You are so right with your advice. I hope everyone reading this will reach his/her money goals for 2023.🌹 Keep the good work going. Best wishes from Germany😊
Hi Marina 👋🏼 thank you for the positive affirmation not just for me but for everyone in this little community we built. 🤍
Lived in Germany for 6 years, loved living there!! 💕
The biggest thing that kills my budget to this day is FOOD. I eat out too much >.< I do a budget check monthly and it really helps to SEE where my money is going. Tips that are currently slowly helping me break this habit is making grocery lists and also baking at home more. I have a huge sweet tooth, so instead of buying a single cookie or brownie for nearly $5, I force myself to make a choice: either I make my own or I skip having a treat. Then I try to give away whatever I bake to others!
Samee
Haha same from the convenience of Uber eats, and living around so many food spots 😂
Same! It's hard because I just love food so much and the experience of going out and enjoying it with friends
Me too!! Food and gas. I have to eat low carb and of course, meat is much more $ than a loaf of bread
Your comment about changing what you're watching was a huge one for me. A while back, I unsubscribed to a lot of channels and stopped watching hauls or decorating videos. I find that your videos, minimalism videos, and budgeting videos help keep my mind calm and I can focus on what I already have. I'm a lot happier for it too!
For the subscription advice, another way you can still enjoy new releases of movies and shows is to get them from the library. At least in my city in the US, I can get any new movie or show release I want to check out. If what you’re looking for is not available, you can always request it. More often than not, they will purchase it to add it to the library collection or loan it from another library so you can check it out. Many people don’t know that our local libraries (at least in the US) are full of all kinds of resources. I can also get access to subscription newspapers like The New York Times, magazines, and language learning software to name a few. We should all take advantage of these free services :)

Lol @ monthly "pamper routines." There's coworker of mine on social security and disability, like a fixed income, section 8 housing, and she goes to a nail salon once a week or every two weeks to get a full set done, and it costs $50 every time! So that's like 100-200 dollars a month and then last month she was freaking out because she had no money in her account to buy cat food for her two cats. 🙄🙄🙄 The silliness of so many people. I'm sure she isn't unique. Meanwhile, nail polish from the drugstore costs less than $15 for a nice cookout and a decent clear coat.
That you can use many times over.
I've never understood why people go to the salon just to get their nails painted. I know some people struggle to paint their nails but all it takes is buying a nailpolish from the drugstore for under £5 and practice.
I gave up pedicures after the pandemic and started doing them myself. I dye my own hair just to touch up my grey and I cut my own hair. I agree though.. It's expensive to pamper yourself. You can, however, go extreme in the other direction. I allow myself $20 a month to add to a self care fund overall. It's not a lot, but it's something. I will use that fund for clothes too though... Which I also don't buy much anymore. Great video!
I have black african natural hair and I have learned to do most hair care for myself over the years. Getting my hair done at a natural hair salon either costs an arm and a leg AND/OR the end result doesn't satisfy me. The only thing that I can't do is trim my ends, but I will learn eventually so I can save money there. I even got tired of getting my nails done at a salon. I used to think it was relaxing but now it feels like I get rushed out the door, but I guess that's just how business works. I would rather save for a 1 hour full body massage or an all-day ticket to a Korean style spa. I don't feel rushed and get the self-care I need. Being self-sufficient on other areas of my life has saved me so much money.
I got a gel nail kit last xmas as a gift, I love having nice nails but not paying a crazy price every month! I will never go back to a nail
place ever again!
This is a good message Kyra. I'm that girl that also thinks why do I need to do my nails, why do I need lash extensions? So I dont. I often see girls with these ridiculously long unnatural lash extensions or fake lashes and I wonder why?? Our own lashes are good enough and should be accepted as beautiful too.
Hey Kyra! Before this new year started I decluttered my social media and unfollowed a lot of influencers that would do Amazon hauls. Sure I enjoyed watching the content but it also made me question if I needed the same things. It’s crazy how that works and how brainwashing it can be. I just unfollowed to save my bank account because I love watching my savings grow! I wish I had a friend in real life that was as frugal as you! I need someone to keep me in check and motivated 😂
I’m guilty of overspending on eating out vs cooking at home. I try to cut back but somehow continue to do it. 😅 I will keep trying and setting a strict budget.
So right to have a fast (healthy) food in a pinch! My mom will be 91 this February 🥰 Kyra, you worked in a nursing home and know things can happen suddenly with elderly. I always have frozen veggies in hand in case. My mom was hospitalized unexpectedly and I needed to have quick food to make. For hair care, my friend criticized me for purchasing products with alcohol in them. It is difficult to purchase hair care without alcohol in the ingredients.
