Great job on the video. I am eager to learn more and get online on Enigma’s Cold War Server but am still not sure about my current experience with this environment. I am looking forward to seeing more content on the Enigma servers and various roles that are needed for both red and blue.
I wouldn’t stress about your experience too much. Just try it you‘ll get used to it and you‘ll enjoy it A LOT. And don’t worry if you suck at the beginning that’s normal and nobody will judge you for it :)
My CAS procedure: 1. Load A2G weapons 2. Panic and dump them when tripwire says 10 miles, then dogfight like mad.. Only joking 😂 I just take Huey troops to do it for me while eat pizza and drink beer 🍻
Thank you very much for this great insight on how to shift balances in a server via CAS. I will manifest a gaming pc setup for me... get into the froggi asap and when I get the hack I hope we can join forces in enigmas cold war! ;)
Haha, aye. I'll do an update on it after a while, holding off in case it reverts. The core is still correct and where they spawn is still correct so it's not the end of the world, just it's now entire front vs entire front.
Wonderful video. Question: On 7:14 you show the possible blue front line spawns for red to target. I see that there is one section along the front and coast, where you can makeout LAZAR , there is now blue front line spawn listed there. That blue hexagon is directly adjacent to the red hexagon in my interpretation of the map. I am wondering why there is not a blue front line spawn along that side of the hexagon. Is it because of the coast? is that why there is a red spawn there, but not a blue spawn?
Yes. I'm not sure if ground units spawn along a coastal frontline currently. I think they no longer do but I'm not entirely sure. Naval units though as positioned differently. Instead of being at the edges of the hex, they are in the centre. I cover finding and killing naval units in a different video in this series.
Ive just learned about the Enigma server and this is super interesting. Are there any realistic limitations on the loadout? It would definitely make the gameplay more realistic since sim pilots don't have to fear for their lives so they tend to go in a lot closer and take more risks just to make sure everything is destroyed whereas a real pilot would do his mission and get the hell out of the area of operation asap. Limited loadouts would kind of achieve the same result.
Well, any aircraft loss directly counts against your team. Additionally there are limited planes in the Syria map (fulcrum, tomcat and a more advanced version of the F1) which you unlock with points from doing CAS or recon and only get back if you land it safely
@@Dr_Jebus OK, I see a lot more thought has gone into this server that I just don't know about :) Do you know if the servers still have room for new players ? I read somewhere that they were pretty much full
@@davidtsw Of course! It does fill up at prime hours, so if you're connecting during the EU evening on the weekend, you may have to wait a bit, but there's normally slots available during the day or anytime during the week. And even if it's full, you just have to wait until someone disconnects
Might be broken. It was fine the other day. Normally only the logistics trucks don't get deleted. Everything else should. Also bear in mind that burning targets remain on the map until they explode
A4 and other plane specific videos will come as and when I feel confident with airframes. Still learning the A4 myself. In the mean time I've heard really good things about DCS Sport's A4 videos
12k views and not enough thanks! Thank you for taking the time making these series Jeebs.
Thanks Doc...I'm new to this CAS thing (just tried it since the A-4 was available). Very useful guide!
As always, very clear and informative. Thank you so much for making these videos!

thanks for these videos for the new format + overview of roles, its very useful even as someone not new to ECW who hasnt played in a bit :)
thank you!. i just started playing in enigma and this was very helpful
Awesome video. The best explanation so far.

Nice guide, thank you 🎉
Gotta love that no more than two weeks later, the server is changed, so the ground forces explanations are outdated.

A video on recon would be good, I have still never managed to pick up any recon targets.

Really helpful vid
Maybe it’s broken right now but I’m not seeing circles removed / I have flown to targets and when I get there they are destroyed
