Frostfire Ridge - Music & Ambience - World of Warcraft

- Frostfire Ridge is a harsh land of ceaseless winter and volcanic peaks, where travelers encounter molten lava as often as painfully cold snow. Rock-hewn Bladespire Fortress, built to grandiose heights by the ogres who occupy its halls, is one of the few structures able to remain standing amidst this inhospitable wilderness. It's the perfect target for the survivalist orcs of the Frostwolf clan.

Music from this zone straight up reminds me of my late friend. WoD was the last expansion we got to play together. He passed away from liver failure shortly before Legion. By the time they discovered what was wrong with him, it was just too late. He lived with us the last 2 years of his life. We had some hilarious and fun times in WoW, but this zone stands out the most. Perhaps because it was the last I have any recollections of playing together. I can still almost imagine his warlock wandering around, somewhere out there in Frostfire Ridge. Rest well, Walker!!
I hope you carry his memory proudly still, i am so sorry you have to go through this.Let his memories carry you forward. Cheers from Turkiye.
The art team never disappoints.
Even though WoD lacked content, I absolutely loved the leveling, the zones and the classes!
Yep, I say this since a few expansions. Even when gameplay fails, the art and level design team is always on the top.
I love Frostfire Ridge. Lots of happy memories leveling there and building my garrison. Thank you for this! ♥.
The nostalgia makes my heart hurt.. man I miss flying into this zone and being greeted by the beautifully bleak environment, the beautiful music and the snow.
Say what you will about wod but it did have wonderful art and music
Frostfire Ridge is probably my favorite zone of the last 3 expansions. It is so expansive, has a neat aesthetic, interesting story and quests, awesome sky box, and epic music that encapsulates very somber and powerful elements. It truly feels like you're beginning your trek onto a savage, distant, world.
Just found this amazing upload. Tragic, how short this lasted, and the rest of the world will never appreciate this epic journey of a musical masterpiece.
My best memory in Warlords of Draenor so far is leveling in Frostfire ridge in start of the expansion. Thanks for uploading this video!
WoD may not have been everyone's favorite, but this is one of my favorite themes in the entire game. WoD had a lot going for it in the leveling experience
This was an experience for me, beyond the usual leveling kind. I've played Warcraft games since forever, and after landing in Frostfire and setting up the garrison, I went out to take it all in. The home of the Frostwolves, of Durotan. With every step you could feel what made them strong, and why they fought so hard for their family. Imagine, too, what it meant to Thrall. The main musical piece is called "Magnificent Desolation" and it couldn't be more right.
The last truly great WoW zone. Epic in scope, design, conveyed brilliantly by an art team firing on all cylinders. And that score! Truly magical stuff.
"Magnificent Desolation" is a perfect name for it.
y'know, it's kinda worth the wait for all my favorite zones. Makes falling asleep to this beautiful music so much sweeter.
I’m loving all these WoD videos!
I’ve always loved WoD’s soundtrack: it relies on a lot of unique instruments and styles, introduces iconic new themes, has fantastic cinematic music, and even updated some classic themes. Most zones have a very distinct theme: Frostfire is magnificent desolation, Shadowmoon is tranquil peace, Nagrand is beautiful savagery, Arak is ancient mystery, and Tanaan was danger and anxiety.
Hoping for Nagrand next (WoD Nagrand Mountains is in my top 3 WoW themes). Regardless, fantastic videos as always!
I loved this zone, primarily it being the home of the Frostwolf clan. I feel great pride bringing my orc toons here, especially recently my Mag'har orc who I RP as a Frostwolf. I enjoyed all the Frostwolf clan associated quests.
For Durotan, the best chieftain of the orc clans.
FOR BLACKHAND, CHIEFTAIN OF THE BLACKROCK!
Frostfire Ridge ... ... 14 ... skipping school... its snowy outside... i think this was the best memory i had in this game
1:27 is what you're looking for
YESSSS
YES nice job we're the same person now
That's right boy, that's right
No its not
WoD had nice leveling, music and I absolutely loved High Maul and BRF. It had potential.
This is the music I will always think of when I think of WoD. Beautiful.
Finally!!! Magnificent desolation is a favorite of mine
Fun fact: Frostfire Ridge was my third or fourth video on this channel. I don’t quite remember why I got rid of it.
@@Everness1 must have been a psychotic break in your brain at the time, glad you're doing better now. 😂
Just love the theme and the frostwolves cullture amazing :)
oh the potential of this zone...
I used to go here on my alliance character just for the music even though I had no business in this zone
love this much, best so far from the playlist. continue to listen :)
Hey man, once again i'd like to say I appreciate you. You have the highest quality of these kind of videos on youtube. I've been watching these and the Elder Scrolls videos for so long. I'd like to request that you make some of these of the fable games, Specifically fable 2. Not only would I appreciate that, but I'm sure others would too. Thank you for blessing us with the content you post
I know WoD was a pile of ka ka and poop but the zones, music and leveling through them was some of the most fun I had during that time.
for sure, they did good on it up to max level then it was so meh!
@@arthurcecchini4322 because rushing to endgame content is "fun"? Mmk.
My favorite location in this game, ty for this video, i appreciate that :D
A other good vidoe dude keep it up you rock can you makke a vidoe of Drustvar plz
I remember my first experience playin on global with my brother, it was on WoD and Frostfire Ridge was the first zone, such a great zone love it. WoD was bad expansion but leveling was fun, but it could be so much more, great potential.
30:06 huuuuuge Uruk-hai vibes!
Grats on 100k!
*Off topic*
I don't know if you even played Guild Wars 1, but I know you would love the soundtrack. (Jeremy Soule)
Magnificent Desolation theme reminds me of the movie Dances with Wolves.
45:25 love it
Need music from the pier where the ships are
expansion was sorta lame but the zones where pretty interesting. it was nostalgic revisiting this version of draenor in 2014 and remembering how the zones where back in 2006 in BC
I despise WoD story but loved it's ascetic. I wish they just updated Outland to look more like this
makes no sense, outland is an fel ruined world like argus
@@BeanMan157 Lots of still habitable zones like Nagrand and Terrokar, actually half the zones are largely fel free
i can finally fall a sleep bc off you
god it was such a pain in the ass to get around there
Ikr
Time to firefreeze my ass off
AFK in Garrison music
Still way better that BfA!
Still way better then SL!
Still way better than DF!
