@@astudentpilotlife Still waiting for my s24 ultra. Sill can't pick it up at the Samsung store yet. Still using my Note 20 Ultra in the meantime. I can't wait.
I upgraded from the Galaxy S22 Ultra (Exynos) to the Galaxy S23 Ultra (512GB) and haven’t looked back-it’s a major leap in performance. In my opinion, S24 is a downgrade, mainly due to its titanium build. Titanium is a poor heat conductor, which could lead to overheating issues, and it also doesn’t absorb shock well. This means that if you drop the phone, the glass will take the full impact, making it more likely to crack.
Wise choice. Apparently the S25 Ultra is the one to wait for. New design (at last) plus 50% better performance (Please Google 8Gen4 benchmarks) and a Sony main sensor and variable optical zoom and 50Mp Ultrawide and a screen that will set new standards.
You made some good observations. I almost traded my S23U in for the S24U. Considering there will be software updates for my phone, I think I'll wait for the S25U, maybe even the S26U. At this point, unless you have both phones side by side, it's hard for me to feel that I'm missing out. Even with this comparison, it's hard for me to feel that I'm missing out. :))
I have the the S23U and compared to the S24U it feels old, the biggest upgrade is not the the Ai or the 5x telephoto, its the display, miles better, not going back to S23U
Unless you really love tech and need to have the latest and greatest. You don't need to upgrade all the time. One year is too short of a time. I would probably stretch it out to three or four. When the Note 20 Ultra came out I was thinking about trading in my Note 9. I tried out the Note 20 and wasn't that compelled to upgrade so I returned the Note 20 Ultra and just kept using the Note 9.

This is by far the best comparison video i have seen. I could finally put together the real improvements made by each phone. It so hard to tell when watching all the videos separately between 2 phones. What i would have liked to see is a zoom test in video mode on each. More interestingly Id like to see the same comparison done but add the iPhone 15 Pro Max vs S24 Ultra. I want to see how the cameras stack up in the same exact detailed manner you presented in, and in video mode with shots side by side, and zoom while in video mode. I cant tell from any video on youtube if iPhone video with zoom is better, equal or worse.
Speaking for myself and friends who own the Note 20 Ultra , The expandable memory giving it up to 1.5TB of storage makes it a favorite amongst galaxy fans. Ive know a couple of people to go back to the note 20 ultra after having a s21 amd s22. Its the last of its kind . After doing away with removable batteries and durable glass ,Expandable memory was the last of what separated adroid users from the apple crowd .
I have owned them all and for me the S21 Ultra is the best phone Samsung ever made. Shame it never got a second year! it was forgotten about so quickly yet when it cam out it was groundbreaking.
I wish they would've stuck with the S21U's design at least one more generation. It's the reason why mine is hard to let go off. Even if it is an Exynos model.
Ooh damn! This is by far the best comparison and the only one anyone should need for jumping from any of these generations. I have a diff view, though. I still love that front camera from s22ultra as it seems to have more detail in this comparison. Secondly i think we use that word generations too loosely in my opinion, i think the s20 and s21 are just one generation, s22 and 23 same generation, and the s24 is the beginning of another generation. The note 20ultra is just the black sheep of the family 😆. Thank you for this video, man! 🫡
I really appreciate this breakdown. I am on a 22U and am a clothing reseller. Love this phone, but boy, is it fickle with color sometimes.. I am thinking of going for the 24U and would love if you would be able to do some layflat photography side by side. I have gone from the s21 Ultra to the s24 Ultra, and I'm also in sunny Queensland, so the s21 Ultra was an Exynos. Besides the differences in the cameras, the display, and the chip performance, I have noticed that the call quality and connectivity/reception is way better on the s24 Ultra with the Snapdragon. It is definitely an upgrade. I'm just waiting for the software update to fix the display issues of vividness. One gripe I have is having to change the notification sounds, so they are not all the same default sound. But I got there!
