Robert Ervin Howard (January 22, 1906 - June 11, 1936) was an American author who wrote pulp fiction in a diverse range of genres.
He is well known for his character Conan the Barbarian and is regarded as the father of the sword and sorcery subgenre.
Howard was born and raised in Texas.
He spent most of his life in the town of Cross Plains, with some time spent in nearby Brownwood.
A bookish and intellectual child, he was also a fan of boxing and spent some time in his late teens bodybuilding, eventually taking up amateur boxing.
From the age of nine he dreamed of becoming a writer of adventure fiction but did not have real success until he was 23.
Thereafter, until his death by suicide at age 30, Howard's writings were published in a wide selection of magazines, journals, and newspapers, and he became proficient in several subgenres.
His greatest success occurred after his death.
Although a Conan novel was nearly published in 1934, Howard's stories were never collected during his lifetime.
The main outlet for his stories was Weird Tales, where Howard created Conan the Barbarian.
With Conan and his other heroes, Howard helped fashion the genre now known as sword and sorcery, spawning many imitators and giving him a large influence in the fantasy field.
Howard remains a highly read author, with his best works still reprinted.
Howard's suicide and the circumstances surrounding it have led to speculation about his mental health.
His mother had been ill with tuberculosis his entire life, and upon learning she had entered a coma from which she was not expected to wake, he walked out to his car and shot himself in the head.

Genius, underrated writer, his ideas of terraforming and fairytale races.. Diablo 1 and 2, and Warcraft 3 where created inspired with his tales. Sadly he died as a young man...

As it was D&D original setting, Mystara, and Warhammer Fantasy own setting, especially the Old World. And the same worldbuilding process of Howard was used by Ed Greenwood, original creator of Faerun and the Forgotten Realms. And I'm sure the list can go on and on.

I personally think the Kull tale By This Axe I Rule is a superior story to its Conan rewrite, Phoenix On The Sword, and although l am a huge Conan fan, along with all of Howard's creations, Kull is by far my favorite character, and much prefer him and his stories.

From what REH mentions how the stories have come about it seems as if it is a matter of him channelling Kull and Conan and other characters. As if the Hyborian Age may have existed, may yet to exist or could exist in an alternative reality.

Talltrees84 they did exist. This is the true story of mankind's origins from Tiamat which later became EArth. This whole narrative starts in Orion and Sirius systems in the Heavens. Even goes back millions of yrs to Lyrae, The Pleiades, Zeta Reticuli, Draco, etc. Its the story found in the Terra Papers brought down by a Bak Ti (Star Elder) - (Hopi indigenous esoteric history of our galaxy). The Aztec Emerald tablets of Thoth aka Atlantean (indigenous origin history of Azlan aka Atlantis). The Aztec God Quetzalcoatl appears in other esoteric documents found in other indigenous tablets, sankrits, oral traditions. The Mayans call Him "Kukulkan", The Inca's indigenous primordial accounts refer to Him as "Veracocha". Remember the languages changed, but after one researches. The obvious becomes clear. Mainstream academia is trying to act like all these narratives are separate, but their actually an ancient Royalty that originated from Orion and Sirius. if one knows of the Sumerian creation Tablets? You will discover that goes back epochs ago when Earth was known as Tiamat. Tiamat is destroyed and the remnant became Earth. It correlates cataclysm found in our distant past. ISIS in Kemet/Egyptian history is the same goddess known as Ninursag in the Sumerian Tablets. Later on Babylonians called Her "Ishtar', etc. Its all about one family from Orion aka Ari-An. Marduk in Sumerian history aka Nimrod in the later Hebrew (Biblical account) retold this narrative omitting facts and chronological context. Marduk aka Mars (The God of War in Greek so-called mythology), in the Terra Papers Marduk is known as "Zues". The Hindu Rig Vega is allegedly the oldest book in the world. This document has the esoteric history and Noble families from Orion aka Ari-an aka Aryans. The aborigines call them the Rainbow Serpent and the Wandjinas in (Dreamtime oral tradition). The Zulu call them The Chitauri and The Water Brothers. The Book of Enoch aka Nag Hamadi scriptures call them Archons, Watchers, & Demiurge. The Shining Ones cause they illuminated with halos. Ancient Celtic history of the Tauthe De' Anu, or Tribe of Danu, Ubaid Lizardmen of ancient Sumer, The Nommos (amphibious Atlantean like beings) found in the Dogon Tribe oral tradition. They were highly advanced multi-dimensional/godlike/immortals/giants/shapeshifters/reptilians/lyrans/vegans/elf like/ juxtaposed to Humanity. Thus the tales of Titans, elfs, magic, and beings depicted with halos (telepathy), the Buddhas with halos and 6 fingers, Jesus depictions with halos, the Shining Ones, The Light bringers, etc. Thus why the Smithsonian censors anything via Giants or any artifacts that lend credence to this narrative. Thus why The Vatican hides indigenous manuscripts from Hawaii that go into this, and other documents that reveal this truth.

Small possibility but it would quite be like the images you have from this franchise. Women while not overweight (dependent on race) would not be toned as often. Not to mention bras would not have been prominent. Not to mention beards would have been more prominent due to not shaving in a lot of places

Kull stories that are published in Finland have the name changed to Kall.
That is because in finnish language word Kulli is slang name for penis.

Kull lived about 20.000 bc (Turian age or pre cataclysmic age) and Conan about 12.000 bc (Hiborian age).
If you speak spanish there is Conan el barbaro channel, with almost all conan stories in order.
