I've only read about fufu in the novel "Things Fall Apart" where it is paired with red palm oil. I found the palm oil in my local store's health food section and I felt like I had to try making fufu, without knowing what it looks or tastes like. Thank you for this video. I knew from the novel that it is a labor intensive food, but now I know it's also to be made right before serving, what it should look and feel like, and what I can serve it with. I am so grateful for your in depth description and your personal warmth. I know my nephew will be reading "Things Fall Apart" next year in school and I'll share this with my sister so he can have a more full understanding of what fufu is.
I love this process! This is an invention, Fafa! Sadly I don’t live close to any African store currently so am stuck with “yam flour.” But will definitely be trying this whenever I get some fresh yam! Thank you Fafa. Merry Christmas!
Wow amazing recipe 👌👌👌👌 I really like this video. Your work very well and you are very talented sister 🙏🙏🙏. Thank you for sharing. This is recipe look very beautiful and delicious 😋. May God bless you and all time happy your life 😊😊🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Oh forgive me this digression, .... but i seek out pictures of you online...for fashion goals 🙈🤩😍 Thank you for sharing the cooking techniques. Love them very much too.
Thank you for sharing. I saw another video that used a stand mixer ir hand mixer (kitchenaid style ) to mix the yam after boiling and it was alot less stirring as the mixer did all the work, perhaps that would be another alternative.
Now you are the creative channel, l fermented beans and mixed with my banku mix and it was a delicious fufu and then l used the same mixture to fry Jamaican dumpling it was delicious half the calories and more proteins so l use less meat. Please try it and do a video for us. Can use fermented whole wheat cornmeal.
That looks good i from jamaica we different types of yam here I'm wondering which would be the most suitable one for this dish i will try the harder yam first😊
N'DUDU that's a nice no pounding of Yam I will try this one merci beaucoup pour tes plans et petit secret de cuisine pour améliorer notre vie 👑👑👑👑👑❤💋💋💋💋

Wow wow hallelujah love 💕 love 💗 it so simple to do l which it so close l will do the same thing thank you sweet sister happy is the one who like s yam 🍠 fufu
@MilkyWay Tarot in the US go to African or Caribbean or Asian ethic food store and ask for Puna yam (ghana) or white yam (south American) they both are best available in US for west African dishes (don't use yucca or cassava).
Depends on the kind of Yam you used as fresh Yam has a pale buttery colour when cooked this way. There’s a big difference between black and a pearl like colour. 🤔 Do elaborate
my daughter has a project to do for mali and i saw that this was a dish done there. however watching this video you advise it to be done close to time to serve but she won't be able to. Is there any other way to have it done but taken to school to show and for the judges to sample
Ndudu literally means “food” in Fon or Gùgbe language of Benin🇧🇯 and SW Nigeria🇳🇬 . So this is Food by Fafa 😄. Same for the calabash part as well as the “wa mí dunu”. Wow! Was just wondering how you are Ghanaian 🇬🇭 with all of that. So it’s same in Ghana then?🤔
I made this recipe for the first time today, amazing!
Thank you for trying the recipe and feedback. Much appreciated 😘😘

Can I make fufu will yellow yam?
What type of yam is it ? Cassava/Yuca?? .. I’m def going to checkout your blog because all those yam dishes look yummy 😋. Thank s for sharing!
That’s a good question 🧐 you’ll have to ask the grocer to choose an older yam.
@MilkyWay Tarot in the US go to African or Caribbean or Asian ethic food store and ask for Puna yam (ghana) or white yam (south American) they both are best available in US for west African dishes (don't use yucca or cassava).
It looks like white yam
I made this and it was delicious 😋! Thanks again.
U need to try yam fufu with ademe , trust me on that

For that soft and pliable consistency it will be best to mix it with blended Cassava.
@@NdudubyFafa so she can still make them the night before to use for her project the next day or should I find another dish
Can I use plantains with yam?
You can use them separately in making this but not together. Traditionally Cassava is mixed with Plantain in preparing Fufu
