.
I have a Magic Chef mini freezer from Home Depot. I left the doors open to defrost while going on a trip. When i returned the doors wouldn't close. In my case just realigning the bottom hinge by loosening then tightening it until the door closes shut. No washers needed. Just lay the freezer on its side such that you have access to the hinges from above then loosen and realign and tighten the bolts until doors remain closed. For bigger refrigerator and freezers might be a challenge laying on its side but doable. I didnt realize until now but it appears that it wasnt aligned properly from the factory and wasnt shutting close tight to begin with.
If you don't have any washers that'll fit, you can use a 12 inch adjustable crescent wrench. Just make sure you read the last sentence before trying this. attach an adjustable wrench on the flat section of the bottom hinge bracket next to the hinge pin, then adjust the wrench until it's fully closed onto the flat part of bracket. Lift the crescent wrench handle in small increments like about quarter inch to no more than 1 inch upwards depending on how much sag the bracket has. That should bend it to where it needs to be, then you can remove the adjustable wrench and re-assemble the door. Just don't overdo it because you're in a hurry, you may end up moving the hinge pin beyond the range where it needs to be if you're not careful.
Hi iam in india. i have a hitachi double door. Freezer on top and main door at the bottom. As per hitachi tech door swivel area is slightly damaged so air is escaping leading to freezer drip and less cooling. Their solution is replace door(already done two years back) Any solution for me?
Watch my video on how to remove and adjust door, you just need a few washers on the bottom hinge most likely. its really hard to give 100% or advice or even a video without the exact fridge you have in front of me but i would personally adjust the door and ad washers as per my video
Another thing to consider is when you loosen & take off the fridge door, you can adjust the fridge angle abit when you put the Top Screw back in In my case the bottom fridge is very rusty and corroded and somehow the fridge door slightly tilted.

raising the front two feet will help the door self shut though it wont make the door close if the door needs adjusting.