Random side thought: I love how the little strands of grey in your hair are like tinsel 💕💕💕 it’s so pretty! and I hope that doesn’t come across as a judgement, I am hardcore graying at 28 and painfully growing it out lol.
Biggest thing killing my budget was buying cloths continuasly. I used to buy cloths online and physical stores but all those cloths ended like I don't need them. When I calculate how much I spent, it was tons of money which I'm really embarrassed to say. I don't know how stupid I was that time. But now new me, I don't buy anything unless I really do want them. About saving money you are my guru. Because of you I've learned money saving tips. Thank you so much girl 🌹
I DIY literally all my beauty stuff, do my own nail extensions and cut my own hair and highlight and do my own brows using a tweezer and dollar store razor. I also only use dollar tree skin care retinol and hyalourinic acid serum, and pond’s lotion that contains niacinamide and gets rid of dark spots. I also use dollar tree makeup almost exclusively including glue on lashes. I use their teeth whitening strips too. So I look like I spent a ton of money on self care without spending more than like ten bucks a month on beauty treatments. most of my clothes are thrifted or gifted to me or hand me downs from family.
Love this video and the advice. Thank you Kyra!! The biggest thing that kills my budget is eating out/doordash!! No more of that this year. I want to save money for a house in the future !
Back in 2020 and 2021 i started buying hime decor because i started watching people that go and buy new decor all the time and then last summer i got tired of looking at it and dusting the stuff so i git rid of 95% of it and now looking back i realized all the money i wasted on it and regret spending money on it.
Kyra you look so radiant! I loved this video, it really made me think about my expenses so thank you! I wish I could stop dyeing my hair, but I have so many grays. I just feel more confident when my hair is dyed.
🙏😘🌹💗💗💗💗
Hi Eleni 👋🏼 that’s ok my mom is the same way and so is my sisters when it comes to their gray hair. It took my a pandemic to finally realize I don’t need to keep dying my hair every 4 months and just save that money since I fell in love with my natural color again and the tiny grays peeking through.
The biggest thing for me is eating out or take out. It took 2020 for me to realize how much cheaper it is to eat at home, I feel so silly in hindsight
Hi Rosario 👋🏼 oh yes it’s crazy how fast it can add up, without us even noticing. Don’t feel silly we’ve all been there 🤍
Thank you for this video! Really good advice here on how to limit spending which I definitely needed
Omg loved all the advises, but especially the one about the subscriptions❤, thanks Kyra!
Yayy so happy you enjoyed the video 🤍 thanks for being here hun!
Love what you said about giving people the list of free services as a replacement for netflix hulu etc. Also you look gorgeous in green!!
This is a really great video, Kyra!! Thank you for this thoughtful content😊❤️
So many people don't know the difference between cheap and thrifty.
Hello Kyra and everyone 👋🏿 Happy Tuesday 💕. Great Video. Yes Insane however People are keeping up with others to be Relevant. I Just Donated all my Adidas Athletic Wear to a Ladies Shelter. I feel Good and so done with all these Labels.Stay true to yourself.
I think you are adorable. I love your channel and most of your advice. Your advice this time is age-related. At 64 my "routines" have skyrocketed. At your age I rarely did anything. Now it is a necessity.
Always love the advice you give! Thank you ❤
Very informative video Kyra. Great job! I always appreciate these reminders 🤍
Great points! Thanks for sharing Kyra. I love this green on you!
You are so welcome hun and thank you for watching 🤍
For me it’s food n gas. I live in a very expensive state, work very long hours so I don’t have much time to cook from home. Drive all over for work…hoping to find something new soon but many places pay less than what I currently make! Smh
I relate to Netflix/Hulu things. Good thing is I didnt feel bad cancel my subscription 😂😂😂
Yayyy!! Now you get save more money each month, it’s so freeing when you don’t have a ton of random little subscriptions each month.
Love your ideas! Thank you for this!
love these tips started my emergency fund this year! so exicted to add every month
I started meal prepping my lunch and breakfast months ago and saved mad money😂😂 I definitely still go eat out occasionally though 🤷🏾♂️ just like 2/3 times a week versus like every other day like I was
Great insights as always, thanks Kyra!!
I needed this right now ❤
I don't do maintenance routines. Cut my hair at home, leave it natural too. No manis, no pedis, ever!!. No facials, no spa. I've saved so much money. I also streamlined my skincare and makeup too. Just a simple cleanser, and simple moisturizer with spf, and just mascara, concealer and lip balm. I'm sure I've saved thousands of dollars.
Great minds think alike 😄
eating out too much and bored Amazon browsing is killing my budget.
