Certainly some handy methods there. I have that exact brake bleed tool. Brilliant idea for leak testing the valves. Consider that idea stolen from you. 😊
Your video came at just right time for my project. I have been working on Jerry Howell's Power House engine for a long time (I stopped for a few years) and after returning to this project I realize that making the valves and guides was going to be a challenge. I had already made the the valves using SS as suggested by the instructions, but I was unsure about lapping and testing them. Your video helps with that. Assuming I get this engine to work what would you recommend for a second IC engine? I have previous machined several steam engines, but this IC engine represented a whole new level of challenge. Thanks again.
Hi Phil , I’m glad you got something useful out of the video . As for what you should do next I need to know what you like to work with, casting sets , or bar stock. Also one cylinder or two. I work mostly with bar stock because it’s a lot cheaper if I screw up. Let me know and I will gladly let you know what I think.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge Joe, please please keep these kind of videos coming
Thank you Thomas , I appreciate your comments and your interest. Joe
The hex bolt for ease of valve lapping is superb!
Thank you for your comment. Yes it sure makes lapping the valves a pleasure not a pain in the neck. Joe
Elegant yet simple, thanks Joe.
Thank you for your comment and your interest. Joe
I enjoyed your video, nice work Joe
Great video, the hex hole is a great idea
Hi Nigel, that is one of my better ideas and I really discovered it by accident. I thank you for your comments and your support to my videos. Joe

I have to confess It’s not my idea, I did make a few improvements on the connections though. Thank you for your input and your interest. Joe