I have gone from a Note 20 Ultra to the S24 Ultra and, it's really nice, but it is not an over-the-top explosive upgrade I was hoping for. I will try to hold onto the S24 Ultra for 5 years this time around and see how it goes then. I have no regrets upgrading, but maybe I have not found all the ins and outs that makes the S24 Ultra beyond good compared to the Note 20 Ultra.

@@LukeWoodham-h6x Thanx for the reply. I always view the statements of "x volume of years support" as a marketing ploy. I've still got my S10+ and that is still getting support regardless of it supposedly having being stopped 2 years ago. It's like that with other phones as well. It's not about the money, it's about holding a phablet up to my ear to talk and in my hand when it isn't easy to handle. I'm actually thinking of waiting for the Flip 6 so that, even when folded it is thicker, but it is slimmer in hand over all... One can actually handle the height when the width of the phone is less. I miss brands making a compact flagship.
I have the S23U and i have been using the S20U well battery wise its a big big change, went from half day battery to a whole day battery, exynos to snapdragon for galaxy and also QHD+ 120HZ that is adaptive to qhd+ or 120hz, its a big change and for now this is my best phone i have ever owned, compared to xiaomi 12 pro, xiaomi 11, samsung S20U.
The s24 ultra got so many camera issues- HDR, overexposed night mode and video, portrait mode and portrait mode video. You can't make a portrait mode video with the 3x lens like s23 ultra, super slowmo is gone.
I watched it back this morning and I still think the S24 Ultra has done the best, but the S22 Ultra was a definite improvement compared to what came before it.
I upgraded from the S20U to the S24U and the S24U is noticably cooler when running and the battery lasts longer than the S20U did when it was new due to the adaptive screen. The only thing I think the S20U does better are the speakers, the S24U sounds a bit tinny in comparison especially at higher volumes
I used s20 ultra, then the display tuned white after one ui 5 update. Then I got OnePlus 10 T , should I upgrade to s24 ultra? I'm still scared of display issues which also continued to note 20u , s21 u, s22 u( green line, white display, etc)

The hdr in s24 ultra 1x photo mode, is very bad and I watched in other videos comparison. It is wierd that shadows should be brighter cuz the hdr of s24 ultra 1x are mostly blown up. But shadows are darker than s 23 ultra. S 23 ultra has somehow better control on highlights and not making it blown out, but still maintaining more details in dark area than the s 24 ultra
This is what i'm saying The S21 Ultra is the last real S Phone after that the Ultra pretty much replaced the S with the Note not the other way around the Normal S and the + are the real S phones while the Ultra is a note phone.
Call me Old, or Old Fashioned. But I still prefer the old shape camera modules to today's. It appears to be more ' Combined ' rather than Standing out as in today's models.
Very nice bra, hi if I could ask ur opinion on something to replace my note 20 ultra, 256Gb with 512 card 😢, also just my luck my ipad 12,9 was sat on and is cracked beyond and very bent but still won’t 100%, no bad color no dead spots just the cracks and bend, have a screen protector on I know that’s some of the cracks but I’m not risking taking off, already replaced the screen 2 years ago and honestly it’s just not worth replacing. So Iv also been iOS and iPads till the note 9 then this note 20, guess that pen and storage upgrades faster charging back then Samsung still gave loads of free stuff but it’s been close to 4 years for the ultra, my biggest issue is I live in South Africa and I don’t know if Iv heard of the electricity issue we have had for 3 and more years, some days it’s 12h on 12h off but not for a while and it can only be maximum 4h a time then 4h with so on. Not the problem though, for a broken democracy and so little the average wage, it’s over 20 Rand a dollar in the 80s 1USD was 79c in the early 90s it was around the same by 2010 it was pas 10 Rand now it’s 20 and not having power doesn’t help the situation. I am more lucky but can’t do the ultra pro everything again, laptop( desktop im not fussed ) but obviously power would be a factor. Sorry to go on here i just think u might know something higher end but not Ultra, mayb 1 device can be just not a MacBook Pro haha best I can do is Mac mini maybe pro but we don’t get the choice of specs on most macs, thanks keep it up alan. FYI just heard u talk the note 20 it’s good still but the screen isn’t doing well and now it’s just so fragile, the back is perfect the everything but I know once it breaks that next incident after it was cracked in a place, honestly I wish I could fix everything, Iv got the note 9 I can use but that screen is shocking, ipad par 10,5 256 4G, iPad Air 9,7 iPhone 6s still pretty good since it’s never been worked on but battery drops in 3% increments. If u even know of something that’s next level survival of the anything 😂 thanks man
I hope the S25U is a substantially bigger upgrade. I'd like to see a SD 8 Gen 4, 16GB of RAM, 144hz screen, a 1 inch camera sensor, and a few other tricks up its sleeves.
