I've been using contention to learn the red aircraft. They really are great fun! I love sneaking through mountains and doing the flanker thing :)

I just started flying on these servers, the 80's one. Went from a die-hard grayflag player to trying new things and I'm glad I did! I've used contention to get better at using Redfor aircraft and it's truly a blast! Their big guide packet they have was super helpful too.

Another tip you forgot us that the Viggen cannot mix loadouts. The only exception to this rule is the cannon, the countermeasure pod and the RB-05 and RB-75(maverick), and of course, the Sidewinders. You can also mix Cannons with a countermeasure pod by taking one of each, while this does leave the viggen slightly unbalanced, it will allow you to have guns and countermeasures...

Why are there rules against playing vehicles like they are supposed to(using cover) seems silly and arbitrarly skewed towards air players

I'm in the HB Cold War server a lot lately and it has its busy times. I fly the A-4 so not many options.

PAL would be better if the target is in the hud (rather than VSL high or low)

Jester ruins the 14 for me. Hes like - locks enemy thinking its friendly - "Can't do it!" - "Unable!" - Locks wrong enemy from a pack ahead - Announces random missiles that aren't for me - Calls every missile "Stinger", making me think it's from a ground AA/manpad - Constantly tries to be my RWR, calling nails, "dirt" and whatnot blasting my SA to pieces Seriously, Jester is the Siri of DCS. Only good for setting a timer, at best :) And he's the reason why I don't fly the 14 and didn't fly the F4 either. Having him in two planes would be more than I can handle.
