Mine just started doing this. Just funny that my old 1974 Electrolux fridge i use in the garage has been working flawlessly with no service at all 50 years later lol
This means the cubes are just frozen into the tray. Take a hair dryer to the bottom of the tray for a few minutes, then reset the ice maker. This worked for me.
Mine too . . . exact same refrigerator and same Craft Ice maker, making the exact same gear-stripping loud knocking noise when it attempts to eject the ice-balls..
@@brad_nailer , Good advice ... called LG and under warranty LG assigned a repair service. The repairman intends to replace whole Ice-unit but it's on back-order in short supply. Noise is the result of slipping stripping gears during ice ejection. I guess many other people are having to replace their Craft Ice unit too. Repairman said he's replaced a few of these craft ball ice units already.
It will eventually fail. I have had three replaced under extended warranty, the last two doing the banging noise before failing. It is fairly easy to replace. One of the good videos on RUclips showing how it works and how to replace it: ruclips.net/video/zJN_j9iuirY/видео.html
I just had it replaced about 2 weeks ago and so far so good. I saw the video you posted and that's what the service guy did. He said it was a common problem.

If it's still under warranty don't wait, call them up for a replacement.
@@brad_nailer Thanks but I think the warranty was just a year. I will call to double check though. Thanks for your input!
Good luck.

Well it's been 6 months and all is still good with my craft ice maker since being replaced. (fingers crossed)
I just had it replaced about 2 weeks ago and everything seems fine so far.
What replaced?
@@MrSlowPaper The whole ice maker unit above the tray.
If anyone knows a quick fix for this before I contact LG, please let me know.

@@booneb5987 My repair guy said the same thing, he also replaced a number of them.
Mine doesn’t sound like that but stopped making ice

How long did it take to fail?
I'm going to say about 6 months before it went,. I would like to think the fridges after mine have the better Craft Ice makers in them.
@@brad_nailer I just got an LG refrigerator delivered 2 days ago with the craft ice maker so I guess we shall see.
@@michaelsircher3098I saw your comment was 8 months old so figured I would check to see if you had any issues with yours so far.
I know how to fix it now! I fixed mine
how you fixed ?

Do you still recommend the fridge?!?!
@@joemomma707 I still recommend the fridge, it's really a good one.
Mine doesn't make any ice balls at all..any advice???
Contact LG and get it replaced, I haven't had a problem since it was replaced. It's almost 9 months now.
mine does the same thing haven’t had any luck with LG or warranty how can it be fixed ?
What do you mean? Shouldn’t LG replace it?
