Thank you for including DIY Detail Gold Standard Polish. In future, it’s very important to use only one spray. 2 will reduce cut, and make wipe off difficult.
Koch Chemie P6.01 cut & finish works best in almost every situation. It also acts as a sealant but still need some kind of extra wax or sealant afterwards just to make sure
Outstanding video. Using rinse less for polish or compound removal works amazing on any brands, not just DIY spray polish. We have been getting amazing results with Pans spray polish
One of the best compounding & polishing videos on RUclips! Your observations at each step are clear and informative. Lighting and camera work are first rate with excellent narration. A challenging test using tricky GM Black paint. Keep producing high quality content and you should reach 20-K subscribers very soon.
Great way to show how those 4 products work. I have been having great results with the DIY polish and their pads. ( I find it works best with one spray on pad and wash off every panel) I also use 3D one and have great working time. I love how easy DIY wipes off with rinseless wash. Looking forward to the ceramic coating show down. Keep those high quality videos coming!
Hey Frank, great video as always! Rupes Yellow Fine Polish in my experience is best to use with their yellow foam, MF or wool pad. Rupes yellow fine wool with yellow fine polish is great for medium cut on hard paints and has really smooth and forgiving action. It's not great as a one step though, as I believe it has no diminishing abrasives, hence why it does not finish great. I think their uno advanced would be best for that purpose. For efficiency, theres nothing that beats gold standard paired with their system. Rotary low speed with their red jeweling waffle pad has surprising cut with amazing finish.
Awesome video. This put my mind at ease considering I had a client wanting a 1 step polish last week on their white 2018 Mercedes GLE that I tried The Gold Standard on without much results at all. I started my test spot with a damp yellow DIY waffle pad on my 15mm Milwaukee and tried different machine/arm speeds without any noticeable results. I then moved up to the Purple DIY Wool pad and ran through all the same methods with very very little difference at all. I know Mercedes paint is hard but I had high hopes for the Gold Standard Polish but was let down considering the client was only expecting a 1 step and I felt it was achieving a result I was happy with. Although, I am staying optimistic and look forward to trying it on softer paint.
@ ya I ended up going with Perfect Finish (which was actually formulated specifically for Mercedes paint) and spot treating with CarPro UltraCut. It just took me quite a bit longer to achieve a result I was happy with considering I was playing around with GSP but having no luck. I figured the wool pad would have done something as Yvan has never shown a vehicle in a video that GSP hasn’t “worked” on. Which was the reason I was disappointed but still optimistic
Thank you Breeze, I use the gold standard all the time it's very good and fits my line-up of compounds. I like to have 2 or 3 options. see you in the next one
Thanks for taking the time to test the products. Maybe try good old turtle wax one and done compound? I've had great results on both paint and on vinyl wrap (piano black). Maybe I'll pick up some DIYs gold standard and give it a try.

I have a disaster detail going on. It's a 2010 Ford Escape Black. I'm getting a lot of haze after compounding with an orange pad. Haven't tried DIY/Pan's... do I need to follow up with a finish polish? Great video, thanks for sharing. I also have Koch Chemie. I received a bottle of Sonax Perfect Finish today. That solved My problem. Produces a beautiful, deep, haze free shine. Don't hesitate to use that if You haven't tried it.
Hello Jay thank you for choosing my video. Yes when haze is present try to step down to a black pad or go with a softer polish. I can finish 98% of the paints with sonax PF and orange hdo. Cheers bud
Nice thorough review as always Frank! Some great options. Have you tried Adam's Sprayable Compound? I have not, just wondering if anyone has and if they may have used it as a one-step, in a pad dependent way.
Hey Ortho, I'm not so sure about P&S since they are with the 3D family now. THey might have a very successful 3D one in their line-up although not my favorite product.
I'm interested in if that works as claimed, I'm not a big fan of "one product that does multiple things", every time I have tried a dual purpose anything - be it polish/compound or dual purpose motorcycles - I wind up with a product that does two things at a mediocre level. But maybe P&S can prove me wrong.
I tried Rehab on my hood and it was very nice to work with! Finished great with a polishing pad on hard paint and easy wipe off! Definitely not the same as 3D One. Haven’t tested its correction ability.
@@orthodox1717 When you say "definitely not the same as 3D One" do you mean better or worse than 3D One? I have a bottle of 3D One but I don't use it often as I have other products that I like much better.