The s23 ultra and the s24 ultra are the same phones the 24 just has Ai which is going to be a paid subscription next year so your going to have a s23 with a24 wrote on it.

I'm trying to figure out how do you like those rounded phones more than the more Square more edgy technologically advanced phones of the note series. . I have my note 20 Ultra right now that I'm finally forced to swap out tomorrow morning when it comes in the mail because Samsung has started removing features from the 20th Ultra. The note series phones are the best of all the square design is best. The round edges really didn't bother me much only thing that I hate about this phone is a Samsung is lazy and they're breaking us by reaching into our pockets by taking away stuff. Unlike other phones from other countries who still give you a charge and bring who still give you a charger may even give you a case and may have an SD card Samsung is just robbing Us blind. But I am going to enjoy the s24 ultra
I bought and used all of them, they all had problems except the s24 ultra. The s23 ultra is a really good phone. I did not buy the 24 ultra because I was bored. I will buy the iPhone 16 pro max because the Samsung camera is now behind Looks like Samsung is lazy now and doesn't want to spend special effort on something
Gone from an s21 ultra to a 24 ultra, not worth changing every year, definitely worth it & my costs are cheaper than my old s21 ultra bills by £12 a month plus I now get unlimited data instead of 10gb per month 0:00, that's thanks to Tesco & I use my club card plus staff discount unlimited for staff is £10 pm. Sold my s21 ultra for £ 260 too. The camera is amazing quality, try & use raw setting instead of standard they pop.plys it's probably my last mobile due to onset of dementia at 66 years of age & retirement next month, so a treat.

My mind might be playing tricks on me but I thought the mics in the S22 Ultra sounded the best.
I watched it back this morning and I still think the S24 Ultra has done the best, but the S22 Ultra was a definite improvement compared to what came before it.
@@techwithbenefits I was watching from my phone speaker so that's probably why it sounded different for me.
why the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is on android 13. it shoud have android 14
You didnt mention the painful focus issues the S21ultra - as in seriously blurry at x1 camera. I had two of them with same problem.
definitely done very well, wow love the video.
Recent 24U upgrade from note 20 & it's brilliant 🎉
I recently bought the S21 Ultra for the first time to test it before buying the S24 Ultra. To be honest, I just love Samsung.
😊😊😊
I see that in this video, you're using S24+? I could see the artificial background blur
I used s20 ultra, then the display tuned white after one ui 5 update. Then I got OnePlus 10 T , should I upgrade to s24 ultra? I'm still scared of display issues which also continued to note 20u , s21 u, s22 u( green line, white display, etc)
I absolutely hated the camera modules on the s20u, N20, S21u i much prefer the S22u's approach
Quick question do you own all of them
Yes I sure do!
23:42 wow, the S22 is better. The ground texture was also much better
This video was fantastically useful! I care about zoom and microphone and a reasonable price so I like the S22 Ultra.
Great idea and really a usefull Video!
Awesome video
Still using my S21 Ultra , clicked better shots than the S24 Ultra. Will only upgrade if the Expert RAW processing is having 50mp on all lenses.
Aaah the garbage S21 Ultra without the FREE S PEN with Bluetooth....