I can do relate to both of these. Back when I was in my early 20s more than half of my paycheck would go to eating out 🤦🏻♀️ and pointless Amazon items. Thank goodness I learned and I’m so grateful I can help you guys out as well 🤍
If I had your hair, I wouldn’t do anything either.
I currently have no streaming service subscriptions. I don't have the money to spend on it right now. But even before, I never have more than one and I usually just (if I have the money for it) subscribe at the moment something is up that I like, mostly series because renting a movie can usually become very cheap if you wait long enough and I usually chose the SD option (I hardly ever have good enough wi-fi for HD anyway). 😂 Then I make sure to watch what I want within a month, so that I can go on merry way again (also look out beforehand if anything else is available that I've wanted to watch or just use the rest of the time to discover something new). Works well for Netflix, and for everything else like Prime or Disney+ I just bid my time till all episodes are released. Since I usually have no issues with spoilers, I can do so comfortably. 😂
great video idea ahead of the recession! lots of good points, especially the mindset. every action starts with a thought!
Hi Corrine, thank you for watching!! 🤍
While on one hand I ultimately don't buy things I can't afford, I definitely spent more than I needed to on at times stupid things.
Ahh I can so relate!!
Damn girl, I wish I could let go, and I know I could if I really wanted to… But my hair extensions and brow lamination..? I’m weak😂
Can I ask you what shampoo and conditioner you use? I have tried all the expensive ones and do not like the way they make my hair feel!!
I've been watching all your old vlogs and girl you should publish a cook book! The banana bread and pineapple upside down cake looked amazing when you made them for vees mom! I'd really buy it if you came out with one! Hugs
Omg that would be AMAZING!! Hopefully one day I can do that 🙌🏼 I absolutely LOVE to bake and cook.
@@Kyraann. I'd buy it girl you cook amazing!
So smart, I should save this..thank you💖
Thanks Sanja 🤍😊
I'm lucky that my mom does hair and gives me free haircuts and high end hair products on discount. I've also learned to wax my brows and do my nails myself... but eating out is the hardest one for me. I love good food and one day I crave thai and the next I crave Indian. Idk how to make either 😭 I've been trying to learn to experiment in the kitchen and treat myself on occasion.
All of my hobbies, I don’t regret pursuing them but do regret not managing money better and or making more.
Good points.
Thanks Gayle 🤍
i'm always tired and cooking seems so daunting so the problem of buying food out is definitely me.
the first step is acknowledging it, right? 😅
could you do a video on how you specifically changed your money mindset? like step by step @kyraann717
My thing, is I get my hair highlighted, blonde is hard to maintain at home. But the cost is ridiculous at a salon…. Any suggestions?
Great video Kyra
Thank you!!
Great video! Keep them coming!
Thank you Pam 🤍
Definitely going to be saving money more in 2023!! I eat out way too much😅
Yes I agree with you - good content ❤
Thank you Sharon 🤍
Love the way you think 🤔 you give great advice Kyra. I feel like I'm in the same position right now with gift giving and money saving. some things are just more important in the world 🌎
Where is your sweater from 😍
I happily pay 200 € every month for my facial🤭
As long as you do what makes you happy MarieLou that’s all that matters.
As a future skincare specialist your skin will thank you later you are investing in yourself💕❤️
Another smart video!!
Biggest thing that killed my budget in 2022 was Christmas gifts. Now I have buyers remorse and it took a Lot from my account
Don’t let it hurt you I know before I would have that guilt. We learn from things as we grow. We haven’t done Christmas gifts in a while and it helps our bank account. Let this be the new mind set and see who you absolutely have to get a gift for but if you can make it an experience rather than object for gifts. So like movie tickets, Air bnb etc anything within your budget. People may be upset but it’s your money not theirs.
Thank you so much. I have been really depressed about it for the last week. I needed this advice. Love all your videos as I am trying to build my bank account
💜💜💜
🤍😊
Hi beautiful 💜, Great video 💯
Hi hun,Thanks for watching 🤍
Going out to eat 😢
For me is close and nails 💅 😒
☀️
Hi Kyra I would like to know if you have a P.O Box. Amazing video like always. ❤
Food & gas is killing our budget lol
Of course 😅 but some people always add other things on top of the gas and food.
Same!!
They have threading tools to help or you can just get the thread
Yea I personally suck at doing my own eyebrows. I’ve tried numerous times and I always mess them up. Something are better left to the professionals or to someone that knows what they are doing.
Hey Kyra , I love your channel ، aside from the materialistic things ,I recommend you to learn about Islam and read a translated version of the holy Quran , I promise you it will enrich your life , take care