When my All Rounder Green Pads in 3, 5 and 6 inch diameter are in stock (being made in a few weeks in Europe by one of my several foam chemical/foam manufacturers) I would love to send you a few to test as these are my answer to the SDO/HDO Blue and all other brand's blue foam. Did you know that the SDO/HDO blue pads originate from a French manufacturer I started buying from in 2014 prior to LC sourcing them and modifying their design. My Green foam has the same or slightly more cut but more thermally stable and finishes a little better. Regards Matt The Pad King. PS Koch H9 75%, F6 25% is a combo I liked when I had those products in my arsenal a couple years ago. Try it
Awesome comparison. In my opinion a one step polish should never be used with a heavy cut pad, as the objective of a one step is improve as fast and best possible. Using a heavy cut pad will almost never finish without holograms/marring.
Hi Alfonso thank you for tuning in, appreciate you. I agree with you, if you're making reference to the Blue HDO it's a middle of the road foam pad after all. It sits below the OSP, the MF pad and the Wool in the Lake Country Line up. It's definitely not a heavy cut IMO but a solid one-step pad. Depends on the paint system but yes it did indeed cut quite a bit on this particular GM Black. The same type of pad were used across the test so each product had a fair chance. ✌️
@@chrisbradley3224depends on many factors my friend! Could be paint hardness, the amount of passes, moist or dry pad, the pad used, pressure etc. Haven't had that problem as of yet!

Great review. The Rupes Fine is not the right tool here, I always use COARSE to remove defects and I chose the pads and technics by the severity of the defects. Fine for me is just for finishing.
Hey man, appreciate your feedback. Rupes Fine has some bite and is definitely more than just a finishing product, in fact Rupes swear by it's cutting ability when paired with different pads for different paint. I had great success before using on harder paints, it just didnt work great on this GM black. P2000 grits were removed with ''fine products'' or medium compound this is how you know you dont need heavy cut products on this paint. ✌️✌️
Awesome vid Frank! From these I have the Rupes Fine and DIY Gold Standard, haven't used these yet. I worked lately with 3D One as i have 500ml of it and need to use it up, It's ok but i don't like the scent (it's in the pads man..offf) and the wipe off even with rinsless (maybe im using to much), but correction wise it's ok. I used exstensivley Sonax Ultimate Cut (a really good compound), Zvizzer Heavy Cut (also a great one), KCX H9.02 (my fav), Cartec was nice also, Perfect finish is my fav finishing one and with more agressive pads it can even cut a little. Haven't used Rupes DA coarse from the HLR set either :) Cheers bro!
Haze is a defect left by the combo of the pad and polish on this specific paint. I could have used the same combo on BMW paint for example get completely different results. Ideally we want a haze free finish, theres different way to get rid of it but usually you'd need to step down your pad or polish or both.
nice review i use all rupes pads and machines on black paint da fine leaves haze but its maybe me am not a professional so i use sonax perfect finish and surface p40x for finishing rupes da coarse for cutting and surface p-15x for one step or sonax perfect finish .
There is a just released product from P&S that you could test against the winner of this comparison - P&S Rehab Correction Creme. You know, when you get the time. I'm sure you aren't that busy. (I don't know how to type in sarcasm).
Hey Squatch thank you for watching as usual, im already looking into rehab, sole and others for that. I wanna do heavy cut compound pretty much all categories. cheers ✌️✌️
Here in Europe, Koch F6 it’s not great at all, Rupes da fine for me has worked better with rupes pads and flex force rotation. But the best one step compound/polish is Scholl S20. The best “medium” polish after a hard cut with a compound, CARPRO fixer. Quick disclaimer, I work only on hard German cars clear coats.
@@afonsofreitas3595 Ive seen a bunch of people on reddit detailing channel say it, so I could be wrong but I think its identical just not in a spray bottle
@@Youdontknowme-xc8mu I think they might be different, I believe 3D One will stain trim if you don't tape it, whereas DIY Detail will not stain trim. Wipe off is very similar, both are better with a rinseless dampened first wipe.
@@Youdontknowme-xc8mu "I was told" well whoever said that must be related to Pinocchio because they literally just made that up and you for some reason believed it.
I know there's a million products and you have to draw the line somewhere...but I think P&S Rehab and The Last Cut Compund (regular, not Plus) would have been cool to see in this test. RUPES DA Fine isn't my favorite, but I've used it enough to know that it has a pretty short cycle time and its even shorter when running the machine at full speed. It really is optimized for Speed 2-3 (on the RUPES machines) with their pads.