Sure you can pay $60 for one but again no S Pen and Zoom wasn't great
@@DENVEROUTDOORMAN I don't use the S-pen , I even have an S23 Ultra. My main is still the S21U due to it's rounded edges. And secondly , the zoom is practically the same against my S23 Ultra if i use Expert RAW on my S21 Ultra and then use Digital enhancement thru Galaxy X Enhance, Lengthy, but worth it for me.
The S21 Ultra is a device you should hold onto forever, even if it's just for the design. We will never see anything like it again.
hai.
when i must using 12MP and 200MP? thanks for reply
200mp in well lit places/outdoors
12mp indoors/poorly lit areas
The hdr in s24 ultra 1x photo mode, is very bad and I watched in other videos comparison.
It is wierd that shadows should be brighter cuz the hdr of s24 ultra 1x are mostly blown up. But shadows are darker than s 23 ultra.
S 23 ultra has somehow better control on highlights and not making it blown out, but still maintaining more details in dark area than the s 24 ultra
The nothing between them. I got 20 ultra and 23 ultra. I decided not go 24 ultra. As for night photo i still use the flash
S21U has the best timeless design of them all. Smasnug need to bring this design back.
Still using my N20U in 2024.
Samsung needs to turn off ai interference with the cameras,
Go back to the basic digital zoom.
But once Samsung got rid of the note they made the Ultra the new note.
This is what i'm saying The S21 Ultra is the last real S Phone after that the Ultra pretty much replaced the S with the Note not the other way around the Normal S and the + are the real S phones while the Ultra is a note phone.
Why are different companies going away from the rounded corners?
Watching on my s24 ultra❤
R.I.P galaxy Note
And a curved display. Flat displays should be given to the cheaper + and base models.
@@PlazDreamweaver It's funny because the flat display used to be considered cheap. Now people say they prefer a flat display for the s-pen.
Great to see the Gold Coast
For me. The S21 Really NAILED IT IN ALL AREAS. SHAPE. DESIGN. FEEL. ETC.
And. If I can add. The camera module on the Google phones are much neater and tidier. And don't rock on a flat surface
The s23 ultra and the s24 ultra are the same phones the 24 just has Ai which is going to be a paid subscription next year so your going to have a s23 with a24 wrote on it.
I have s22 ultra I probably wait for s25 ultra
Love s line and s pen
S22 Ultra getting Galaxy AI features with the next One UI 6.1 update
Awesome Content….. ❤️
@2:00 S24U owner here. ..in 2020 that S20 ultra .. That Cheap Feel you mention wad The final factor reason i got Huawei P40 PRO PLUS that year.... heavy ceramic white premium feel. (Still use the p40 today for gaming) 🦚🦚🦚
This Video was shot on S24+
thank you so much
I'm trying to figure out how do you like those rounded phones more than the more Square more edgy technologically advanced phones of the note series.
You know that I actually prefer the camera module on the phone
Older devices
S21 ULTRA 🔥
I bought and used all of them, they all had problems except the s24 ultra. The s23 ultra is a really good phone. I did not buy the 24 ultra because I was bored. I will buy the iPhone 16 pro max because the Samsung camera is now behind Looks like Samsung is lazy now and doesn't want to spend special effort on something
Compare the regular S series also
And. For a joke. As a kid. If we had Nits, we had ' bugs' or ' fleas' in our hair. Not a BRIGHTNESS MEASUREMENT as today. ( The 1940s. Eh?)
Yes ,upgrade, because you live once, and money is just a tool, and chances are, you are watching this video, because you have the S23 Ultra and wanting to upgrade, of you already got the S24 ultra like myself and just watching to confirm your great choice! YOLO!
if your rich😂
Really😂
I bought the 20 ultra and liked it at time
We need S7 battery test in Shooting Range 😂
I would call the s10 5G the s10 ultra
i think the S24 ultra is ultimate version of N20U, S22U and S23U, i used N20u and S22u skip the 23 and now upgrade to s24u, its feels like the peak perfection of the trilogy 😅😂
May just have to purchase an S21U
35:48 The s21ultra is 25w not 45w
s21 ultra is a beast