Hey Jeff thank you my friend, Rehab came out after the P&S was acquired by the ATG group im not sure I would give it a try. I'd like to get Oberk Sole at some point we'll see, it seems people are loving the polish compounds videos. Exactly my thoughts for the Rupes Fine I'll leave it at that 🤣 cheers ✌️
Thanks for choosing my video Cobra. F6 is more of a medium compound while Sonax PF has very little cut or almost no cut on harder clears but truly awesome gloss and easy wipeoff. I use PF for 2 steps as 2nd step or when a polish is needed but no real defects are present like a maintenance polish. hope that helps.

You should really think about trying Rehab from P&S.
I'll order it and get a V2 one-step video for you. thanks for tuning in
Oberk sole is my go 2 single step
I'll order it soon and get a V2 1-step vid, thanks for tuning in Gabriel
What machine and pad are you using?
it's in the video description Bruce! thank you for tuning in!
@Detailing_Dogma ok I appreciate it 🙏
What causes the Haze that u showed near the end on some of them ?
Haze is a defect left by the combo of the pad and polish on this specific paint. I could have used the same combo on BMW paint for example get completely different results. Ideally we want a haze free finish, theres different way to get rid of it but usually you'd need to step down your pad or polish or both.
My Go tos for 1 steps: Cartec 9000, Oberk Sole, Fireball 1 step compound, Zvizzer MC
Appreciate your feedback ✌️
please do P&S rehab since I am thinking of using it in my detailing business
I'll order it soon and get a V2 1-step vid for you, thanks for tuning in.
@Detailing_Dogma you are the best! Much love from the Philippines!
nice review i use all rupes pads and machines on black paint da fine leaves haze but its maybe me am not a professional so i use sonax perfect finish and surface p40x for finishing
rupes da coarse for cutting and surface p-15x for one step or sonax perfect finish .
Appreciate your feedback ✌️
One spray of the DIY Detail product will result in a better cut easier wipe off.
I wanna do heavy cut compound pretty much all categories. cheers ✌️✌️
@@Detailing_Dogma Awesome, I look forward to it. You are fast becoming my favourite detailing channel.
@ thank you brother
DIY's you used too much product. Only one spray and that is on a larger pad even. So that is why I think it was a harder wipe off and greasy.
I stand behind what I said. Not like I haven't used the polish before. It's generally oilier and harder to wipe off, just is.
You made this test as fair as possible, great video my friend, thank you 👍😁
Thank you Dave, thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback. Talk soon✌️
S20 black, is rarely spoken about but is a great one step
Great video thanks for sharing 😊
Thanks for choosing my video Rob!
Please try 3D ONE.
Awesome Product, coupled with 3d speed to finish, is even better
same formulation as DIY
@@igneousc Really? White labelling?
@@afonsofreitas3595 Ive seen a bunch of people on reddit detailing channel say it, so I could be wrong but I think its identical just not in a spray bottle
That's what I use. Does a very good job. I also have BlackFire Compound that I use as needed.
3D one all day!!!!!
I was told it's the same exact formulation in DIY detail except sprayable
@@Youdontknowme-xc8mu I think they might be different, I believe 3D One will stain trim if you don't tape it, whereas DIY Detail will not stain trim. Wipe off is very similar, both are better with a rinseless dampened first wipe.
@@Youdontknowme-xc8mu "I was told" well whoever said that must be related to Pinocchio because they literally just made that up and you for some reason believed it.
For one step try perfect finish
Exactly my thoughts for the Rupes Fine I'll leave it at that 🤣
cheers ✌️
For me Meguiars ultimate compound is the best👍💯
Yeah 1/3rd the price and just as good results. Meguiars easily wins. Sonax beats all these in terms of finish anyways.
Appreciate your feedback ✌️
No love for 3D One?
I ran out of it. It was bested here by a competitor ruclips.net/video/nVe5P5RDY3g/видео.html
Frank, I like to use American Made products by American companies. With that in mind, my go to Compound/Polish is 3D One. Thank you!
Awesome brother, glad 3D one works for you, thanks for tuning.
Rupes should work in low speed
The Rupes Yellow is not a one step….Not why you did not get there one step.
Okay, is a sedan a car?
Per Rupes Website : - One-step light defect removal and finishing on most paints
Where is 3D one
Was out performed by F6 in a previous video, appreciate you tuning in. ruclips.net/video/nVe5P5RDY3g/видео.html
First!!!!!
✌️✌️
In your opinion how does the ktc f6 compare to sonax perfect finish for finishing ?
Thanks for choosing my video Cobra. F6 is more of a medium compound while Sonax PF has very little cut or almost no cut on harder clears but truly awesome gloss and easy wipeoff. I use PF for 2 steps as 2nd step or when a polish is needed but no real defects are present like a maintenance polish. hope that helps.
Thank you , yes that help a lot !
